Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/4/2018
It’s Monday June 4th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:10 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing this afternoon!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Julio Teheran (ATL - $7,600) – As it’s a small slate tonight, there are limited options for our pitchers tonight however, I think there is some nice value with Atlanta’s Julio Teheran who had a solid matchup against the San Diego Padres tonight. Teheran comes into this game with a 4-3 record while posting a 4.03 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Teheran generally pitches better on the road and currently has a 3.18 ERA while holding opponents to just a .178 average away from home this season. Teheran is not a big strikeout guy but has a respectable 7.3 K/9 ratio while the Padres currently rank 28th in team strikeout rate. Atlanta should be decent favorites against San Diego’s Clayton Richard tonight and as I think Teheran get us 6 innings with a quality start, win, and a few keys, I think he is the best option on the board tonight.
C/1B – John Ryan Murphy (ARI - $3,300) – John Ryan Murphy has been a nice surprise for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season as the 5-year veteran comes into tonight’s game with a .265 average with 8 HR’s and 17 RBI’s and with the struggles of Alex Avila, has found himself getting regular playing time over the past couple weeks. Murphy has a nice matchup against the LHP Derek Holland of the Giants who is allowing RHB’s to post a .517 slugging percentage and .852 OPS against him on the season. Murphy is hitting .429 with 3 HR’s over the past week and has been incredible against LHP on the season as he has posted a .361 average, .833 slugging %, and 1.194 OPS against them.
2B – Gleyber Torres (NYY - $4,000) – Not even the most optimistic of the Yankee fans could imagine the start that Gleyber Torres has had as the Yankees top prospect currently is hitting .317 with 9 HR’s and 27 RBI’s in just 120 AB’s. I’m going to be stacking the Yankees tonight against Detroit’s Mike Fiers who got hit hard by the Yankees earlier this season and currently is posting a 4.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Torres has been hitting everyone hard this season and currently has a .310 average with a .969 OPS against RHP on the year. Torres has also been solid on the road this year posting a .321 average with a 1.073 OPS on the road and could add to those numbers tonight as the wind will be blowing out hard to left-field.
3B – Johan Camargo (ATL - $2,700) – All it takes is to have a little family by your side as since Johan Camargo’s mother came to visit from Panama, the switch-hitting third baseman has been on a HR tear. Camargo has posted just a .224 average with 5 HR’s and 19 RBI’s on the season however, he is hitting .267 over the past week with 3 HR’s and 6 RBI’s. I like Camargo’s matchup against Clayton Richard who comes into this game with a 4.74 ERA and has given up 9 HR’s to RHB’s on the season. Camargo has been hitting better as a LHB this season, however, he had is first home run this season as a RHB the other night and he has shown in the past that he can produce against LHP as in 72 AB’s last season as a RHB, Camargo posted a .403 average with a 1.128 OPS.
SS – Brandon Crawford (SFG - $3,300) – Brandon Crawford had such a bad April that his price dropped to just $2,200 at one point however, Crawford quickly put that slow start behind him and currently comes into this game with a .314 average with 6 HR’s and 24 RBI’s. Crawford posted a ridiculous .412 average and 1.064 OPS in the month of May and still is swinging a solid bat as he has a .296 average over the past week. Crawford will be up against Zack Godley of the Arizona Diamondbacks who although started off the season strong, hasn’t been as sharp as of late and currently has a 4.38 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. Crawford is 2 for 4 with 2 BB’s against Godley in his career and I think the Giants are going to find some success of Godley tonight at home.
OF – Giancarlo Stanton (NYY - $4,900) – I was originally going to go with Aaron Judge, but to pay up for Crawford, I needed to settle with Giancarlo Stanton which I’m not complaining about. Stanton is hitting just .248 on the season however, he still has shown the power that everyone knows he has as he currently has 12 HR’s and 31 RBI’s on the year. Stanton snapped his recent HR drought with a blast on Saturday against the Orioles and over his last three games is hitting .300 with a HR, 3 RBI’s, and 2 BB’s. Stanton will have the wind at his back tonight and has a decent matchup against Mike Fiers who comes into this game with a 1.8 HR/9 ratio. Stanton seems more comfortable on the road this season as he has posted a .298 average with a .942 OPS away from Yankee Stadium and as we all know Stanton can heat up in hurry, I’m hoping that he can have a big night tonight in Detroit.
OF – Aaron Hicks (LAA- $3,500) – As you might have noticed, I’m going with an all-Yankee outfield tonight against Mike Fiers and have to include Aaron Hicks who hit 2 HR’s off Fiers in the Yankees 8-6 victory over Fiers and the Tigers earlier this season. Hicks is steaky hitter but seems to be on a roll as of late as he is 6 for his last 11 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Hicks has hit better against RHP on the season and similar to Stanton, has been much better on the road this season, posting a .352 average with a 1.054 OPS. Hicks has a lot of experience at Comerica Park in his days with the Twins as he has a .286 average against the Tigers over his past three seasons, I think Hicks has some nice value tonight at this price.
OF – Brett Gardner (NYY - $3,300) – To complete my Yankees outfield, I’m going to go with their speedy leadoff hitter, Brett Gardner. Gardner is hitting just .263 on the season with 4 HR’s and 18 RBI’s but has been on a tear as of late as he has posted a .421 average with 2 HR’s and 2 doubles over the past week. Over his last three games, Gardner is 8 for 15 and has posted a respectable .811 OPS against RHP on the season. Gardner has a .333 average (22 for 66) against Detroit over his past three seasons and as I’m banking on a big offensive night by the Yankees, I wanted to make sure I got their lead-off hitter in the mix.
Utility – Andrew McCutchen (SFG - $3,100) – Andrew McCutchen has posted just a .248 average with 4 HR’s and 25 RBI’s on the season however, the talented outfielder has started to pick it up for the Giants as over the past week he has a .333 average with 2 doubles, 1 triple, and a HR. McCutchen went 2 for 4 yesterday with a HR and has posted an average of 14.4 FanDuel points over his past 5 games. McCutchen has been better against RHP’s this season posting a .258 average and also has a decent .812 OPS at home this season. McCutchen will be up against the RHP Zack Godley of the Diamondbacks tonight and has had some decent success against him as in his career he is 4 for 7 (.571 average/1.286 OPS) against him.
Have a great Monday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
