Fantasy Football 2017: Week 2 Waiver Wire Adds
The Trending Waiver Wire Adds in Fantasy Football Heading into Week 2
September 12, 2017
Now that the dust has settled on the NFL’s weekend games, it’s time to start looking forward to Week 2 on the fantasy football waiver wire. Whether you’re looking for an injury replacement, or your top guy just didn’t play as advertised, there are plenty of viable adds on the wire right now. Let’s take a look at some of the top names out there.
Javorius Allen, RB, Baltimore Ravens: Allen has a lot of good stuff going for him right now. He played 33 of 66 total snaps in the Week 1 win, with starter Terrance West getting only 27.

Allen picked up 71 yards on 21 attempts in the first game—which was something of a blowout—and will definitely have a sizable role in the offense with Danny Woodhead out. Allen gets the lowly Browns rush defense in Week 2.
Oakland Raiders Defense: If you’re one of those fantasy owners who likes to string defenses, the Raiders are your team this week. They held a solid Tennessee team to just 16 points in Week 1, but recorded just one sack and no turnovers.
That said, Oakland will get the playing-for-draft-position Jets this week, and New York gave up two picks, a sack and just 12 points to the Bills in the opener.
Kenny Golladay, WR, Detroit Lions: What a great day Golladay had in the opener. He finished with four receptions for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a win over the Cardinals, doing most of his damage in the fourth quarter.
Golladay gets a favorable matchup against the Giants in Week 2, and has earned himself significant playing time with that opening line. He’s one of the top WR pickups this week.
Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Speaking of top WR pickups, Kupp is also in that conversation. He was targeted six times in the opening blowout over the Colts, catching four passes for 76 yards and a TD.
Kupp’s 76 yards were the most by a receiver for either team, and he’s heading into a favorable matchup versus the Redskins this week. He’s got a bright future ahead of him this year.
Kerwynn Williams, RB, Arizona Cardinals: Fantasy owners who grabbed David Johnson at the top of the draft board this year were hit with awful news this week following his wrist injury in the opener. You don’t have to look too far to find Johnson’s replacement, though, as Williams should earn plenty of playing time in the absence.
We’re likely looking at an RB-by-committee approach in Arizona, but Williams likely has the most upside as he’s a first- and second-down between-the-tackles runner. He gets a bad Colts defense this week and will probably get plenty of touches in mop-up time.
