Fantasy Baseball 2016: Waiver Wire Update 6/10
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
June 10, 2016
It’s time for us fantasy baseball owners to start looking ahead to the big weekend series around the MLB, and there’s no better way to do that than by looking at the waiver wire. Let’s check out a few trending players out there and see who might make a good pickup for these upcoming matchups and beyond.
James Paxton, SP, Seattle Mariners: Paxton is a hot pickup right now, thanks to a solid appearance against the Indians. In his most recent start, he struck out 10 batters and allowed just one earned run across six innings of work.
That’s quite a bit better than Paxton’s debut against the Padres, which was forgettable. He’ll take the mound again tomorrow at home against the visiting Rangers.

Dan Straily, SP, Cincinnati Reds: Also making an appearance tomorrow will be Straily. Once much more widely-owned in fantasy, Straily is now available in almost 85 percent of the leagues out there.
On the season, Straily holds a 3.34 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. Odds are that’s comparable to your No. 4 or 5 starter. He’ll get the A’s tomorrow.
Brandon Kintzler, RP, Minnesota Twins: Lets’ go RP for a moment and check out Kintzler. He earned his first save of the year this week against Miami, striking out one in a one-hit ninth.
Kintzler will be sharing the closing duties moving forward, so he’s now in play as a deeper RP option. If you’re desperate for saves, check him out as he heads into today’s Boston series opener.
Javier Baez, 2B/3B/SS, Chicago Cubs: We love versatile utility guys around here, and Baez is definitely in that category. He is 5-for-5 in his last five plate trips, and has produced three RBI in that span.
Baez is a pretty streaky guy, but when he’s on, he can produce. He’s got four homers with 15 RBI this year, and playing for the Cubs he should get plenty more opportunities.
Jurickson Profar, 2B/SS, Texas Rangers: Profar is still available in over 60 percent of the fantasy leagues out there, and he’s been tearing it up at the plate. He’s hitting .389 on the season so far, and has given us 10 runs in his last 11 games.
Profar has also popped two solo homers and four RBI in those 11 games. He’s a stellar pickup right now and needs to be owned.
