We’re cruising toward the weekend in the MLB, and that means it’s time for us fantasy owners to start looking ahead to the new match-ups looming around the league. With that in mind, let’s check out the fantasy baseball waiver wire and see who’s getting picked up right now.

Dylan Bundy, SP/RP, Baltimore Orioles: Let’s kick things off on the mound today and check out Bundy. He’s coming off seven clean innings against the Rangers, striking out seven batters in a victory.

Fantasy Baseball Update 8/4/16: Key Matchups This Weekend

Sunday is sitting on a 3.05 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP on the year through 59 innings. He’s got four wins and will go for number five On Sunday against the White Sox. Grab him now.

Jon Gray, SP, Colorado Rockies: You may not be too familiar with Gray, but he’s definitely worth your attention. He’s coming off five shutout innings against the Dodgers in a victory, striking out six guys in the process.

That makes three straight wins for Gray, who has eight on the season so far. He’s holding a 3.77 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP in 114.2 innings overall, and will put that to the test on Sunday against the Marlins. He’s still available in over half the leagues out there.

Aaron Altherr, OF, Philadelphia Phillies: We’ve talked about Altherr once or twice already, and he’s back again. He had a big night in the Giants opener, hitting three times with three runs, a homer and five RBI.

Altherr is capable of some big outbursts at the plate, but he’ll have his bumps along the way. He’s heading into a weekend set against the Padres.

Andrew Benintendi, OF, Boston Red Sox: Benintendi garnered some fantasy attention this week when the Sox purchased his contract, and he proceeded to go 0-for-2 in his debut.

Benintendi put up a nice .312 BA with nine home runs and 76 RBI in the minors this year, so he’s definitely got some talent. He’ll be in L.A. for the Dodgers this weekend.

Cesar Hernandez, 2B/3B/SS, Philadelphia Phillies: Hernandez has gotten quite a bit of looks this week, thanks to a 4-for-5 outburst against the Giants that yielded three runs for him. He had another hit and a run yesterday.

Hernandez is a nice utility pickup for those owners needing middle-infield or hot-corner help. He will head to San Diego for the Padres this weekend.
