Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup - 4/26/18

Update (4:13pm) - I was worried that one of my Red Sox would be left out of the line up and it looks like Jackie Bradley Jr. will be getting the night off.To accomidate for this, I decided to pick up a few LHB Royals who are going against Lucas Giolito tonight who comes into this matchup wtih a 9.00 ERA. I put Abraham Almonte, who has a 4-game hitting streak while going 6 for 13 during that span in as my third OF at $2,600. I ended up getting rid of Chris Davis at my utility spot and put another "boom or bust" player in their in Lucas Duda who is batting 5th tonight and costs $2,400.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

It’s Tuesday April 26th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for today’s main slate (7:05 EST) for tonight MLB FanDuel contests.

It’s finally a nice baseball weather day as currently, it doesn’t look like any games have the possibility of being rained out tonight!

As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing that night!

Yesterday Recap: Not the greatest night yesterday as I went heavy with the Tex/Oak game and although Khris Davis did hit a HR and Joey Gallo didn’t record out, I just wasn’t the high scoring slugfest I was counting on. Also….Matt Boyd…..who I took a chance on didn’t pan out as put up his worst performance of the season against the Pirates. Either way, nights like this happened and they say in golf, it’s best to have a short memory and move on to the next shot.

Here is my current lineup for today:

It’s a small slate tonight as only 4 games are going and I’m going to be targeting many Brewers and Red Sox on my offensive end tonight. I know the Red Sox haven’t fared well against Estrada in the past, however, Estrada is battling a sore back and has been hit hard his last two games and is giving up a ton of HR’s so far this season. You’ll notice below that have both Martinez and Moreland in my lineup which is tough for the Red Sox to both get into the starting line up without sitting another regular so keep a close eye when the Red Sox roster is released.  As for the Brewers, LHB’s have been real trouble for the Cubs Kyle Hendricks and as he is also giving up a lot of longballs, trying to get Milwaukee’s LHB in your lineup tonight is a solid choice.

P – Dylan Bundy (Bal - $9,700) – Chris Sale dominated the Blue Jays last year, however, as I want to be able to afford some big bats tonight, I’m going with Dylan Bundy who I really like tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays. Bundy is the clear cut ace of the Baltimore staff now and has been incredible this year as he comes into this game with an impressive 1.42 ERA. Bundy is a great daily fantasy target with his ability to rake up K’s as he has 40 strikeouts in his 5 starts this season and is posting a very nice 11.4 K/9 ratio. Bundy is holding RHB’s to just a .094 average on the season and in his career against the currently Tampa Bay roster, he is holding them to just a .147 average while striking them out 35% of the time.

C/1B – Mitch Moreland (Bos - $3,000) – You’ll have to make sure Moreland gets the start tonight, however, as he is going up against the RHP Marco Estrada, I expect Alex Cora to move the lineup around a bit to get the hot-hitting Moreland in the lineup. Moreland comes into this game hitting .341 with 2 HR’s and 11 RBI’s which includes hitting .308 over the past week. Moreland has an impressive 1.031 OPS against RHB this season and does have a HR in his career against Estrada.

2B – Brock Holt (Bos - $2,700) -  I’m going to ride the hot bat of Brock Holt tonight as the Red Sox utility player has been seeing the ball great as he comes into this game with on an 8-game hit streak. Holt has is hitting .327 on the season with a HR and 7 RBI’s and has been especially on fire as of late as over his last two games, he is 6 for 8 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s. Holt has a .302 average against RHP’s on the season and although Estrada has given him trouble, I think tonight’s the night the Red Sox and Brock Holt figure Estrada out.

3B – Travis Shaw (Mil - $4,300) – Milwaukee suffered a tough injury blow with Eric Thames going down with a hand injury, however, lucky they have Travis Shaw in the middle of their lineup as Shaw has been a force for the Brewers this season. Shaw is hitting .286 with 5 HR’s and 14 RBI’s on the season but has tearing the cover off the ball as of late as he is hitting .389 with 2 doubles, 3 HR’s and 7 RBI’s over the past week. Shaw will be facing off against Kyle Hendricks who is allowing LHB’s to hit .294 against on the season and between the fact that Shaw is hitting .352 vs. RHP and that he has a career .333 average with 3 HR’s against  Hendricks, makes Shaw with the high-price tag on Thursday.

SS – Orlando Arcia (Mil - $2,300) – Pure value pick here as I was trying to conserve some money for my OF and looking for a player who has the potential to hit a HR.  Arcia was back in the lineup last night after missing a few games due to injury and although he is hitting just .205 on the season, he does have 2 HR’s on the season and showed us last year after hitting 15 HR’s that he certainly has enough power to get out of the stadium on any given night. Arcia has actually hit RHP’s a lot better this season and although he hasn’t fared well against Hendricks in the past, I think the fact that we can get a SS with some HR power for $2,300 is decent value.

OF – J.D. Martinez (Bos - $4,000) – Mookie was just a bit too expensive to get in my lineups tonight, however, I’m certainly not disappointed finding the salary for J.D. Martinez who is overdue for a HR. Martinez is having a nice start to his Red Sox career as he comes into this game with a .296 average with 4 HR’s and 15 RBI’s. Martinez had a couple rough games this past weekend but looked like he got back on track last night with a 1 for 2 performance with 2 BB’s and has posted a .297 average and .925 OPS against RHP this season. Estrada is giving up 6 HR’s in 18 IP this season and as J.D. Martinez was my “long ball lock” of the day, I think he is going to have a nice night up in Toronto.

OF – Christian Yelich (Mil - $4,000) – Christian Yelich was happy to get out of Miami this offseason and it looks like the talented center fielder is settling in nicely with the Brew Crew as he comes into this game with a .320 average with 2 HR’s and 8 RBI’s. Although Yelich hasn’t fared well in the past against Hendricks, the Chicago right-hander has really struggled against LHB’s this season and with giving up HR’s so I like the Milwaukee LHB’s with the wind blowing out at Wrigley.  Yelich has also hit RHP’s well this season, coming into this matchup with a .300 average (9-30) and a .947 OPS.

OF – Jackie Bradley Jr. (Bos - $2,500) – I’m going back to the Red Sox and taking Jackie Bradley Jr. to get another LHB in my line up against Marco Estrada. Jackie Bradley Jr. is as streaky as a hitter as they come but when he gets going, he can get going quick and if you’ve seen his HR’s this season, they’ll been absolute moon shots. Jackie has picked up hits in two of his last three games and has a decent .762 OPS against RHP this season.  Both of Bradley Jr’s home runs have come on the road this season and as he does have a HR off Estrada in the past, I think he has some nice value at $2,500 tonight.

Utility – Chris Davis (Bal - $2,500) – For my Utility spot tonight…I’m going with Mr. Boom or Bust himself, Chris Davis. As with many of my picks which I need to find a bargain with, I try to find someone that has the ability to put up a big number with a couple long balls, and although Davis is tough to watch at times, he certainly fits that bill. I went with Davis tonight as he is going against Chris Archer of the Rays who has struggled this season against LHB’s as he is allowing them to hit .362 against him on the season. Davis has seen plenty of Archer in his career so he shouldn’t be surprised with anything Archer brings at him tonight and for the fact that Davis has 3 HR’s in his career him, I think he has some decent value at $2,500.

Good Luck Tonight!
