MLB - Late Slate (7:15 PM) - DraftKings Lineup for 6/9/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB DraftKings Lineup – 6/9/2018
It’s Saturday June 9th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:15 EST) for the MLB DraftKings contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Charlie Morton (HOU - $12,400) – I like to take chances, but there is no way I’m not going with Charlie Morton tonight even though he is going to be highly owned as there aren’t many great options on tonight’s slate. Morton comes into this game with a 7-1 record with a 2.84 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. Morton has been great when it comes to strikeouts this season as he has a 11.34 K/9 ratio and will be going up against the Texas Rangers who rank 29th in team strikeout rate. Morton has been outstanding against Texas this season as in his two starts agianst the Rangers he has a 1-0 record with a 2.08 ERA and an incredible 26 K’s.
P – Matt Koch (ARZ - $5,400) – Outside of Charlie Morton, you’re going to have to chance on your 2nd pitcher tonight and I’m going to put my chips on Matt Koch of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Koch has been solid after replacing Taijuan Walker who was lost for the season due to injury and currently has a 4-3 record, 3.76 ERA, and a 1.16 WHIP. Koch has held his opponents to three or less ER’s in 7 of his 9 starts this season. Koch has been outstanding agianst LHB’s this season, holding them to just .186 average and has also been great on the road posting a 2.03 ERA. Koch hasn’t really faced the majority of the Rockies in his career which can be an advantage for him and as he is more of a ground-ball pitcher, it will give him a better chance to success at Coors Field.
C – Tyler Flowers (LAD - $3,600) – Tyler Flowers doesn’t get to play everyday as he splits time with Kurt Suzuki for the Braves however, with his success against LHP and his solid history against Alex Wood, I think Flowers is a good value play tonight. Flowers is hitting just .265 on the season with 3 HR’s and 9 RBI’s however does has hits in 8 of his last 10 games he has played. Flowers has a .417 average, .667 slugging percentage, and a 1.255 OPS vs. LHP on the season and is 5 for 8 (.625 average/1.417 OPS) against Alex Wood in his career.
1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $5,300) – Paul Goldschmidt is finally turning it on as although he is hitting just .241 on the season with 10 HR’s and 25 RBI’s, the slugging 1B for the Diamondbacks has been on absolute fire as of late. Goldschmidt is hitting .500 over the past week and over his last three games he is 10 for 14 with 5 doubles, 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s. Goldschmidt hasn’t fared well against RHP’s on the season however, he will be up agianst the RHP Chad Bettis of the Colorado Rockies who he is 8 for 20 agianst with 3 doubles, 1 triple, a HR and 8 RBI’s against in his career. Before last night’s 3-5 performance with 2 HR’s and double, Goldschmidt was hitting .315 with 8 HR’s and 30 RBI’s in his last three seasons at Coors Field and I think he’ll continue that success tonight.
2B – Daniel Descalso (ARZ - $4,000) – Daniel Descalso is having a solid season with the Diamondbacks as although he is hitting just .261 on the season he has racked up a bunch of extra base hits on the season and also has 7 HR’s and 31 RBI’s. Descalso has about a .290 average since May and has a solid matchup against the RHB Chad Bettis of the Rockies who has really struggled as of late. Descalso has a .286 average with a .538 slugging percentage and .935 OPS vs. RHB’s on the season. Descalso has 12 doubles and 3 triples on the season and as I wanted to have a mini-stack of the Diamondbacks in my lineup tonight, I think Descalso is a solid option at 2B.
3B – Logan Forsythe (LAD - $2,800) – Logan Forsythe is going to be one of two punt plays tonight for my team as the Dodgers second-baseman is hitting just .208 with a HR and 8 RBI’s on the season. Forsythe will be up agianst the RHP Anibal Sanchez who although is pitching well this season, this is still the same guy that has posted a 6.00-plus ERA over his last two seasons and certainly can give up HR’s. Over Sanchez’s last three-seasons, he is allowing RHB’s to post a .342 average and .989 OPS. Forsythe has hit better agianst RHB’s on the season and should be in the lineup tonight as he is 5 for 9 (.556 average/1.444 OPS) with a HR agianst Sanchez in his career.
SS – Johan Camargo (ATL - $3,300) – Johan Camargo is hitting just .213 on the season but does have 6 HR’s and 21 RBI’s on the season and comes into this game with hits in 5 of his last 7 games. Camargo has 4 HR’s over his past two weeks and has a decent matchup against the LHP Alex Wood of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wood comes into this game with a 4.48 ERA and has really struggled as of late as he has given up 11 ER’s and 4 HR’s over his last two starts. Camargo is a switch-hitter that hasn’t fared as well as an RHB this season, however, he did hit .403 with a 1.128 OPS in 72 AB’s against LHP last season.
OF – Giancarlo Stanton (NYY - $5,000) – I’m going to be paying up for Giancarlo Stanton tonight as the Yankees slugger is really starting to hit the ball as of late. Stanton is hitting just .251 on the season but does have 15 HR’s on the season and is hitting .320 with 4 HR’s over the past week. Stanton has been great on the road this season, posting a .296 average with 9 HR’s. Stanton will be up against the LHP Steven Matz who although has pitched well as of late, can give up HR’s and has struggled agianst the Yankees in his career as over three starts, Matz has a 7.63 ERA against them. Stanton has crushed LHP on the season to the tune of a .368 average, .825 slugging percentage, and 1.231 OPS and I think he is great play tonight as he is also 4 for 10 with 2 HR’s against Matz in his career.
OF – David Peralta (ARZ - $4,300) – David Peralta has been a solid provider of offense for Arizona this season as Peralta currently is hitting .264 on the season with 11 HR’s and 28 RBI’s on the year. Peralta has been solid as of late as he has a .280 average with 3 HR’s over the past week. Peralta went 3 for 5 last night with a double and HR and has hit the RHP Chad Bettis hard in his career as he is 6 for 11 agianst the right-hander in his career. Peralta has a .317 average at Coors Field over the past three seasons and I think he could be in for another strong game tonight.
OF – Cody Bellinger (LAD - $3,900) – Cody Bellinger was really struggling on the season as there was even talk of sending down the slugging 1B, however, Bellinger has at least temporary silenced those critics as over the past week he is hitting .333 and has also hit a HR in four consecutive games. Bellinger currently has a 12 HR’s and 31 RBI’s on the season and is up agianst Anibal Sanchez who I believe his solid numbers are bound to regress a bit and could tonight agianst a Dodgers team that is hitting the ball real well right now. Bellinger has a .811 OPS vs. RHP on the season and as his price really hasn’t jump based on his recent production as of yet, I think he has some good value tonight.
Have a great Saturday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
