KC Masterpiece 400: Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 8:00 pm (Kansas Speedway) See the Latest Odds
We hand out winners most weeks in NASCAR, so it’s only right we put together a fantasy lineup in hopes of cashing out there as well. This is the lineup for this weeks KC Masterpiece 400 and will take place on DraftKings.
We have six slots to fill and $50,000 to spend.
Ryan Newman, $7,900 - Ryan Newman is a guy you can consistently get for cheap this season, and he’s produced 46 or more fantasy points in two of the last four weeks. In terms of this event, Newman has finished 15th or better in five of the seven tries, so this is somebody you can get rather cheap and still get decent production from.
Kurt Busch, $8,400 - Kurt Busch is in his best form of the season, as he finished second in Talladega and fifth last week in Dover. Busch has also finished eighth or better in four of his last six appearances at the Kansas Speedway. Look for Busch to have another solid showing, as he’s given us no less than 47 fantasy points each of the last three weeks.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., $7,300 - With a lot of the better drivers so crazy priced this week, you have to go finishing for value plays. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has quietly put together top-five finishes in two of the last four weeks, making him a solid fantasy play. Stenhouse doesn’t have any breakthrough performances in Kansas, but he has finished 13th or better in three of his five appearances at this event. We just need Stenhouse to finish in that range to be worth this play, as the rest of our team can carry us home.
Ryan Blaney, $8,800 - Ryan Blaney has top-10 finishes in four of his last seven races and has finished seventh or better in four of his five appearances at the Kansas Speedway. You get the feeling this could be Blaney’s first victory of the season when you combine his current form with his history at this track.
Aric Almirola, $8,600 - Aric Almirola has given us 46 or more fantasy points in three of the last four weeks, including his breakthrough performance at the GEICO 500 when he had 71 points at just an $8,100 price. Almirola is consistently in the middle of the pack, producing strong finishes, and he has four career top-10 finishes at the Kansas Speedway despite limited history. Almirola is a safe play who won’t hurt your team.
Clint Bowyer, $9,000 - Clint Bowyer is coming off a runner-up finish last week and has finished ninth or better in five of his last six races. Boyer finished ninth in this race last year and has had a few close calls at the Kansas Speedway overall. Bowyer has produced 45 or more fantasy points in six of his last eight events. Can’t go wrong with this play to finish up your team.
