The 2018 Valero Texas Open

We make our way to Texas for the Valero Texas Open, and it’s time to put together a DraftKings lineup that has a chance to cashout. With a salary of $50,000 and six slots to fill, here goes.
USA TODAY Sports
Charley Hoffman - Charley Hoffman is my strongest pick to win the tournament this week, as he enters in great form and has finished no worse than 13th in five of his last six appearances at this event. Hoffman is a bit expensive at $10,900, but he’s worth it, and we’ll find value elsewhere to fill out the rest of the lineup.
Kevin Na - Kevin Na hasn’t had a strong showing since the Genesis Open, but he has back-to-back top-20 finishes in San Antonio and usually doesn’t put together rough performances for long stretches. Na is 12th in eagles (holes per) and 25th in sand save percentage. Na is a strong play at $7,800.
Bill Haas - Bill Haas is usually a bit higher on these boards but because of his struggles, you get him at $7,600. Perfect time to buy. Haas is coming off his best two rounds of golf of the season and produced a seventh place finish at the RBC Heritage. While he has no course history, Haas has given fantasy owners 80-plus points in two of his last four tires. I’ll take that in this spot.
Harris English - Harris English is another player who has had hiccups here and there, but he’s been a fantasy steal at times and provides great value at a price of $7,600. After making the cut in four of his last six events and coming off a 32nd place finish last week, it feels like English is ready for a breakout performance, making him a sneaky play this week.
Martin Laird - Martin Laird is another guy I’m betting on this weekend to win the tournament, as he’s quietly put together some solid performances and returns to an event where he’s finished 18th or better in three of his last five events. Laird won this event back in 2013, and he’s finished with 60-plus fantasy points in four of his last five tries. He’s a value play this week at $8,000.
Jimmy Walker - Jimmy Walker is well rested after not playing last week and finishing 20th in the Masters. Walker has great history in San Antonio, as he’s finished 16th or better in his last three times making the cut, which includes a win in 2015. Expect some big numbers from Walker this week, making a $8,200 price a steal.
