Fantasy Football Update 10/24/16: Week 8 Waiver Wire Picks
Fantasy Football Sleepers and Waiver Wire Picks for Week 8
October 24, 2016
We’re heading into Week 8 of the NFL season, which makes this morning a great time to check out the fantasy football waiver wire. Let’s examine a few trending names and see if anyone’s right for your team.
Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins: Thompson is one of the top adds in the league right now, thanks to a nice performance against Detroit. In that one, he carried 12 times for 73 yards and bagged seven catches for 40 more.

Even though Matt Jones is technically still the starter, he’s not playing very well right now. That opens the door for Thompson, who is set to receive around 15 touches on Sunday against the Bengals.
Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers: It’s been a few days since Adams has been on the field, so let’s refresh our memories on his exploits against the Bears last Thursday.
In that game, Adams put up 13 catches on 16 targets for 132 yards and two touchdowns, by far the best offensive player on the Green Bay squad. He’ll go for another big week in a row against the Falcons on Sunday.
New York Jets Defense: Those fantasy owners who are streaming defenses need to check out the Jets this week. They’re coming off a nice showing against Baltimore, with 10 points allowed, a fumble, a sack and two picks.
The main attraction for the Jets here is the fact that they’re playing against Cleveland. If New York can keep from getting burned on mid-to-long passes, they’ll be in a great spot for serious fantasy points.
Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts: Doyle had another nice week on Sunday against the Titans, grabbing nine of his 10 targets for 78 yards and a TD.
Doyle has now put up at least 11.3 fantasy points in consecutive weeks, but the downside to him is that he gets Kansas City in Week 8. The Chiefs are very good at controlling opposing tight ends, but Doyle is still a solid possession receiver and should see some action.
Cole Beasley, WR, Dallas Cowboys: With the Cowboys coming out of a bye this week, some fantasy owners might be forgetting about Beasley. He’s scored 11.3 and 17.8 fantasy points in his last two weeks, and hasn't put up fewer than 7.3 points since Week 1.
Even with Dez Bryant coming back, Beasley should be unaffected by any changes to the lineup. If you’re in a PPR league, he’s a must-have guy as Dallas heads into a division matchup against Philly.
