Fantasy Basketball News: Injury Update 1/12/16
2016-01-11 11:00:00 EDT
We’ve got a nice-looking NBA schedule coming up tonight, and the daily and seasonal fantasy basketball leagues will be in full swing. That makes this morning a good time to check in on some injury issues around the league and see what kind of effects they’ll be having on our rosters. Here’s the latest.
The Kings’ Omri Casspi is expected to be able to get back into the lineup tomorrow. He’s been nursing a back injury.
Casspi was able to do a little work at practice yesterday, so we’ll see how he’s feeling today. Even with the injury, he’s a guy to own in most leagues.
Thabo Sefolosha is something of a deep-league option, but if you’re down at that level you should keep an eye on him. He’s reportedly making progress from his wrist injury, and was doing some dribbling at yesterday’s practice.
Sefolosha should be back soon, and will have his work cut out for him carving out space from Kent Bazemore.
D’Angelo Russell should be back in the rotation tonight against the Pelicans. He’s been ruled as probable for that game.
Russell sat out on Sunday but should be just about back to normal now.
In other Lakers news, Kobe Bryant had some treatment done on his ailing Achilles yesterday. He’s officially questionable for tonight.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see Kobe sit this one out, given the fact that he’s also been nursing a shoulder issue. If he sits, look for Anthony Brown and Nick Young to fill in the gap.

As for Anthony Davis, he’s officially questionable for tonight thanks to that back injury.
Davis will likely be a game-time decision, as he was on Sunday. It’s something fantasy owners will have to monitor all day.
Monta Ellis was out of practice yesterday, thanks to his knee injury. Speculation dictates that it was simply a rest day, but we won’t know until later today.
Ellis has been hampered by knee issues for at least a couple of months. He should be okay moving forward, though.
The Grizzlies’ Mike Conley is officially questionable for tonight against the Rockets, but it doesn’t look so good for him playing.
Conley didn’t do any work yesterday and was in a walking boot as of last week. He’s probably going to sit tonight while Mario Chalmers and Courtney Lee soak up the extra minutes.
