TV:

It’s a new year for fantasy basketball owners everywhere, and as always it’s a great time to check out the waiver wire to see what sort of improvements we can make to our rosters. That said, let’s check out some of the notable adds and trending players out there right now.

Malcolm Brogdon, PG/SG, Milwaukee Bucks: Brogdon is the top waiver wire add this morning, and it’s not too hard to see why. In his last two games, he’s come up with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 16 assists.

That tally includes a triple-double against the Bulls in his last appearance, the first of Brogdon’s young career. He’s a nice pickup right now ahead of tonight’s game against OKC.

James Johnson, SF/PF, Miami Heat: Johnson is another top waiver wire pick these days, thanks to a series of solid performances. In his last two games, he’s scored 22 and 20 points, with 10 total rebounds and nine assists.

With the Heat beat up right now, Johnson is getting plenty of minutes. He’s a nice plug-in guy to get you by, and will be back tomorrow in Phoenix.

JaMychal Green, PF, Memphis Grizzlies: In the past two games, Green has totaled 35 points (18 and 17) with six made 3-pointers. He’s also putting up okay rebound numbers with 17 in his last three games.

Green is definitely a guy to own if you can get him, now that his slump is over. He’ll get lots of action and will have plenty of opportunities.

Tony Parker, PG, San Antonio Spurs: It used to be that you couldn’t find Parker on any waiver wires, but that’s not the case now (he’s available in over 70 percent of leagues).

Parker has put up 20, 18 and 22 points in his last three games, and he’s averaging a pretty solid 4.5 assists per game. The jury’s still out on how effective he’ll be down the stretch, but he seems okay before the Raptors game tomorrow.

Justin Holiday, SG/SF, New York Knicks: The Knicks have gotten themselves into a four-game losing streak, but there’s still plenty of value in Holiday right now. He’s got double-digit points (14 and 15) in two of his last three games, with 13 total rebounds in the last two games.

Holiday has also been playing more lately: he’s got at least 28 minutes in his last three outings. With Courtney Lee banged up, there’s definitely some intrigue here. Holiday gets the Magic tonight.
