FanDuel - MLB Daily Fantasy Lineup & Advice - 6/8/18
MLB - Late Slate (7:05 PM) - FanDuel Lineup for 6/8/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/8/2018
It’s Friday June 8th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Trevor Bauer (CLE - $10,200) – Trevor Bauer comes into this matchup with just a 4-4 record on the season, however, has been outstanding on the year as he is sporting a 2.77 ERA and 1.17 WHIP on the year. Bauer has an incredible 11.2 K/9 ratio on the year and although he has given up some more runs over his last two starts, he is still striking out a ton of people as over his last 13.0 IP, he has record 24 K’s. Bauer is holding opponents to just a .214 average and has been great on the road this season, coming into his road matchup against the Tigers with a 2.39 road ERA. Bauer has faced Detroit twice this season and has had a ton of success as he is 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA and 17 K’s over those two starts.
C/1B – Evan Gattis (HOU - $2,700) – Evan Gattis has a slow start in April and there were even some rumblings about how long they would keep him at DH, however, the veteran slugger as heated up as of late as although he is hitting just .234 on the season, he does have 10 HR’s and 31 RBI’s. Gattis has been outstanding over his last two games, going 4 for 7 with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s and has hit 3 HR’s over the past week. Gattis will be up against the RHP Doug Fister who comes into this matchup with a 1.48 HR/9 ratio and is allowing RHB’s to hit .303 against him on the season. Gattis is 5 for 12 with a HR vs. Fister in his career and although the wind will be blowing in at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Gattis has plenty of power to still hit a HR for us tonight.
2B – Starling Castro (MIA - $3,200) – I think there is a lot of value with Miami Marlins if you’re looking to save some salary tonight as the Marlins have a great matchup against the LHP Eric Lauer of the Padres who comes into this game with a 6.82 ERA and 1.98 WHIP on the year. Castro hasn’t hit for much power this season but is having a productive season with Miami as he is currently hitting .292 on the season with 3 HR’s and 24 RBI’s. Castro has been hot as of late, hitting .333 over with 5 doubles over the past week while also collecting hits in 8 of his last 9 games. Castro has a .314 average and .810 OPS vs. LHP on the season and as Lauer can give up some HR’s, I like Castro’s value tonight.
3B – Christian Villanueva (SD - $3,000) – Christian Villanueva is hitting just .235 on the season however, the rookie 3B for the Padres has shown his power as he collected 15 HR’s and 35 RBI’s on the year. Villanueva has some of most drastic offensive splits in the majors and is almost a must play when going up against an LHP as on the season he has a .351 average, .947 slugging percentage, and 1.350 OPS vs. LHP. Villanueva will up against the LHP Caleb Smith of the Marlins who although has had a decent season for Miami, has struggled a bit more as of late, giving up 3 HR’s in his last two starts. Villanueva has hit for a better average on the road this season and with his success against LHP, I’m making sure he is my lineup tonight.
SS – Miguel Rojas (MIA - $2,100) – Miguel Rojas is going to be my punt play today as I want to save some salary for my outfielders and he has that nice matchup against the LHP Eric Lauer of the Padres. Rojas has really struggled as of late which has dropped his average to a .237 mark, however, he has shown that he has some power as currently has 7 HR’s and 24 RBI’s on the season. I’m going with Rojas largely due to his matchup against Lauer who is allowing RHB’s to post a .345 average and .989 OPS against him on the year. Rojas has been much better at home this season and we can just get a few points out of him, I’ll be happy.
OF – Matt Kemp (LAD - $3,900) – Matt Kemp didn’t look like he would really have a spot in the Dodgers outfield coming into this season however, the veteran has taken this season by storm and comes into tonight’s game with a .349 average, 10 HR’s and 40 RBI’s. Kemp has been outstanding as of late, hitting .391 with 3 HR’s over the past week and has collected at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games. Kemp will be up against the RHP Brandon McCarthy of the Braves who has really struggled against RHB’s this season, allowing them to post a .336 average and .844 OPS against him. Kemp has a .338 average and .905 OPS vs. RHP on the season and is a solid play tonight as he has a .438 average (7 for 16) against McCarthy in his career.
OF – Kevin Pillar (TOR - $2,800) – Kevin Pillar is generally more known for his defense however, the Blue Jays center fielder has been able to put together some nice offensive games this season and currently comes into his matchup against the RHP Andrew Cashner of the Orioles with a .257 average, 5 HR’s, 23 RBI’s, and 9 SB’s. Pillar becomes in intriguing play tonight as he hits better at home (.274 average/.831 OPS) and has also fared much better against RHP, posting a .290 average and .785 OPS. Cashier comes into this game with a 5.02 ERA and 1.67 WHIP while allowing RHB’s to hit .311 against him on the year. Pillar has a .429 career average against Cashner and as think Pillar will be able to get us a SB or two if he gets on base, I think he comes in at some nice value tonight.
OF – Trey Mancini (BAL - $2,500) – I didn’t have much salary left for my last outfield spot, however, I do like value that Trey Mancini brings to his matchup tonight against the Blue Jays. Mancini has struggled as of late and currently is hitting just .231 on the season with 7 HR’s and 17 RBI’s however, he has some value due to his HR-upside and for the fact he is still hitting at the top of the Orioles order. Mancini will be up against the LHP J.A. Happ of the Toronto Blue Jays who although has pitched well this season, can give up HR’s and has given up 9 HR’s to RHB’s on the year. Coming into this season, Mancini posted a solid .299 average and .805 OPS vs. LHP and as he has a .313 average against the Blue Jays this season, I’ll take make chances with the Orioles outfielder tonight.
Utility – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $4,600) – Paul Goldschmidt is hitting just .233 with 8 HR’s and 22 RBI’s on the season but the career .295 hitter looks like he is finally turning it on as he comes into tonight’s game with a .435 average over the past week. Goldschmidt has been extremely hot as of late as over his last two games, he has gone 7 for 9 with 4 doubles. Goldschmidt is up against the RHP German Marquez of the Colorado Rockies tonight who has really struggled at home this season posting a 7.22 ERA at Coors Field. Goldschmidt has a .322 average against Colorado over his last three seasons and has been great at Coors Field as he has a .315 average with 8 HR’s in the same time period. Goldschmidt has also fared well against Marquez in his career as he comes in 6 for 13 against him with 2 HR’s.
Have a great Friday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
