Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB DraftKings Lineup – 6/4/2018
It’s Monday June 4th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:10 EST) for the MLB DraftKings contest.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing this afternoon!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Julio Teheran (ATL - $9,800) – As it’s a small slate tonight, there are limited options for our pitchers tonight however, I think there is some nice value with Atlanta’s Julio Teheran who had a solid matchup against the San Diego Padres tonight. Teheran comes into this game with a 4-3 record while posting a 4.03 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Teheran generally pitches better on the road and currently has a 3.18 ERA while holding opponents to just a .178 average away from home this season. Teheran is not a big strikeout guy but has a respectable 7.3 K/9 ratio while the Padres currently rank 28th in team strikeout rate. Atlanta should be decent favorites against San Diego’s Clayton Richard tonight and as I think Teheran get us 6 innings with a quality start, win, and a few keys, I think he is the best option on the board tonight.
P – Danny Duffy (KC - $4,700) – It’s been a tough season for Danny Duffy but on a short slate where there aren’t many great options, I like Duffy as my 2nd pitcher tonight as he has upside and will allow us to spend up some hitters tonight. Duffy comes into this game with a 5.71 ERA and 1.58 WHIP however, has pitched much better as of late as over his last two starts he has gone 13.2 innings, giving up 2 ER’s on 8 hits while striking out 9. Duffy is holding the current Angels roster to just a .220 batting average and pitched well on the road in his last start against the Rangers, getting 25.7 points. Duffy has the ability to put together a good game and I think he’s worth the chance as if he can limit the damage done by Trout and Upton, I think he is a great value play tonight.
C – John Ryan Murphy (ARI - $3,700) – John Ryan Murphy has been a nice surprise for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season as the 5-year veteran comes into tonight’s game with a .265 average with 8 HR’s and 17 RBI’s and with the struggles of Alex Avila, has found himself getting regular playing time over the past couple weeks. Murphy has a nice matchup against the LHP Derek Holland of the Giants who is allowing RHB’s to post a .517 slugging percentage and .852 OPS against him on the season. Murphy is hitting .429 with 3 HR’s over the past week and has been incredible against LHP on the season as he has posted a .361 average, .833 slugging %, and 1.194 OPS against them.
1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARI - $4,800) – Paul Goldschmidt is hitting just .208 on the season with 8 HR’s and 20 RBI’s however, I think its only a matter of time in which the career .293 hitter gets it going for the Diamondbacks. Goldschmidt has been a bit better as of late as he has hits in 7 of his last 9 games including 3 HR’s. Goldschmidt has a nice matchup agianst the LHP Derek Holland of the San Francisco Giants who had a 4.94 ERA and has struggled with HR’s as he has given up 40 HR’s in his last 37 starts. Even with Goldschmidt’s struggles, he still is hitting LHB’s well as he has a .309 average, .745 slugging percentage, and 1.160 OPS against them on the year. Goldschmidt has always fared well at AT&T Park as over his past three seasons he has posted a .311 average with a .877 OPS.
2B – Gleyber Torres (NYY - $4,900) – Not even the most optimistic of the Yankee fans could imagine the start that Gleyber Torres has in his short career as the Yankees top prospect currently is hitting .317 with 9 HR’s and 27 RBI’s in just 120 AB’s. I’m going to be stacking the Yankees tonight against Detroit’s Mike Fiers who got hit hard by the Yankees earlier this season and currently is posting a 4.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Torres has been hitting everyone hard this season and currently has a .310 average with a .969 OPS against RHP on the year. Torres has also been solid on the road this year posting a .321 average with a 1.073 OPS on the road and could add to those numbers tonight as the wind will be blowing out hard to left-field.
3B – Johan Camargo (ATL - $3,300) – All it takes is to have a little family by your side as since Johan Camargo’s mother came to visit from Panama, the switch-hitting third baseman has been on a HR tear. Camargo has posted just a .224 average with 5 HR’s and 19 RBI’s on the season however, he is hitting .267 over the past week with 3 HR’s and 6 RBI’s. I like Camargo’s matchup against Clayton Richard who comes into this game with a 4.74 ERA and has given up 9 HR’s to RHB’s on the season. Camargo has been hitting better as a LHB this season, however, he had is first home run this season as a RHB the other night and he has shown in the past that he can produce against LHP as in 72 AB’s last season as a RHB, Camargo posted a .403 average with a 1.128 OPS.
SS – Brandon Crawford (SFG - $3,900) – Brandon Crawford has such a bad April that his price dropped to just $2,200 at one point however, Crawford quickly put that slow start behind him and currently comes into this game with a .314 average with 6 HR’s and 24 RBI’s. Crawford posted a ridiculous .412 average and 1.064 OPS in the month of May and still is swinging a solid bat as he has a .296 average over the past week. Crawford will be up against Zack Godley of the Arizona Diamondbacks who although started off the season strong, hasn’t been as sharp as of late and currently has a 4.38 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. Crawford is 2 for 4 with 2 BB’s against Godley in his career and I think the Giants are going to find some success of Godley tonight at home.
OF – Aaron Judge (NYY - $5,800) – I couldn’t afford Judge in my FanDuel lineup but was able to work him in my DraftKings lineup with the money as I save by taking Danny Duffy. Judge is hitting .284 on the season with 16 HR’s and 41 RBI’s and is hitting .333 with 2 HR’s over his past four games. Judge will be up agianst Mike Fiers who has given up a bunch of runs this season and is also posting a 1.8 HR/9 ratio. Judge has been much better as an RHB this season as he comes into this matchup with a .316 average, .638 Slugging Percentage, and 1.055 OPS against them. Judge is hitting .313 during night games on the season and I’m expecting a solid night from the Yankees slugger.
OF – Brett Gardner (NYY - $4,700) – To complete my Yankees outfield, I’m going to go with their speedy leadoff hitter, Brett Gardner. Gardner is hitting just .263 on the season with 4 HR’s and 18 RBI’s but has been on a tear as of late as he has posted a .421 average with 2 HR’s and 2 doubles over the past week. Over his last three games, Gardner is 8 for 15 and has posted a respectable .811 OPS against RHP on the season. Gardner has a .333 average (22 for 66) against Detroit over his past three seasons and as I’m banking on a big offensive night by the Yankees, I wanted to make sure I got their lead-off hitter in the mix.
OF – Aaron Hicks (NYY - $4,300) – As you might have noticed, I’m going with an all-Yankee outfield tonight against Mike Fiers and have to include Aaron Hicks who hit 2 HR’s off Fiers in the Yankees 8-6 victory over Fiers and the Tigers earlier this season. Hicks is steaky hitter but seems to be on a roll as of late as he is 6 for his last 11 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Hicks has hit better against RHP on the season ahas been much better on the road this season, posting a .352 average with a 1.054 OPS. Hicks has a lot of experience at Comerica Park in his days with the Twins as he has a .286 average against the Tigers over his past three seasons, I think Hicks has some nice value tonight at this price.
Have a great Monday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
