MLB - Late Slate (1:05 PM) - FanDuel Lineup for 6/10/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/10/2018
It’s Sunday June 10th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (1:05 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
If you want to sneak peak of my lineup before this article is released, remember to check out my video posted on YouTube or our Sports Chat Place Facebook page!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Corey Kluber (CLE - $11,600) – We saw how dominant Trevor Bauer was against the Tigers on Friday and there is no reason to think Corey Kluber can’t provide us a similar performance this afternoon. Kluber comes into this matchup with an impressive 9-2 record with a 1.96 ERA and 0.85 WHIP. Kluber isn’t striking out as many opponents as we’ve seen in the past, however, he still has a solid 9.33 K/9 ratio and has record double-digit K’s in two of his last four starts. Kluber had his best start of the season against the Tigers earlier this season as he went 8.0 IP while giving up no runs on two hits while striking out 13. Detroit is hitting just .245 against RHP’s on the season and as Kluber has had plenty of success against the Tigers over the past three seasons, I think he is safe and solid option today.
C/1B – Mitch Moreland (BOS - $3,400) – Mitch Moreland has been outstanding for the Red Sox this season and has helped validate the Red Sox releasing Hanley Ramirez as the left-handed hitting Moreland currently has a .295 average with 10 HR’s and 30 RBI’s on the season. Moreland is hitting .316 over the past week with a HR and will be back in the lineup today with the Red Sox going up against the RHP Reynaldo Lopez of the White Sox. Moreland has a .316 average, .650 slugging percentage, and a 1.032 OPS vs. RHP on the season and is also hitting .321 at Fenway Park on the year.
2B – Starlin Castro (MIA - $3,200) – Starling Castro is having a solid season for the Marlins as comes into his match-up today with a .293 average with 3 HR’s and 24 RBI’s. Castro has been solid over the past weeks he has posted a .348 average with 4 doubles and over his last 5 games, is averaging 14.7 FanDuel points over his past 5 games. Castro will be up agianst the LHP Clayton Richard who although is pitching well as of late, still has a 4.67 ERA and 1.30 WHIP on the season. Richard has struggled a bit more agianst RHB on the year as he is allowing RHB’s to post a .451 slugging percentage and .781 OPS against him on the year. Castro has a .315 average and .813 OPS vs. LHP on the season and is 4 for 12 with a HR against Richard in his career.
3B – Rafael Devers (BOS - $2,900) – I think there will be some value with the Red Sox’s LHB’s today and as I’ll need to save some money for the OF, I think Rafael Devers is worth a look today. Devers certainly has had a sophomore slump this season after storming on the scene last season however, even though Devers is hitting just .230 on the year, he still has 9 HR’s and 28 RBI’s. Devers currently has a 4-game hitting streak and has hit better over the past week as he has posted a .278 average. I like Devers and other Red Sox LHB’s tonight with their matchup against Reynaldo Lopez who is allowing LHP to post a .417 slugging percentage and .735 OPS against him. Devers has been much more productive vs. RHP’s on the season and as Lopez is more of fly-ball pitcher which can be bad at Fenway, I like Devers for this price today.
SS – Freddy Galvis (PHI - $2,400) – We’ll have to have a few punt plays in our lineup as we’re going with Corey Kluber on the mount and my first one will be Freddy Galvis who comes into this game with a .236 average with 3 HR’s and 21 RBI’s. Galvis has hits in 6 of his last 8 games and had a solid game last night as he went 2 for 4 with a double, HR, and 2 RBI’s. Galvis will be up against the RHP Jose Urena who has a 4.60 ERA and has given up at least 4 ER’s in 3 of his last 4 starts. Urena is allowing LHB’s to post a .273 average, .435 slugging percentage, and a .752 OPS on the season. Galvis has a .286 average (4 for 14) against Urena in his career and as he does have some HR-upside, I’ll take my chances with him tonight.
OF – Curtis Granderson (TOR - $2,700) – Curtis Granderson is hitting just .218 on the season but does have 5 HR’s and 17 RBI’s and comes in with some extra value as he generally bats lead-off when going up against an RHP. Granderson has a great matchup against Alex Cobb of the Orioles who has really struggled against LHB’s on the year as he is allowing LHB to post a .371 average, .598 slugging percentage, and a .992 OPS. Granderson has posted a .465 slugging percentage and .814 OPS at home this season and has a .300 (3 for 10) with 4 BB agianst Cobb in his career.
OF – Tommy Pham (STL - $3,400) – I’ve been able to save some money for the OF and I’m going to take a chance on a Tommy Pham, who comes into this season with a .272 average, 9 HR’s, and 23 RBI’s. Pham hasn’t shown much power as of late, however, he is hitting .308 over the past week and currently has hits in 6 of his last 7 games. Pham always has potential to go off for big games as he has power and speed (9 SB’s on the year) and I like the matchup he has today against Anthony DeSclafani of the Reds who was hit hard by Colorado (5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, HR) in his first start of the season earlier this week. Pham has 7 of his 9 HR’s vs. RHP on the season and as he is overdue for a big game at the plate, I think he is good option today in the OF.
OF – Rhys Hoskins (PHI - $3,000) – Rhys Hoskins came off the DL yesterday and wasted no time creating an impact for the Phillies as the slugging OF went 2 for 4 with a HR and 3 RBI’s. Hoskins is hitting .239 with 7 HR’s and 31 RBI’s on the season and as he was struggling prior to going on the DL with a jaw injury, I think there is great value at his price today as this is a quality hitter with some of the best pure power in the MLB. Hoskins has a solid matchup agianst the RHP Brandon Woodruff who comes into this match-up with a 6.05 ERA on the season while allowing RHB’s to post a .439 slugging percentage against him. Hoskins has a .294 average, .588 slugging percentage, and a 1.003 OPS during day games and I’m hoping that Hoskins can send another one over the fences this afternoon.
Utility – Russell Martin (TOR - $2,300) – As we’re going with Corey Kluber, we’re going to need a couple of punt plays today and my first one starts with the Blue Jays catcher, Russell Martin. It’s been a tough season so far for Martin as he is hitting just .176 however, he has shown some power at least as he has 6 HR’s and 16 RBI’s. Martin has been playing better as of late as he has a .267 average so far in the month of June and has a solid match-up today against Baltimore’s RHP Alex Cobb who continues to struggle this season, posting a 6.19 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. Cobb has struggled with RHB’s this year, allowing them to post a .306 average, .548 slugging percentage, and a .899 OPS. All six of Martin’s HR’s this season have come against RHP’s and although he is just 3 for 14 against Cobb in his career, I think he has some decent upside for this price.
Have a great Sunday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
