Fantasy Baseball 2016: Waiver Wire Update 6/29
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
June 29, 2016
With all the early-week MLB matchups winding down, today is a good day for us fantasy baseball owners to take a look at the waiver wire. Let’s see which players are trending right now and see if anyone’s right for your team.
Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B/OF, Cleveland Indians: Let’s kick things off in Cleveland this morning and visit Chisenhall. In his last three games, he’s got eight hits, three runs, two homers, six RBI and a stolen base.
Chisenhall is surprising just about everyone this year with a .298 BA and 21 RBI. He’s a nice low-end play for those in need of a 3B or deep OF.
USA TODAY Sports
Kevin Gausman, SP/RP, Baltimore Orioles: Now we’ll head off to the mound for a minute to see about Gausman. In his last start against the Rays, he allowed no runs in 7.2 innings, striking out seven in the process.
Gausman has had his bumps in the road this year, and overall he’s got a 3.93 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP across 75.2 innings. He’ll get another start tomorrow in Seattle.
Danny Duffy, SP/RP, Kansas City Royals: Before we step off the mound today, let’s see about Duffy. He’s coming off a win against the Cardinals, going eight innings and allowing two runs.
Duffy holds a 3.24 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP so far, which is pretty darn good for a guy available in over half the fantasy leagues out there. He’s up next on July 2 against Philly.
Angel Pagan, OF, San Francisco Giants: We’ve kicked around the idea of adding Pagan a couple of times this year, and he’s making a great case for himself lately. He’s sitting on a nine-game hit streak, posting six runs, a homer and 11 RBI in that span.
Pagan is hitting .301 on the season. He’s got just three home runs, but does have 26 RBI and seven stolen bases.
Coco Crisp, OF, Oakland Athletics: It seems like Crisp ends up in this space at least a couple times a year. He’s currently sitting on a six-game hit streak, providing 10 runs, two homers and eight RBI in that span.
On the season, Crisp holds a .241 BA but does have seven homers and a nice 31 RBI alongside five steals. He’s a nice deep-league add right now.
