Fantasy Baseball 2016: Waiver Wire Update 5/31
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
May 31, 2016
It’s Tuesday, and around here that means it’s time once again for us to check out the fantasy baseball waiver wire. We’ve got some interesting plays in store for you today, so let’s take a closer look at the numbers and see who’s trending.
Matt Shoemaker, SP, Los Angeles Angels: Let’s kick things off on the mound today and cheek out Shoemaker. He’s coming off 8.1 innings against the Astros in his last appearance, striking out 11 and allowing just two runs.
That makes a whopping 23 strikeouts for Shoemaker in his last pair of starts alone. He’ll get another shot at the mound tomorrow against the Tigers.

Danny Duffy, SP/RP, Kansas City Royals: Duffy is trending as a pitching add right now as well, despite going 5.1 innings with five runs against the White Sox in his last outing. He struck out five in that one.
That gives Duffy a 3.23 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP in 30.2 innings so far this season. He’ll take the mound again tomorrow against the Rays.
Jake Lamb, 3B, Arizona Diamondbacks: Moving on over to the hot corner, let’s visit with Lamb, who is available in about 2/3 of the leagues out there. He popped a solo homer yesterday, giving him eight long balls on the season with 27 RBI in total.
Lamb will sit against lefties most of the time, but when he’s in there he’s been quite productive. He’ll play Houston the next three days before heading to Wrigley Field.
Chris Hermann, C, Arizona Diamondbacks: Let’s go behind the plate and check out Herrmann, who is also available in around 2/3 of the leagues out there. On the season, he’s got five homers with 19 RBI and a nice .308 BA.
This isn’t the first time Herrmann has found this space, and it probably won’t be the last. He’s a great pickup in deeper or two-catcher leagues right now.
Adam Duvall, OF, Cincinnati Reds: Duvall has been on quite a nice roll over the past few games. Heading into yesterday’s game, he had a three-game hit streak to his credit, with five hits, four runs, two homers and seven RBI in that span. He slapped two homers yesterday.
Duvall holds a .271 BA with 13 homers and 29 RBI. That’s awesome value for a guy available in over 70 percent of fantasy leagues.
