Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 5/29/2018

Update (5:35pm) - Going to have to replace a few players here as Dvid Dahl and John Ryan Murphy aren't getting the starts today.

I've made a few changes and going with a mini Red Sox stack tonight.

2B - Replacing Jose Altuve with Dustin Pedroia (BOS) - Pedroia has a .452 (14-31) average against Estrada and I think the Red Sox are in for a solid offensive night so I like him at the 6-spot.

SS - Replaced Jordy Mercer with Daniel Robertson - Has 5 HR's on the season and has a solid matchup against Daniel Gossett who has been hit hard in his few starts this season.

OF - Replaced David Dahl with Andrew Benintendi (BOS) - As I mentioned I like the Red Sox offense tonight and Benintendi has been raking lately.

Utility - Replaced John Ryan Murphy with J.D. Davis - J.D. has a ton of power and HR upside and in actually hitting .304 on the road this season.

The only player we still have to confirm is Daniel Robertson however, I imagine he'll be a go tonight.

Good Luck everyone!

Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup - 5/29/18

It’s Tuesday May 29th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.

As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!

If you want to sneak peak of my lineup before this article is released, remember to check out my video posted on Sports Chat Place Facebook page!

Here is my current lineup for today:

P – Blake Snell (TB- $8,700) – I’m still shocked that Blake Snell hasn’t past the $9,000 salary range as the Tampa Bay left-hander has been dealing so far this season. Snell comes into his matchup against Oakland with a 6-3 record while posting a 2.78 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Snell has allowed 2 or fewer ER’s in 8 of his 10 starts this season and is holding his opponents to just a .195 average. Snell has strikeout stuff as he has a 9.6 K/9 ratio and I love his potential tonight to pile up K’s against the same A’s team that struck out 16 times against the left-handed James Paxton earlier this season.

C/1B – Evan Gattis (HOU- $2,500) – It took a while for Evan Gattis to get it going this season but the slugging DH for the Astros has looked good as of late and currently is hitting .234 on the season with 6 HR’s and 22 RBI’s. Gattis is hitting .364 (8 for 22) over the past the week with 2 HR’s and 7 RBI’s and has had a decent May as he is hitting .281 on the month. Gattis will be up against the left-handed CC Sabathia of the New York Yankees who has struggled as of late as over his past three starts he has given up 13 ER in just 13.1 IP while also giving up 4 HR’s. Gattis is 1 for 3 lifetime with a HR against Sabathia and as he will be at the hitters friendly Yankee Stadium, I like Gattis at this price tonight.

2B – Jose Altuve (HOU - $4,100) – It’s amazing the expectations that Jose Altuve has on his shoulders nowadays as although the all-start second baseman has been hitting above .300 in all but one game of the season, so still considered he was off to a slow start. Well….worry no longer as Altuve has been on a tear as of late and currently is hitting .329 on the season with 4 HR’s, 29 RBI’s, and 6 SB’s. Altuve is hitting .406 with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 2 HR’s over the past week and has been outstanding on the road this season hitting for a .395 average. Altuve has struggled a bit against LHP on the season, however, as he has a .345 average and .945 OPS against LHP over the past three seasons, I’m sure those numbers will go up. Altuve is hitting .333 against CC Sabathia in his career and I think Altuve and Astros will have a solid game tonight.

3B – Matt Carpenter (STL - $3,800) – Matt Carpenter has finally found his swing and although he is hitting just .221 on the season he does have 6 HR’s and 19 RBI’s on the season. Carpenter is hitting .280 over the past week with 2 HR’s and actually hasn’t had an awful May as he has hit .291 on the month. Carpenter will be up against the RHP Zach Davies of the New York Mets who lasted just 4.0 innings in his last start and hasn’t been that impressive at home this season as he has posted a 4.50 ERA at Miller Park. Carpenter has a .909 OPS against RHP over his past three seasons and I don’t mind spending up on him tonight as in his career against Davies, Carpenter has posted a .429 average (9 for 21) with 2 HR’s and a 1.359 OPS.

SS – Jordy Mercer (PIT - $2,400) – I went with some value at SS today with Pittsburgh’s Jordy Mercer who comes into this game with a .250 average with 6 HR’s and 16 RBI’s. Mercer has hits in 7 of his last 8 games and has a respectable .278 average over the past week. Mercer will be up against the tough LHP Jon Lester of the Cubs on Tuesday, however, Lester always seems to struggle a bit against the Pirates as his worst start of the season this year as at home against the Pirates on 4/11 (5.0 IP. 7H, 4 ER, HR) and we can’t forgot last year’s disaster in which he lasted just 0.2 IP while giving up 6 hits and 4 ER’s. Lester can give up HR’s to RHB’s and as Mercer has a respectable .292 average (7 for 24) with 3 doubles and a HR against Lester in his career, I think there is some value with Mercer tonight.

OF – Gerardo Parra (COL- $3,300) – Colorado’s LHB’s will be a popular choice tonight with the Rockies home matchup against the Giants RHP Jeff Samardzija and I’ll take my chances with Gerardo Parra who comes into this game with a .275 average with 3 HR’s and 14 RBI’s. Parra has been solid against RHP on the season as he has posted a .292 with 2 HR’s and 11 RBI’s and should get some decent looks tonight as Samardzija is allowing LHB’s to post a .293 average and .960 OPS against him on the year. Parra has been tough against the Giants throughout the year as he is hitting .417 (5 for 12) against them and has crushed Samardzija in his career as he has posted a .394 average (13-33) with 2 HR’s and 7 RBI’s against the right-hander.

OF – David Dahl (COL - $3,600) – I’m going with another Rockies LHB in the David Dahl who currently is hitting .270 on the season with 3 HR’s and 11 RBI’s. Dahl currently has a 5-game hitting streak and has been great over the past week as he is hitting .316 with a HR and 4 RBI’s. Dahl has that nice matchup against Jeff Samardzija which we highlighted in our Gerardo Parra write-up and has been great against RHP on the season as he has posted a .328 average and .914 OPS against him. Dahl has posted a .349 average and 1.011 OPS at Coors Field this season and I expect to see him back in the lineup tonight after getting a day off yesterday.

OF – J.D. Martinez (BOS - $4,500) – J.D. Martinez has been one of the best players in MLB this season as the Red Sox outfielder comes into this game with a .320 average with 17 HR’s and 44 RBI’s. Martinez is a matchup nightmare for any pitcher however, he is my “Long Ball Lock” today as he will be seeing the Blue Jays Marco Estrada for the 3rd time already this season. Estrada has really struggled this season as he has a 5.40 ERA and 1.44 WHIP and has really been hurt by RHB’s who have a .304 average and .917 OPS against him on the season. Martinez has a 1.099 OPS vs. RHP’s and has been crushing at Fenway as he has a .344 average and 1.169 OPS at home this year. Martinez already had a HR off Estrada on the road earlier this season and I don’t mind paying up for him tonight as I think he’ll have a big game.

Utility – John Ryan Murphy (ARZ - $2,100) – As I spent up for J.D. Martinez I only had $2,100 left so I needed to find some value and decided to go with John Ryan Murphy of the Arizona who has been a surprising source of power for the Diamondbacks so far this season. With Alex Avila’s struggles, Murphy has seen more and more playing time as of late and even batted in the 3rd sport of the batting order as the DH in their recent series at Oakland. Murphy started yesterday against the RHP which is encouraging and the move paid off as he has a HR. Murphy has HR’s in 3 of the last 4 games he has started and although we’ll need to confirm he is playing, I think has some great value tonight at just $2,100.

Have a great Tuesday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
