Fantasy Football 2015: Injury Update 10/5
Taking a Look at the Injured Fantasy Stars Heading into Week 5
October 5, 2015
It’s Monday, and that means we’ve got a fresh batch of injury situations out there in the NFL. With that in mind, let’s take a look at a few of the notable players who are hurt and see what that might mean for your fantasy football roster over the coming days.
We hope you pulled Marshawn Lynch out of your fantasy lineup this week. Yesterday, he was officially ruled out for tonight’s game due to his hamstring injury.
There didn’t ever seem to be much chance of Lynch playing this evening, so most owners were able to make adjustments. While he’s gone, look for Thomas Rawls and Fred Jackson to carry the load.

Let’s check out a couple of significant Cowboys injuries (as if they didn’t have enough already) from last night. Lance Dunbar and Sean Lee both left the team’s OT loss to the Saints, further depleting an already shelled roster.
Dunbar came out due to a knee injury. The Cowboys are fearing a torn ACL/MCL here, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see that his season is over. He’ll get confirmation off an MRI today.
As for Lee, he sustained a concussion in the first half. It’s unfortunate, as he’d been having a good season so far. Lee has dealt with myriad injuries throughout his career, including a couple of concussions.
Owners will want to keep an eye on Colts QB Andrew Luck today. He’s set for a workout which will determine the status of his shoulder and go a long way in deciding his fate for Week 5.
The Colts are on a short week; they’ll play the Texans on Thursday. If he can’t go, it’ll be the ancient Matt Hasselbeck once again.
Demaryius Thomas came out of Denver’s Week 4 game due to a neck injury, but only ended up missing one series.
It looks like Thomas is okay, but it’s worth keeping an eye on him in practice this week to be sure.
Speaking of the aforementioned Texans, they lost a couple of wide receivers yesterday against Atlanta. Both Cecil Shorts and Nate Washington came out.
Shorts has a dislocated shoulder and Washington has a hamstring injury. It doesn’t look good for either player on this short week, but we’ll see in the next day or two.
The Chargers lost a couple of players to injury yesterday as well. Stevie Johnson suffered a hamstring injury and Malcom Floyd to a concussion.
Arian Foster was able to make his 2015 debut yesterday against the Falcons, but didn’t post many fantasy points--especially considering his lost fumble.
Assuming Foster doesn’t suffer a setback this week, he’s on the RB1 radar for the Colts game.
