Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) Winning Lineup for 4/15/18

USA TODAY Sports

C-  Yadier Molina (C St. Louis Cardinals) Molina shockingly went 0 for 4 on April 14 but he traditionally kills the Reds as several Cardinals hitters do.  Molina is having a banner year at age 35 hitting .288 with 5 HR, 7 R, and 11 RBI.  Molina is a whopping 15 for 39 with 3 2B, 3 HR, 5 R, and 6 RBI vs Homer Bailey (SP Cincinnati Reds).

Please note that Fan Duel only requires you to start a 1B/C so technically you never have to start a catcher.

Alternate C: Gary Sanchez (C New York Yankees) is heating up and faces 2 left handed starters tomorrow in Francisco Liriano (SP Detroit Tigers) and Matthew Boyd (SP Detroit Tigers).  There’s a good chance he DH’s in 1 game and catches the other game.  You probably want to start him in 1 Fan Duel or Draft Kings lineup in one of their 2 games on April 15’s doubleheader.  Sanchez is 3 for 7 with a 2B and a run vs Liriano and 1 for 2 with a 2 run HR vs Boyd.

1B-  Jose Martinez (1B/OF St. Louis Cardinals) is 3 for 4 with 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 R, and 5 RBI vs Homer Bailey (SP Cincinnati Reds).  Martinez and Yadier Molina have been the most consistent hitters for the Cardinals all season and you have to love this matchup vs Homer Bailey.

Alternate 1B: Paul Goldschmidt (1B Arizona Diamondbacks) has been absolutely tearing the cover off the ball lately at 9 for 21 with 3 HR, 7 R, and 7 RBI in his last 5 games.  Goldschmidt is 10 for 46 with 2 2B, 2 HR, 5 R, and 8 RBI vs Clayton Kershaw (SP Los Angeles Dodgers). When Goldschmidt is on, it doesn’t matter who he is facing.  Don’t let Clayton Kershaw scare you away.  Trust me, Paul Goldschmidt is not scared.

2B-  Ozzie Albies (2B Atlanta Braves) has been a 21 year old sensation thus far this season.  Albies went 3 for 5 on April 14 with 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 R, and 4 RBI and he was batting .288 with 4 HR, 13 R, and 7 RBI going into the April 14th game.  Albies had brutal matchups this week vs the Nationals and Cubs starting staffs and did not disappoint one bit.  Albies is quickly becoming an elite player at a very young age.

Alternate 2B: Kolten Wong (2B St. Louis Cardinals or Greg Garcia (2B/3B St. Louis Cardinals).  Garcia might get the nod over Wong on April 15 again after hitting 2 HR on April 14.  Wong is having a rough season but is 6 for 12 with 2 2B, 1 3B, 3 R, and 3 RBI vs Homer Bailey (SP Cincinnati Reds)

SS- Jean Segura (SS Seattle Mariners) is 7 for 18 with 1 HR, 5 R, and 5 RBI in his last 4 games and is 3 for 10 with 4 runs vs Sean Manaea (SP Oakland Athletics).  Segura has really come into his own the last few years and is considered a top level SS at this point in his career.  The Mariners lineup is hot and I expect Segura to be the table setter he normally is with his outstanding .348 BA going into the April 14th game.

Alternate SS:  Marcus Semien (SS Oakland Athletics) for whatever reason is one of the few A’s hitters who has Felix Hernandez’s number.  Semien is 8 for 28 with 4 HR, 6 R, and 5 RBI vs Felix Hernandez (SP Seattle Mariners).  Semien should be available in most daily fantasy leagues.

3B-  Matt Carpenter (1B/3B St. Louis Cardinals) is an obscene 18 for 33 with 3 2B, 6 R, and 4 RBI vs Homer Bailey (SP Cincinnati Reds).  Carpenter is batting under .200 this year which should make him a cheaper option in Fan Duel or Draft Kings lineups.

Alternate 3B: Greg Garcia (2B/3B St. Louis Cardinals). Garcia might get the nod over Wong on April 15 again after hitting 2 HR on April 14.  If Garcia doesn’t start, then go Nick Castellanos (3B/OF Detroit Tigers) vs Luis Cessa (SP New York Yankees).  I feel Castellanos will do some damage over Cessa who is 4 for 9 in his last 2 games.  Kyle Seager (3B Seattle Mariners) is white hot but has awful career numbers vs tough lefty Sean Manaea (SP Oakland Athletics).

OF-  Mitch Haniger (OF Seattle Mariners) is white hot right now going 4 for 9 with 2 HR, 2 R, and 7 RBI in his last 2 games and is also 4 for 9 with 1 3B, 1 R, and 2 RBI vs Sean Manaea (SP Oakland Athletics).  Haniger is matching his April from last season but really tailed off in the 2nd half.  Hopefully Haniger is not like Jake Lamb (3B Arizona Diamondbacks) where he’s only a good 1st half hitter.  Only time will tell.

OF- Tommy Pham (OF St. Louis Cardinals) is a whopping 9 for 16 with 1 HR, 6 R, 3 RBI, and 3 SB in his last 4 games.  Pham is 3 for 5 with 2 runs and a RBI vs Homer Bailey (SP Cincinnati Reds).

OF-  Aaron Judge (OF New York Yankees) ($4800) is 10 for 24 with 1 HR, 7 R, 4 RBI, and even 1 SB in his last 6 games.  Judge is doing it all right now and is 1 for 3 with a 2 run HR vs Francisco Liriano (SP Detroit Tigers)

Alternate OF: Take your pick here as all are good options on April 15.  Dexter Fowler (OF St. Louis Cardinals), JD Martinez (OF Boston Red Sox), Gregory Polanco (OF Pittsburgh Pirates), George Springer (OF Houston Astros), and Michael Conforto (OF New York Mets).  Polanco and Conforto are cooling down but have good numbers vs their opposing starting pitchers on April 15.  Fowler, Martinez, and Springer are heating up.  Khris Davis (OF Oakland Athetics) is also white hot but has awful career numbers vs Felix Hernandez (SP Seattle Mariners).

U-    Nelson Cruz (U Seattle Mariners).  Cruz officially came off the DL on April 14 and owns Sean Manaea (SP Oakland Athletics) at 6 for 13 with 2 HR, 2 R, and 6 RBI vs the tough lefty.  Cruz is coming off the DL at the perfect time as multiple Mariners hitters are white hot.

Alternate U: I would pick one of my alternate OF as my choice for alternate U.  I will choose George Springer (OF Houston Astros) as he is heating up at 4 for 9 with 2 HR, 3 R, and 2 RBI in his last 2 games.  Springer was ICE cold for most of the season and is actually hitting .196 before his 2 for 5 effort on April 14.

SP-  My strategy with this Fan Duel or Draft Kings lineup is so many people around the world will go with one of the many stud SP going on April 15.  There are 10 stud SP pitching on April 15.  I will choose a streamer SP at a very cheap price and try to win with my stacked hitting.  If my streamer SP has a very good game I should win some money in Fan Duel and/or Draft Kings.  Ivan Nova (SP Pittsburgh Pirates) is facing the Miami Marlins so he will probably cost a little more.  Therefore, my choice will be Joey Lucchesi (SP San Diego Padres).  Lucchesi has been awesome in his last 2 starts shutting out the potent Colorado Rockies offense both times in 11 innings of work.  Lucchesi also had 15 K and only 4 BB and 5 hits in his last 2 starts.  He’s pitching at Petco Park vs a very average Giants offense.

Alternate SP:  Ivan Nova (SP Pittsburgh Pirates), Felix Hernandez (SP Seattle Mariners), or Blake Snell (SP Tampa Bay Rays).  I will lean towards Nova but I would pick the cheapest option on Fan Duel or Draft Kings and would be fine picking any one of these 3 starting pitchers on April 15.  I feel all 3 SP will have good games.
