Pitchers

High Cost:

Jose Berrios (Minnesota Twins - $8,400) – Jose Berrios might have been hit hard in his last two outings, however, there is no doubting the talent that this right-hander has and I love him in his matchup against the White Sox on Friday. Berrios still has a solid 3.63 ERA and .092 WHIP to go along with a solid 9.4 K/9 ratio. Berrios gets to go up against the White Sox who he has absolutely owned in his career as the currently White Sox lineup is hitting just .176 (9 for 83) against him while striking out 47% for the time! Berrios had his best game of the season earlier against the White Sox, going 7 innings giving up no runs while striking out 11 and as his price hasn’t gone up as of late due to his last two shaky starts, I think Berrios is the pitcher to roster if you want to spend up a bit tonight.

Low Cost:

Nick Kingham (Pittsburgh Pirates -$8,000) – I was originally thinking of going with Mike Foltynewicz of the Braves as he has had a nice season so far, however, I just can’t ignore how about everyone in the Giants lineup has seemed to hit him hard so I’m going to what will most-likely be a popular pick in Nick Kingham who is coming off one of the best MLB Debuts ever. Kingham was masterful in victory over the Cardinals last Sunday as he went 7 innings, giving up no runs on 1 hit while striking out 9. The Brewers have some talent in that lineup however, with Kingham coming in at this price, I’d be kicking myself if he throws another gem in which we would certainly see his price go up again.

Hitters

I’m just going to get it out there now, basically, I like every New York Yankees tomorrow night as they wind will be blowing out at Yankee Stadium and they will be up against Josh Tomlin who had a 9.68 ERA and a 5.1 HR/9 ratio. I do want to get Berrios in my lineup so I can’t go with every big Yankee bat, however, there is a ton of value I think with any of the Yankees tomorrow.

Catchers/1st base

High Cost:

Gary Sanchez (New York Yankees - $4,200) – Gary Sanchez is really hitting the ball well as of late and although he is hitting just .208 on the season, the slugging catcher has 8 HR’s, 27 RBI’s, and 20 runs scored so far on the season. Tomlin is giving up HR’s it seems on every other pitch and as Sanchez has 3 HR’s and a .411 wOBA over the past week, he is someone to look at if you’re paying up at the position tonight.

Low Cost:

Brandon Belt/Mitch Moreland (San Francisco Giants/Boston Red Sox - $3,600/$3,600) – Brandon Belt is having a nice season with the Giants as he is hitting .304 with 6 HR’s and 15 RBI’s on the season and is hitting .304 over the past week. Belt has had great success against Mike Foltynewicz as in his career, he is 5 for 12 (.417 average) with 3 HR’s and 3 RBI’s. Mitch Moreland is also another good option as he has been hitting .323 on the year and has a .409 wOBA with 2 HR’s over the past week. Moreland is hitting .340 vs RHP and is up against Bartolo Colon of the Rangers on Friday and is 4 for 15 with 2 HR’s against in his career.

2nd base

High Cost:

Jed Lowrie – (Oakland Athletics -$4,300) – Jed Lowrie is not getting talked about enough for the season he is having with the Athletics as the veteran 2B comes into this game with a .341 average with 8 HR’s and 30 RBI’s on the season. Lowrie has a nice matchup against Mike Leake of the Mariners who comes into this game with a 6.48 ERA and 1.62 HR/9. Lowrie has been his best as a LHB which he will be against Leake as he is hitting .374 with an outstanding 1.117 OPS.

Low Cost:

Gleyber Torres – (New York Yankees -$2,900) – As I mentioned, you’ll be seeing a lot of Yankees in this article today, however, I think Torres is one of the Yankees that has great value tomorrow. Torres has been solid since being called up about 2 weeks against comes into this game with a .316 average. Torres hasn’t had a HR and only has 3 RBI’s, however, I think it’s only a matter of time that those numbers start to rise as he is in that dangerous New York lineup and although he is batting near the bottom of the order, still should get some nice opportunities to drive in some runs. Torres is hitting .308 against RHP on the season and as Tomlin can give up HR’s, I like Torres at this price.

Shortstop

High Cost:

Francisco Lindor - (Cleveland Indians -$4,600) – Could easily go with Didi Gregorius here, however, provide so other players that aren’t wearing the pinstripes, I’m looking at Francisco Lindor of the Cleveland Indians. Lindor who although comes into this game with just a .264 average, he has still done a nice job providing offensive for the Indians as he has 5 HR’s on the season with 12 RBI’s, 21 runs scored, and 5 SB’s. Lindor is hitting .387 with 2 HR’s and 3 RBI’s over the past week and is hitting .333 as a RHB which he will be tomorrow going against the LHP CC Sabathia of the Yankees. Sabathia has pitched well on the year however, Lindor has had some success against him has a .556 average (5 for 9 ) and a 1.27 OPS.

Low Cost:

Brandon Crawford (San Francisco Giants -$2,200) – Brandon Crawford has struggled this year as he is hitting just .204 however, he has his dream matchup tomorrow against Mike Foltynewicz who he had crushed throughout his career.  In his career against Foltynewicz, Crawford is an incredible 6 for 12 with 3 HR’s and 4 RBI’s. Crawford comes into this game swing a better bat as he is 3 for 8 with 3 RBI’s over his last two games and as he has a career 1.870 OPS against Foltynewicz, he is a great value play on Friday.

3rd Base

High Cost:

Eugenio Suarez (Cincinnati Reds - $4,000) – Eugenio Suarez missed about two weeks’ worth of action in the middle of April due to an injury however, the Reds 3rd baseman has been great since returning and comes into this game with a solid .315 average with 3 HR’s and 17 RBI’s. Wei-Yin Chen had a nice start to his season, however, hasn’t been great against RHB’s over his last three seasons as h is allowing RHB’s to have a .791 OPS. Chen is certainly can give up some HR’s as he has a career 1.3 HR/9 ratio and as I like Saurez at home with the wind blowing out, I think he is worth the extra cost at 3B on Friday.

Low Cost:

Cheslor Cuthbert (Kansas City Royals - $2,600) – Cheslor Cuthbert came through for me yesterday in my daily fantasy lineup and as he will be going up against LHP on Friday, I think he shows some good value. Cuthbert is hitting just .221 on the season, however, he does have 3 HR’s and has fared well against LHP as he has a .333 average against them. Cuthbert has been hitting well as of late as all three of his HR’s have been over the past week and he has the LHP Francisco Liriano on the mount tomorrow in which he is 2 for 7 against lifetime.

Outfielders

High Cost:

Aaron Judge/Giancarlo Stanton (New York Yankees -$4,600/$4,900) – I’m going with New York’s bash brothers in Judge and Stanton just with their great matchup against Mike Tomlin of the Indians tomorrow. Judge is hitting .312 on the season with 7 HR’s and although it’s been more of a struggle for Stanton, he showed us what he can do last night after belting two HR’s off Dallas Keuchel of the Astros. With Mike Tomlin on the mound and the wind blowing out at Yankees Stadium tomorrow night, I won’t be surprised if many people make room to afford both Judge and Stanton in their lineups.

Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels -$5,500) – When it comes to the “high-cost” players in the OF, you really don’t have to go too deep into their numbers as you know that basically against anyone, they’re a good option and that certainly is the case with Mike Trout who is arguably the best player in the game. Trout is hitting .292 on the season with 11 HR’s and 19 RBI’s and has a nice good matchup against Mike Leake of the Mariners on Friday. Leake has really struggled this season and as he is allowing RHB’s to hit .300 against him while Trout as actually hit RHP’s better so far this season, posting a .299 average, I think Trout will send one out of Safeco Field tomorrow night.

Low Cost:

Matt Joyce (Oakland Athletics - $2,500) – Matt Joyce is hitting just .205 on the season however, he left-handed Joyce is always a good play if you’re looking to save money when he is up against a RHP that gives up HR’s and that is the case on Friday night with Baltimore’s Andrew Casher. Casher has a 4.86 ERA and a 1.85 HR/9 ratio on the year and while Joyce only has 2 HR’s on the season, he has hit Casher hard over his career as Joyce is 3 for 7 with 2 HR’s against the right-hander.

Carlos Gonzalez (Colorado Rockies - $2,500) – Carlos Gonzalez came back from his injury on Tuesday and as the Rockies will be going up agianst the RHP Zack Wheeler of the New York Mets, I expect to see Gonzalez getting the start on Friday. Gonzalez is hitting just .233 on the season however, does have 3 HR’s and is always a threat to hit a HR. Gonzalez has done all his damage agianst RHP on the season and has a .299 average and .909 OPS against RHP over the past three seasons.
