Fantasy Football Update 10/13/16: Week 6 Waiver Wire Picks
Fantasy Football Sleepers and Waiver Wire Picks for Week 6
October 13, 2016
Week 6 in the NFL is about to kick off, so this morning makes a great time to check out some of the notable fantasy football waiver wire adds out there. Let’s visit with some of the trending players and see what kind of numbers they’re bringing.
Tennessee Titans Defense: Tennessee has been a hot add this week, and their defense is still available in over half the leagues out there. The Titans are coming off an 11-point effort against the Dolphins, bagging six sacks and two picks.

That gives Tennessee two double-digit scoring outings, and they’ve got a great shot at a third one this weekend when they take on the flailing Browns.
Courtney Meredith, WR, Chicago Bears: We’ve talked about Meredith a couple of times this week already, and he continues to grow in value. In his last outing against the Colts, he came up with nine grabs on 12 targets for 130 yards and a TD.
That was by far Meredith’s best outing, and with Kevin White on the shelf, he’s going to get plenty more opportunities. It starts this weekend in a solid matchup against Jacksonville.
Jessie James, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers: We’re a little surprised that James isn’t owned in more leagues out there. He’s got three touchdowns on the season, and put up six catches for 43 yards and a TD in Week 5.
James’ yardage totals aren’t that great, but in the red zone he’s a dynamo. He’s a little dependent on the touchdowns, but he’s got a great chance at bagging another one in Miami this week.
Devontae Booker, RB, Denver Broncos: Booker is another nice RB pick these days, and he’s got a lot of promise. In Week 5, he came up with 23 rushing yards and four catches for 36 yards against the Falcons.
Booker and the Broncos will take on the Chargers tonight, and San Diego is giving up the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs.
Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: With the Chiefs coming out of a bye this past weekend, Smith is off a lot of people’s radar. He’s got multiple pass TDs in two of four games, and has bagged at least 237 yards in three games so far.
Smith gets a nice matchup this week in Oakland, and will have another good one next week against New Orleans. If you need a QB, he’s a nice pickup right now.
