MLB - Late Slate (7:15 PM) - FanDuel Lineup for 6/9/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/9/2018
It’s Saturday June 9th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:15 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Charlie Morton (HOU- $10,000) – I like to take chances, but there is no way I’m not going with Charlie Morton tonight even though he is going to be highly owned as there aren’t many great options on tonight’s slate. Morton comes into this game with a 7-1 record with a 2.84 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. Morton has been great when it comes to strikeouts this season as he has a 11.34 K/9 ratio and will be going up against the Texas Rangers who rank 29th in team strikeout rate. Morton has been outstanding against Texas this season as in his two starts agianst the Rangers he has a 1-0 record with a 2.08 ERA and an incredible 26 K’s.
C/1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $4,800) – Paul Goldschmidt is finally turning it on as although he is hitting just .241 on the season with 10 HR’s and 25 RBI’s, the slugging 1B for the Diamondbacks has been on absolute fire as of late. Goldschmidt is hitting .500 over the past week and over his last three games he is 10 for 14 with 5 doubles, 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s. Goldschmidt hasn’t fared well against RHP’s on the season however, he will be up agianst the RHP Chad Bettis of the Colorado Rockies who he is 8 for 20 agianst with 3 doubles, 1 triple, a HR and 8 RBI’s against in his career. Before last night’s 3-5 performance with 2 HR’s and double, Goldschmidt was hitting .315 with 8 HR’s and 30 RBI’s in his last three seasons at Coors Field and I think he’ll continue that success tonight.
2B – Logan Forsythe (LAD - $2,200) – Logan Forsythe is going to be one of two punt plays tonight for my team as the Dodgers second-baseman is hitting just .208 with a HR and 8 RBI’s on the season. Forsythe will be up agianst the RHP Anibal Sanchez who although is pitching well this season, this is still the same guy that has posted a 6.00-plus ERA over his last two seasons and certainly can give up HR’s. Over Sanchez’s last three-seasons, he is allowing RHB’s to post a .342 average and .989 OPS. Forsythe has hit better agianst RHB’s on the season and should be in the lineup tonight as he is 5 for 9 (.556 average/1.444 OPS) with a HR agianst Sanchez in his career.
3B – Johan Camargo (ATL - $2,600) – Johan Camargo is hitting just .213 on the season but does have 6 HR’s and 21 RBI’s on the season and comes into this game with hits in 5 of his last 7 games. Camargo has 4 HR’s over his past two weeks and has a decent matchup against the LHP Alex Wood of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wood comes into this game with a 4.48 ERA and has really struggled as of late as he has given up 11 ER’s and 4 HR’s over his last two starts. Camargo is a switch-hitter that hasn’t fared as well as an RHB this season, however, he did hit .403 with a 1.128 OPS in 72 AB’s against LHP last season.
SS – Marwin Gonzalez (HOU - $2,600) – Marwin Gonzalez is hitting just .244 on the season with 4 HR’s and 30 RBI’s however, has been on a tear as of late as over the past week, Gonzalez has a .615 average with 2 doubles and 2 triples. Gonzalez is hitting for a much better average (.279) agianst LHP on the season and is currently 4 for 8 in his current series agianst the Rangers. Gonzalez and the Rangers will be up agianst the LHP Mike Minor who has really struggled this season as he has a 5.76 ERA and 1.35 WHIP on the season. Minor has really struggled as of late as he has given up at least 4 ER’s in 4 of his last 5 starts. Gonzalez has always fared well against Texas as over his last three seasons, he has a .280 average, 7 HR’s, and 26 RBI’s vs. the Rangers.
OF – Giancarlo Stanton (NYY - $4,800) – I’m going to be paying up for Giancarlo Stanton tonight as the Yankees slugger is really starting to hit the ball as of late. Stanton is hitting just .251 on the season but does have 15 HR’s on the season and is hitting .320 with 4 HR’s over the past week. Stanton has been great on the road this season, posting a .296 average with 9 HR’s. Stanton will be up against the LHP Steven Matz who although has pitched well as of late, can give up HR’s and has struggled agianst the Yankees in his career as over three starts, Matz has a 7.63 ERA against them. Stanton has crushed LHP on the season to the tune of a .368 average, .825 slugging percentage, and 1.231 OPS and I think he is great play tonight as he is also 4 for 10 with 2 HR’s against Matz in his career.
OF – Joc Pederson (LAD - $2,700) – Joc Pederson got off to a slow start to the season for the Dodgers this season but has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past week as he has posted a .450 average with 6 HR’s. Pederson is now hitting .272 on the season with 7 HR’s and 26 RBI’s and will be up agianst Anibal Sanchez of the Braves who although is pitching well for the Braves, has given up a combined 85 HR’s over the past three seasons. Joc Pederson has a .288 average, .568 slugging percentage, and a .935 OPS vs. RHP on the season and I’m hoping that he can continue his recent hot streak tonight.
OF – Jay Bruce (NYM - $2,500) – You know it’s been a bad season for Jay Bruce when he is almost considered a punt play now, but that’s where he is at after he has started his season with just a .226 average, 3 HR’s, and 15 RBI’s. Bruce is 3 for his last 10 which will hopefully help him get out of his season long slump and I don’t hate his matchup against Domingo German of the Yankees who although has great stuff, has struggled as of late and comes into this matchup with a 5.44 ERA and 1.33 WHIP while giving up 6 HR’s in his five starts. Bruce has 76 HR’s over the past three seasons and as I think German can make mistakes over the heart of the plate, I’m hoping that Bruce can capitalize on one tonight.
Utility – Yuli Gurriel (HOU - $2,700) – For my utility spot, I’m going to go with Yuli Gurriel of the Houston Astros who comes into this matchup with a .278 average with a HR and 21 RBI’s. Gurriel recently had a 12-game hitting streak and has fared well on the road this season as he has a .281 average away from home. Gurriel will be up agianst Mike Minor who has struggled agianst RHP as he has allowed them to post a .291 average, .556 slugging percentage, and .903 OPS agianst him on the season. Gurriel has been held hitless so far in the season however, I think he’ll get it going tonight as he is 2 for 4 with a HR against Minor in his career.
Have a great Saturday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
