Fantasy Hockey 2015-16: Waiver Wire Update 12/17
Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
December 17, 2015
We’ve got a huge 11-game schedule ahead of us in the NHL this evening, which means this morning is a great time to check out some of the notable waiver wire trends out there in the world of fantasy hockey. Here’s a closer look at the numbers so you can see if anyone’s right for your daily or seasonal league.
Darcy Kuemper, G, Minnesota Wild: Kuemper is probably the hottest goalie on the waiver wire right now, so he’s definitely an option if you are in need. In his last two games, he’s allowed just two goals and has a total of 54 saves in those two wins.
Kuemper will get the call tonight at home against the visiting Rangers. New York has been struggling lately and he may come up big for fantasy owners.

Anders Lindback, G, Arizona Coyotes: Now let’s check out another goalie option in Lindback. He’s a little further down the waiver wire chart, as he’s coming off a 5-4 loss to the Hurricanes. He did make 28 saves, though.
Lindback should see plenty of net time in the coming weeks with Mike Smith out for 2-3 months. We’ll see if he can get it going in that time frame and prove himself to the team and fantasy owners.
Mathieu Perreault, C/LW, Winnipeg Jets: Perreault doesn’t play until tomorrow, but we should probably check him out anyway. He’s coming off two assists in the Blues game, giving him five helpers and a goal in the last three games.
On the season, Perreault has four goals and 21 assists with a plus-3 rating. He’ll get the visiting Rangers at home tonight and is a nice lower-end option.
Mikko Koivu, C, Minnesota Wild: Let’s come back to the Wild for a moment and check out Koivu. He is coming off a goal and three assists with a plus-2 mark in a nice win against the Canucks. That gives him two goals, three helpers and a plus-3 rating in his last two outings.
Koivu is still available in a little over half the leagues out there and has put up 25 scores in 29 games. He seems to be rolling right now.
Jason Demers, D, Dallas Stars: Demers is making some waves as a defenseman add this week, as he’s getting plenty of ice time since returning from his injury. In his last three games, he has a plus-6 rating and an assist with at least 19:48 on the ice in each outing.
Demers has four goals and eight assists on the year. If nothing else, he’ll help out your plus-minus, as he’s sitting at plus-13 right now. He’ll get Calgary at home tonight.
