Fantasy Football 2015: Injury Update 10/12
Fantasy Football Injury News: Week 6 Outlook on Ailing Players
October 12, 2015
It’s a fantasy football Monday, and we hope your teams are doing well in Week 5. This marks a good opportunity to take a look at all the noteworthy injury situations around the NFL and see what kind of impact they may have on your rosters moving forward. Here’s the latest.
Probably the biggest injury issue from yesterday’s action is the Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles. He went down in the third quarter against the Bears with a scary-looking knee injury.
The initial fear is that Charles tore his right ACL. If that’s indeed true, he’s finished for the year. We’ll find out for sure today when he undergoes an MRI, but in the meantime Charles owners need to get their waiver claims in for Charcandrick West. He should end up getting the bulk of the workload in Charles’ absence.

Justin Forsett suffered an ankle injury late in his team’s Week 5 loss to Cleveland. He missed out on all of overtime. We’ll get some more info on him today, but the initial word points to a sprained ankle.
Depending on the severity of his injury, Forsett could be back for Week 6 or he could end up missing some time. Owners will want to pay close attention to him in practice this week.
Odell Beckham had a great line against the Niners on “Sunday Night Football,” but missed out on most of the team’s game-winning drive thanks to his nagging hamstring injury.
Beckham felt a “tug” on his hamstring during his touchdown catch and was seen getting worked on by the training staff on the sideline. We should hear more on him today.
We’ve got a news tidbit on the Cowboys’ Dez Bryant this morning. The latest on him is that he received a therapeutic injection in his broken foot.
The injection contained bone marrow stem cells transplanted from his hip. This procedure is designed to aid in his healing process. We’re still not certain of Bryant’s return timeline, but another 2-4 weeks sounds about right.
Jacksonville’s T.J. Yeldon was in the starting lineup of a lot of fantasy owners this week but didn’t really pan out stats-wise. He also left late in the game due to a groin injury.
Yeldon told reporters that he’s okay, but we’ll see what the team says when they update his status. Groin injuries can be tricky, but it’s also conceivable that the Jags are simply being cautious with Yeldon.
Owners who are sitting on Alshon Jeffery will have to wait at least another week. He was inactive once again during yesterday’s win over the Chiefs.
Jeffery has been dealing with a pesky hamstring injury and has been on the verge of returning for at least the past couple of weeks. It’s been quite the mess with the Chicago receiving corps.
