The Trending Sleepers and Waiver Wire Adds in Fantasy Baseball Heading Into the Weekend Series
July 27, 2017
The big weekend games in the MLB are about to get underway, so it’s a good time to double-check your fantasy baseball lineup by visiting the waiver wire. Let’s look at a few interesting adds and see if anyone’s right for your team.
Bradley Zimmer, OF, Cleveland Indians: Zimmer hd a nice game on Thursday, extending his multi-hit streak to three games. In that time, he’s got five runs, two homers and eight RBI with two steals.

Zimmer is hitting .281 on the year with seven homers, 35 RBI and 12 swipes. He’ll be heading to Chicago for the White Sox starting tomorrow.
Jaime Garcia, SP, Minnesota Twins: In a trade from the Braves on Monday, Jaime Garcia changed addresses to Minnesota, where he’ll try to win his third game in a row.
Garcia will be making his debut tomorrow in Oakland. On the year he carries a 4.30 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP and 85 Ks in 113.0 innings.
Erick Fedde, SP, Washington Nationals: With Stephen Strasburg ailing (arm), the Nats needed another starter, so they’re calling up Fedde for Saturday.
If the Nationals are lucky, Strasburg will only have to miss this one start. As for Fedde, he came into the year as the No. 52 prospect in baseball and sports a 3.72 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP in 27 starts.
Paul DeJong, 2B/3B/SS, St. Louis Cardinals: We’ve talked about DeJong a time or two this year, and he’s trending once again and still available in almost half the leagues out there. He’s hit in six straight games, delivering four homers, five runs and nine RBI in that time.
DeJong has a .290 BA with 14 homers and 31 RBI this year. He’ll be at home against Arizona for a four-game set this weekend starting today.
Lewis Brinson, OF, Milwaukee Brewers: On Wednesday, Brinson slapped his first Major League home run against the Nats, delivering two RBI in what would eventually be an 8-5 loss.
Brinson was pretty bad in the majors last month and was promptly demoted. He tore it up in the minors again, though, and earned himself another shot. He gets the Cubs at home this weekend.
