MLB - Late Slate (1:05 PM) - DraftKings Lineup for 6/10/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB DraftKings Lineup – 6/10/2018
It’s Sunday June 10th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (1:05 EST) for the MLB DraftKings contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
If you want to sneak peak of my lineup before this article is released, remember to check out my video posted on YouTube or our Sports Chat Place Facebook page!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Corey Kluber (CLE - $13,600) – We saw how dominant Trevor Bauer was against the Tigers on Friday and there is no reason to think Corey Kluber can’t provide us a similar performance this afternoon. Kluber comes into this matchup with an impressive 9-2 record with a 1.96 ERA and 0.85 WHIP. Kluber isn’t striking out as many opponents as we’ve seen in the past, however, he still has a solid 9.33 K/9 ratio and has record double-digit K’s in two of his last four starts. Kluber had his best start of the season against the Tigers earlier this season as he went 8.0 IP while giving up no runs on two hits while striking out 13. Detroit is hitting just .245 against RHP’s on the season and as Kluber has had plenty of success against the Tigers over the past three seasons, I think he is safe and solid option today.
P – Fernando Romero (MIN - $5,900) – I’m a bit surprised that the price on Fernando Romero is this low as outside his one rough outing agianst Kansas City two starts ago, the Twins rookie has been overall solid and has given up two or less ER’s in 5 of his 7 starts this season. Romero can have some control issues at times however he has a sold arsenal and comes into this game with an 8.42 K/9 ratio. Romero has been very good at home this season, posting a 2.70 ERA while holding opponents to just a .226 average and will be up against the Los Angeles Angels who although are on a 6-game winning streak, they are averaging just 3.8 runs per game on that span. Romero has given up just 3 HR’s on the season, so he is doing a nice job keeping the ball in the park and as he had a solid game against the Angels earlier this season (5.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 6 K), I’ll take my chances with him at this price this afternoon.
C – Russell Martin (TOR - $2,700) – As we’re going with Corey Kluber, we’re going to need a couple of punt plays today and my first one starts with the Blue Jays catcher, Russell Martin. It’s been a tough season so far for Martin as he is hitting just .176 however, he has shown some power at least as he has 6 HR’s and 16 RBI’s. Martin has been playing better as of late as he has a .267 average so far in the month of June and has a solid match-up today against Baltimore’s RHP Alex Cobb who continues to struggle this season, posting a 6.19 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. Cobb has struggled with RHB’s this year, allowing them to post a .306 average, .548 slugging percentage, and a .899 OPS. All six of Martin’s HR’s this season have come against RHP’s and although he is just 3 for 14 against Cobb in his career, I think he has some decent upside for this price.
1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $5,600) – How incredible has Paul Goldschmidt been over the past week and how excited do you think the Colorado Rockies will be once this current series is over. Goldschmidt is now hitting .250 with 12 HR’s and 29 RBI’s on the year and over the past week alone, is hitting .560 with 5 doubles, 4 HR’s, and 9 RBI’s. So far in his current series agianst the Rockies, Goldschmidt is 6 for 9 with a double, 4 HR’s, and 7 RBI’s. Goldschmidt and the Diamondbacks will be up against LHP Kyle Freeman who although has pitched well this season, posting a 3.48 ERA and 1.23 WHIP, he has given up 6 ER’s and 3 HR’s over his past two starts. Goldschmidt has posted a .333 average, .730 slugging percentage, and a 1.155 OPS vs. LHP on the season and although Freeman has had some success against him in the past, I’m ensuring the Goldschmidt is in my lineups for the 3rd straight day.
2B – Ketel Marte (ARZ - $3,600) – Outside of Goldschmidt, I’m going to grab a couple of the cheaper Diamondbacks RHB’s at Coors Field today and that starts with Ketel Marte. Marte is hitting just .229 on the season with 3 HR’s and 19 RBI’s however, has been much better as of late as over the past week he has posted a .294 average with 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 RBI’s. Marte has hits in 6 of the last 7 games he has started and the switching-hitting Marte has fared much better vs. LHP on the season as he has posted a .282 average and .819 OPS. Kyle Freeman has been solid for the Rockies this season, however, he has been far worse agianst RHB’s allowing them to post a .255 average and .714 OPS.
3B – Rafael Devers (BOS - $3,300) – I think there will be some value with the Red Sox’s LHB’s today and as I’ll need to save some money for the OF, I think Rafael Devers is worth a look today. Devers certainly has had a sophomore slump this season after storming on the scene last season however, even though Devers is hitting just .230 on the year, he still has 9 HR’s and 28 RBI’s. Devers currently has a 4-game hitting streak and has hit better over the past week as he has posted a .278 average. I like Devers and other Red Sox LHB’s tonight with their matchup against Reynaldo Lopez who is allowing LHP to post a .417 slugging percentage and .735 OPS against him. Devers has been much more productive vs. RHP’s on the season and as Lopez is more of fly-ball pitcher which can be bad at Fenway, I like Devers for this price today.
SS – Nick Ahmed (ARZ - $3,800) – Nick Ahmed has a monster game yesterday for the Diamondbacks, going 3 for 5 with two doubles, a HR, and 3 RBI’s and as his price isn’t too high, I don’t mind getting him into my lineup today while he is still in the thin air of Coors Field. Ahmed is hitting .221 on the season and has an impressive 9 HR’s and 28 RBI’s. Ahmed has collected hits in 6 of his last 7 games and has posted a .364 average over the last week and a .346 average so far in the month of June. Ahmed hasn’t faced Freeman yet in his career however, as he came into this season hitting .388 (19 for 49) at Coors Field, I like him at SS today.
OF – Tommy Pham (STL - $4,500) – I’ve been able to save some money for the OF and I’m going to take a chance on a Tommy Pham, who comes into this season with a .272 average, 9 HR’s, and 23 RBI’s. Pham hasn’t shown much power as of late, however, he is hitting .308 over the past week and currently has hits in 6 of his last 7 games. Pham always has potential to go off for big games as he has power and speed (9 SB’s on the year) and I like the matchup he has today against Anthony DeSclafani of the Reds who was hit hard by Colorado (5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, HR) in his first start of the season earlier this week. Pham has 7 of his 9 HR’s vs. RHP on the season and as he is overdue for a big game at the plate, I think he is good option today in the OF.
OF – Rhys Hoskins (PHI - $4,000) – Rhys Hoskins came off the DL yesterday and wasted no time creating an impact for the Phillies as the slugging OF went 2 for 4 with a HR and 3 RBI’s. Hoskins is hitting .239 with 7 HR’s and 31 RBI’s on the season and as he was struggling prior to going on the DL with a jaw injury, I think there is great value at his price today as this is a quality hitter with some of the best pure power in the MLB. Hoskins has a solid matchup agianst the RHP Brandon Woodruff who comes into this match-up with a 6.05 ERA on the season while allowing RHB’s to post a .439 slugging percentage against him. Hoskins has a .294 average, .588 slugging percentage, and a 1.003 OPS during day games and I’m hoping that Hoskins can send another one over the fences this afternoon.
OF – Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS - $2,900) – I don’t have much salary left so I’m going to need a punt play for my last OF spot and I’m going to be taking a big chance with Jackie Bradley Jr. of the Red Sox. It’s been a tough season at the plate for the JBJ as he is hitting just .197 on the year with 3 HR’s and 13 RBI’s, however, he showed the power he does have yesterday with a bomb to CF at Fenway Park. Bradley Jr. is hitting .273 over his last 4 games and is a streaky hitter so I’m hoping that yesterday’s HR will finally get his bat going. Bradley Jr. will be up agianst Reynaldo Lopez who can give up HR’s to LHB’s I’m hoping to catch lighting in a bottle with Bradley Jr. this afternoon.
Have a great Sunday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
