Here is my lineup for tonight’s games. Please note that I’m using the salary cap based on FanDuel prices.

Also, as this is written the day before/morning of the games, please check the lineups and weather to ensure you have all active players going tonight and that any pitching matchups mentioned below haven’t changed. Good Luck everyone!

Pitcher – Raisel Iglesias – Cincinnati Reds

Raisel Iglesias has been an absolute stud since the All-Star Break as he has posted a 2.78 ERA with 70 K’s in just 58.1 IP. On the season, Iglesias is posting a 3.81 ERA and 1.10 WHIP and has been great recently as over his last three starts he has given up just 6 ER in 21 IP while striking out 33 batters. Iglesias has a tough matchup against Francisco Liriano and the Pittsburgh Pirates, but I’m willing to take my chances with Iglesias as the Pirates rank 8th in MLB in total strikeouts. In his only outing against the Pirates, Iglesias pitched well as he went 6.2 innings giving up just 2 runs on 4 hits. Iglesias is putting up a 10.0 K/9 ratio and has a strikeout percentage of 27.1%. Iglesias will be moved to the bullpen soon in an effort to keep his innings down in his rookie campaign, but as he is getting the start and has struck out at least 10 in his last three games, I’m going with Iglesias tonight.

Catcher – Jonathan Lucroy – Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee has one of the better pitching matchups tonight going against the left-handed Adam Conley of the Miami Marlins and due to this, I’m going to be stacking some Brewers starting with Jonathan Lucroy. Jonathan Lucroy is only hitting .263 with 7 HR’s and 41 RBI’s this season but has been one of the best hitting catchers over the past month as he ended August on a tear and is already hitting .360 so far in the month of September. Adam Conley comes into this matchup with a 5.02 ERA and 1.43 WHIP and has made it pass the 5th inning just once in his 10 starts this season. Conley is allowing RHB’s to post a .320 average and .909 OPS against him this season. Over the last three seasons Lucroy is hitting .329 against LHP and I expect him to have a strong night against Conley on Tuesday.

First Base – Paul Goldschmidt – Arizona Diamondbacks

Paul Goldschmidt is having another great season with the Diamondbacks as the first baseman is hitting .319 with 27 HR’s and 97 RBI’s on the season. Goldschmidt has struggled a bit as of late hitting just .190 over the past week, however, has a nice matchup against the right-handed Tim Hudson of the San Francisco on Tuesday. Hudson comes into this matchup with a 4.69 ERA and 1.40 WHIP while making his first start since late July. Hudson is allowing hitters to post a .292 average and .769 OPS against him on the season. In his career against Hudson, Goldschmidt is hitting .300 (6-20) with 4 doubles and a HR. Goldschmidt has posted an impressive .308 average and .958 OPS against RHP on the season and is currently hitting .340 against the San Francisco Giants on the season. I’m banking that Goldschmidt breaks out of his recent slump tonight at home.

Second Base – Hernan Perez – Milwaukee Brewers

I’m picking Hernan Perez tonight basically to try to save some money at the position and for the fact that I think he has the potential to do some damage against Adam Conley of the Miami Marlins. Perez is hitting just .252 with a HR and 15 RBI’s in limited time this season, however, has been getting regular playing time as of late and been hitting well as he has posted a .389 (7-18) over the past week. Perez has hit .291 against LHP on the season and was 1 for 2 with an RBI against Conley in an earlier matchup this season. Perez has two 3-hit games in his last four contests and I’m hoping this hot hitting can continue tonight against Miami.

Shortstop – Brandon Crawford – San Francisco Giants

Brandon Crawford has really struggled as of late as he is hitting just .111 (2-18) in September however, as the shortstop has clearly displayed that he has the power to take the ball out of the ballpark with his 19 HR’s and 77 RBI’s, he has some decent value for just a $2500 price tag on Monday. Crawford has a decent matchup against the left-handed Chase Anderson of the Arizona Diamondbacks who comes into this matchup with a 4.26 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. Anderson has struggled since the All-Star Break posting a 5.21 ERA and he is currently allowing LHB’s to post a .274 average and .746 OPS against him on the season. Crawford has 16 of his 19 HR’s against RHP on the season and as he will be at a decent hitter’s ballpark at Arizona’s Chase Field, he is worth the play tonight.

Third Base – Evan Longoria – Tampa Bay Rays

This pick was almost too easy to make between how good Longoria has been against LHP and how bad the left-handed Matt Boyd has basically been all season. Longoria comes into this matchup with just a .271 average with 19 HR’s and 64 RBI’s on the season but has been great against lefties posting a .365 (42-115) average and 1.024 OPS. Boyd comes into the matchup with an 8.36 ERA and 1.83 WHIP and lasted just 1 inning against the Royals in his recent outing. Boyd is allowing opposing hitters to post a .354 average and 1.052 OPS against him this season and has given up 12 HR’s in just 37.2 IP. Basically, don’t overthink this one and be happy that you can get Longoria in this matchup for just $3000.

Outfield – Ryan Braun – Milwaukee Brewers

For my last Milwaukee Brewer in my stack tonight, I’m going with the slugging right-field in Ryan Braun who is hitting .285 on the season with 25 HR’s, 81 RBI’s and 22 SB. Braun has been on fire as of late hitting .417 (10-24) with a HR over the past week. Braun has a great matchup against Adam Conley of the Miami Marlins on Tuesday in which in his career he is a perfect 2 for 2 with a double. Braun has been great against LHP on the season posting a .327 average, .596 slugging percentage, and a 1.009 OPS. Braun has posted a .412 (7-17) average and 1.180 OPS against the Marlins this season and I expect him to continue to have this type of success tonight.

Outfield – Charlie Blackmon – Colorado Rockies

I’m going with Charlie Blackmon tonight as the Rockies CF is hitting .292 on the season with 15 HR’s, 52 RBI’s and 36 SB and has a good matchup against the right-handed Colin Rea of the San Diego Padres. Blackmon has been solid all season and although he was in the midst of a 0-9 slump going into last night’s game, he broke out of the slump by going 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Colin Rea comes into this matchup with a 5.47 ERA and 1.42 WHIP and has yet to get past the 6th inning in any of his 5 starts on the season. Rea is allowing opposing hitters to post a .281 average and .795 OPS against him on the season. Blackmon has been impressive against RHP’s as on the season he has a .307 average, .858 OPS and 26 SB’s vs. righties. Blackmon is one of the best overall fantasy players as he can get it done with both his bat and his legs and for a price tag of just $3500, he is solid choice tonight going up against a righty.

Outfield – Brett Gardner – New York Yankees

Brett Gardner is hitting .267 with 13 HR’s and 57 RBI’s on the season and although he is hitting just .143 so far in the month of September, I like Gardner tonight against the right-handed Kevin Gausman of the Baltimore Orioles. Gausman comes into the game with a 4.59 ERA and 1.25 WHIP and lasted just 2.1 innings giving up 8 hits and 3 ER’s against Tampa Bay in his recent outing. Gausman has given up 14 HR’s in 82.1 IP on the season and has a 6.75 ERA against the Yankees this season in two starts. In his career against Gausman, Gardner is hitting .308 with a HR and 2 RBI’s. Gardner has hit 11 of his 13 HR’s and has all 18 of his SB’s against RHP on the season and is showing good value with a price tag of under $3000 tonight.
