Here is my lineup for tonight’s games. Please note that I’m using the salary cap based on FanDuel prices.

Also, as this is written the day before/morning of the games, please check the lineups and weather to ensure you have all active players going tonight and that any pitching matchups mentioned below haven’t changed. Good Luck everyone!
Pitcher – Corey Kluber – Cleveland Indians
I’m going to spend big at the pitchers position tonight and take Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians who comes into tonight’s matchup posting a 3.46 ERA and 1.08 WHIP while striking out 186 batters in 171.2 IP. Kluber has a solid matchup against the Minnesota Twins on Friday in which in two starts against the Twins this season, he has posted a 1.59 ERA and has 18 K’s in 17.0 IP. Minnesota is only hitting .246 against RHP on the season (Ranked 23rd in MLB) and has struggled hitting in the month of August in which they are hitting at just a .219 mark (Ranked 28th in MLB). Kluber is posting a 9.8 K/9 ratio and has a strikeout percentage of 27.11% which ranked 8th in MLB among qualified starters. Kluber is currently holding opponents to a .239 average, .283 OBP, and .633 OPS on the season. In two of his last three starts, Kluber has thrown complete games, and although Kluber has had a couple of rough games this season, he is worth the investment against the Twins tonight.
Catcher – Jonathan Lucroy – Milwaukee Brewers
What a difference a year makes as at this point last year, Jonathan Lucroy was one of the best hitting catchers in baseball and today we can get him on our teams for just the low cost of $2300. I’m going to go with Lucroy tonight as although he is hitting just .235 with 4 homeruns and 25 RBI’s on the season and just .050 (1-20) over the past week, I like his value against a very hittable left-hander in Philadelphia’s Adam Morgan. Morgan comes into tonight’s contest with a respectable 4.06 ERA and 1.40 WHIP, however, Morgan has really struggled against RHB’s on the season allowing them to post a .296 average and .854 OPS against him. Lucroy is struggling against LHP’s in 2015 but over the past three seasons, he has hit them hard posting a .329 average and .923 OPS. Lucroy has been great against Philadelphia on the season posting a .533 average and 1.163 OPS and I think for the price, he is of great value tonight.
First Base – Kendrys Morales – Kansas City Royals
Kendrys Morales is having a nice season with the Kansas City Royals as the veteran DH is hitting .289 with 13 homeruns and 82 RBI’s. Morales is solid option as I need to conserve my money taking Kluber tonight and as he has been great against Jared Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels, I feel he actually one of the better options at the position tonight. In his career against the right-handed Weaver, Morales has an incredible .667 (8-12) average and 1.714 OPS. Weaver comes into this matchup posting a 4.69 ERA and 1.22 WHIP and certainly hasn’t pitched like a top of the rotation starter for the majority of the season. Weaver is allowing opposing hitters to have a .270 average against him on the season and has a 12.46 ERA against the Royals in his one start against them this season. Morales has displayed most of this power as a LHB on the season belting 10 of his 13 homeruns from that side of the plate and I think he could have another solid night against Weaver and the Angels tonight.
Second Base – Neil Walker – Pittsburgh Pirates
Neil Walker comes into tonight’s matchup with a .273 average with 11 homeruns and 46 RBI’s, however, is playing some of his best baseball of the season hitting .348 over the past week with a double, two triples, a homerun and 4 RBI’s. Walker is hitting a solid .306 in the month of August and has a solid matchup against the right-handed Bartolo Colon of the New York Mets. Colon is probably headed to the bullpen for good once Steven Matz returns from injury as the veteran pitcher is posting a 5.83 ERA since the All-Star Break. Colon has struggled against LHB’s on the season as he is allowing LHB’s to post a .307 average and .776 OPS against him on the season. Walker has been a better hitter against RHP on the season as he has posted a .275 average and has all 11 of his homeruns against righties on the season. Walker has a career .286 average against Colon and I think Walker will continue to find success against Colon and the Mets tonight.
Shortstop – Eugenio Suarez – Cincinnati Reds
Eugenio Suarez has done an excellent job filling in at shortstop for the Reds since Zack Cozart went down with an injury as Suarez is currently hitting .307 with 7 homeruns and 29 RBI’s on the season. Cozart had a big game last night going 3 for 5 with two doubles and a homerun against the Dodgers and as I imagine his price tag probably be raised to around the $3000 after tonight, I want to get him on my team while at a great price of $2500. Suarez will be up against the left-handed Alex Wood of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday and although Suarez has yet to face Wood in his young career, Suarez is posting a .293 average and .926 OPS against LHP on the season. Wood is having a good year coming in with a 3.72 ERA, however, he has struggled against RHB’s as he is allowing RHB’s to have a .302 average and .798 OPS against him on the season. Suarez is hitting .348 over the past week and .333 in August and I think he can continue his solid hitting against Wood and the Dodgers tonight.
Third Base – Mike Moustakas – Kansas City Royals
Mike Moustakas has made my lineup once again as it always seems that when I need to save some money, the slugging third-baseman’s value is too good to pass up. Moustakas has been battling a knee injury as of late, but seems to be picking it up as of late as in his last three games he is hitting .367 with a double, homerun and 3 RBI’s. On the season, Moustakas has done great limiting his strikeouts which was a problem for him in previous years and is currently hitting .275 with 11 homeruns and 43 RBI’s on the season. Moustakas will be up against Jared Weaver of the Los Angeles tonight which I mentioned before is not the same Jared Weaver that we’ve seen in past years. In his career against Weaver, Moustakas is hitting .250 (2-8) with a double and homerun. Moustakas has been solid against RHP on the season as he has posted a .299 average and .364 OBP and for the bargain price of $2200, is a good choice if you need to save money tonight.
Outfield – Adam Jones – Baltimore Orioles
Adam Jones is having a solid season with the Orioles as the talented center fielder is currently hitting .278 with 19 homeruns and 56 RBI’s on the season. Jones is having a difficult August hitting just .174 for the month but I like his matchup against the left-handed Brad Mills of the Oakland Athletics. Mills has had success against Jones in the past, but in my eyes, he is just not a MLB quality pitcher as he is posting an 8.15 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 74 IP throughout his career. I recall watching a game that Mills pitched last year against the Red Sox in which he last just 2 innings giving up 8 runs on 7 hits (3 homeruns) and wondering how this guy could be in the MLB. Mills has had success against Jones holding him to just a .125 average, however, that 1 hit was a homerun. Jones has a .329 average and .958 OPS against LHP on the season and I think that Jones and the Orioles will have no problem hitting Mills hard tonight.
Outfield – Ryan Braun – Milwaukee Brewers
With saving a lot of my salary with my infield, I’m able to go with Ryan Braun tonight as he has a great matchup against the left-handed Adam Morgan of the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. Braun comes into this matchup with a .277 average with 20 homeruns, 65 RBI’s and 18 SB’s on the season and is coming off a strong game against the Cubs yesterday in which he went 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 SB’s. Braun has yet to face Adam Morgan in his career and fared well against LHP’s on the season as he has posted a .309 average and .960 OPS. As I mentioned above in Jonathan Lucroy’s write-up, Morgan has been hit hard by RHB’s on the season (.296 average and .854 OPS) and is basically averaging giving up a homerun per start. Braun is hitting .375 in August and .333 over the past week and for a reasonable $4000 price tag, he should be in your lineups tonight.
Outfield – Rusney Castillo – Boston Red Sox
I’m going with Rusney Castillo as my last outfielder of the night as although he does face a tough pitcher in Seattle’s Mike Montgomery, Castillo has been great in his limited experience against LHP on the season. Castillo comes into today’s matchup with a .268 average with 2 homeruns and 15 RBIS in 41 games played this season, however is hitting an impressive .370 (17-46) against LHP on the season. Montgomery has posted an impressive 3.25 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in his rookie season, however, he has struggled more as of late as he hasn’t made it past the 4th inning in 2 of his last 4 starts. Castillo was hitting 5th in the batting order in his recent game which if he stays there, gives him additional value. Castillo is hitting .324 in the month of August and I’m going to hope he can continue his hot hitting against LHP tonight against Montgomery and the Mariners.
