Fantasy Football 2015: Injury Update 9/28
Taking a Look at the Injured Fantasy Stars Heading into Week 4
September 28, 2015
It’s Monday, and we hope your fantasy football team is doing well in Week 3. Today is always a good day to check out all the fresh injury situations around the league (and there are always plenty of those), so let’s visit with some of the ailing players out there and see what we’re looking at for Week 4.
One of the most notable injury issues from yesterday’s action came from Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, who was hurt in the third quarter of his team’s win over the Rams.
Big Ben injured his knee, was carted off the field and left the stadium on crutches. With the quick turnaround this week, the team will look to Michael Vick at quarterback this Thursday in a big game against the winless Ravens.
As for Roethlisberger, an MRI revealed that he had only an MCL sprain and didn’t suffer any structural damage--that’s great news for the Steelers. His recovery window is expected to be around four weeks, which puts him in line for a return in Week 8 or possibly 7.

Any fantasy owners using the Browns defense as a whole or CB extraordinaire Joe Haden in an IDP format will want to know his status.
Haden left yesterday’s game against the Raiders for a little while due to a rib injury. He’ll get an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury.
Marshawn Lynch has some definite injury issues heading into Week 4, so let’s take a closer look at him. He was questionable for yesterday’s game against the Bears with a calf issue and didn’t even see the field until the team’s third drive.
Lynch ended up leaving the game with a hamstring issue and didn’t return. He’d finish with just five carries.
The good news is that the team doesn’t seem to be too concerned about his hamstring. That said, he now has two injury issues to be wary of heading into the Monday game. He’ll be a sketchy play this week, so tread cautiously.
Matt Forte was nearly folded in half (backward) late in the third quarter of his team’s Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. He was seen getting worked on by the trainers on the sideline but didn’t appear to sustain any notable injury. He may end up being sore over the next few days, though, so it’s worth monitoring if you’re an owner.
While we’re on the subject of the Bears, let’s visit with WR Alshon Jeffery. He’s been out the last two games due to a hamstring/calf injury, but expects to be in action for Week 4 against the Raiders. He should find some success there if truly healthy.
The Broncos’ C.J. Anderson had to come out of yesterday’s game against the Lions to be evaluated for a possible concussion. He was cleared, however, and returned.
Anderson didn’t do much on the stat sheet, however, posting just 18 yards on the ground and 11 more on one catch.
