MLB - Late Slate (7:05 PM) - DraftKings Lineup for 6/12/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB DraftKings Lineup – 6/12/2018
It’s Tuesday June 12th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB DraftKings contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Lance McCullers Jr. (HOU - $9,600) – Lance McCullers is having a solid season for the Astros to date as the right-hander comes into his matchup against Oakland with a 7-3 record with a 3.94 ERA and 1.19 WHIP on the season. McCullers has been pretty consistent as he has only given up more than 3 ER’s in just one of his starts this season. McCullers has a decent 9.08 K/9 ratio and faces an Athletics squad that ranks just 20th in MLB in team strikeout rate and 17th in team batting average (.246) vs. RHP. McCullers is holding his opponents to just a .223 average on the season and I think he continue his solid statistics against Oakland as in two starts this season against the A’s, McCullers has a 2-0 record over 12.0 IP while giving up just 2 ER’s while striking out 10.
P – Jon Gray (COL - $8,000) – Jon Gray has had a tough year for Colorado however, I think the Rockies right-hander has the potential to be an outstanding value play tonight in his road matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies. Gray comes into this matchup with just a 5.66 ERA and 1.51 WHIP however, has solid upside with his impressive 10.41 K/9 ratio. Philadelphia has really struggled offensively in June and come into this game ranked dead last in MLB in team strikeout rate and just 27th in team batting average (.230) vs. RHP. Gray has shown his potential this season as over a three-game stretch in early May he averaged 32.4 DK points and as he shut down the Phillies last season going 7 innings giving up just 1 ER, I’m making sure Gray is in my lineup today.
C – Willson Contreras (CHC - $3,800) – I’m going to be going with Willson Contreras of the Cubs today at the catcher position as you have to like the Cubs matchup against a struggling Chase Anderson of the Milwaukee Brewers. Contreras comes into this game with a .275 average on the season with 4 HR’s and 22 RBI’s while also hitting .333 over the past week. Contreras has hits in 7 of his last 8 games and will be up against Anderson who has reverse splits on the season, struggling against RHB’s as he is allowing them to post a .257 average, .486 slugging percentage, and a .817 OPS against him. Anderson hasn’t made it past the 5th inning in two of his last three starts and I think Contreras is a good price today as he is 5 for 9 lifetime against Anderson with 3 doubles.
1B – Joey Votto (CIN - $4,300) – I’m going to be stacking the LHB’s of the Cincinnati Reds tonight in their great matchup against the RHP Ian Kennedy of the Kansas City Royals and it begins with Joey Votto. Votto currently has a .310 average with 6 HR’s and 27 RBI’s and is seeing the ball well as of late as he has a .429 average over the past week and a .406 average in June. Votto has been great on the road this season, posting a .360 average and .933 OPS, and should be able to improve those numbers against Ian Kennedy who has a 1.64 HR/9 ratio and has given up at least 5 ER’s in 4 of his last 6 starts. Votto has a .368 average, .520 slugging percentage, and a .998 OPS vs. RHB’s on the season and also has .333 average (5 for 15) against Kennedy in his career.
2B – Scooter Gennett (CIN - $4,800) – Scooter Gennett is showing everyone that last year’s performance wasn’t a fluke as the Reds second baseman comes into this game with a .340 average with 12 HR’s and 47 RBI’s. Gennett has a .318 average over the past week, .324 average in June and similar to Votto, has been great on the road this season, posting a .359 average with 6 HR’s. Kennedy is allowing LHB’s to post a .298 average, .553 slugging percentage, and .920 OPS on the season and Gennett is my “Long Ball Lock” of the day as he is 4 for 10 with a HR against Kennedy in his career.
3B – Jake Lamb (ARI - $4,400) – Jake Lamb has had a bit of slow start since returning from injury as he is hitting just .235 on the season however, the Diamondbacks third-baseman does have 4 HR’s and 18 RBI’s in just 81 AB’s this season. Lamb has homered in 2 of his last 3 games and has shown over the past two seasons that he has some great power as had a combined 59 HR’s in his last two seasons. Lamb will have a decent matchup against Trevor Williams of the Pittsburgh Pirates who has allowed at least 4 ER’s in each of his last four starts. Williams is allowing LHB’s to hit .278 against him and Lamb is also 2 for 5 against Williams in his career. Lamb has always hit RHP’s better as last season, he posted a solid .552 slugging percentage and .938 OPS vs. RHP.
SS – Ehire Adrianza (MIN - $2,900) – Ehire Adrianza will be my value you play of tonight as I like his matchup against the LHP Blaine Hardy of the Detroit Tigers. The switch-hitting Adrianza has just a .240 average with 2 HR’s and 10 RBI’s on the season however, has been great at the plate lately as over the past week he has a .316 average with 4 doubles, 1 triple, and a HR. Adrianza has hits in 5 of his last 6 games and I like the Twins bats tonight against Hardy who didn’t impress me by any means in his recent outing against the Red Sox. Adrianza has been great against LHP this season, posting a .343 average, .543 slugging percentage, and a .953 OPS in 35 AB’s and has been solid against the Tigers, posting a .375 average with 3 doubles and 2 RBI’s on the year.
OF – Matt Kemp (LAD - $4,400) – Matt Kemp is looking like the Matt Kemp of old this season as he has been a great surprise for the Dodgers and comes into this matchup with a .338 average, 10 HR’s, and 41 RBI’s on the season. Kemp is hitting .292 with a HR and has a solid matchup against Bartolo Colon of the Texas Rangers tonight. Colon’s ERA is up to 4.16 and has allowed 7 HR’s over his past 4 starts. Colon has also struggled against RHB’s as he is allowing them to post a .537 slugging percentage and .806 OPS against him on the year. Kemp has a .556 average (5 for 9) in Inter League play this season and has had no trouble with RHP’s as he has posted a .331 average, .537 slugging percentage, and a .881 OPS against them on the year. Kemp has a .294 average with a HR against Colon in his career and I think he could do some real damage tonight.
OF – Scott Schebler (CIN - $4,200) – Scott Schebler is hitting .282 on the season with 8 HR’s and 25 RBI’s and has been great as of late, posting a .387 average with 4 doubles and HR over the past week. Schebler had his 9-game hitting streak snapped last night, however, still is hitting .410 in the month of June. We’ve already mentioned a lot about why we’re going against Kennedy however, he has also not been great at home this season as in 7 starts, he has posted an 0-3 record and 5.40 ERA. Schebler has a .458 slugging percentage with 6 of his 8 HR’s against RHP’s and has a little extra value as he has been batting leadoff for the Reds.
OF – Jesse Winker (CIN - $3,600) – To complete my Cincinnati stack, I’m going to get Jesse Winker in the lineup who comes into this game with a .264 average with 3 HR’s and 18 RBI’s. Similar to many Reds, Winker has been seeing the ball really well as of late as over the past week he has a .409 average with 2 HR’s and 6 RBI’s including 4 multi-hit games. Winker has a .355 average for the month of June and has posted a .283 average and .757 OPS vs. RHP on the season. Kennedy has struggled more in night games this season, posting a 6.85 ERA while allowing opponents to hit .324 against him and between the fact that wind will be blowing out to right-field and that Winker should have some decent RBI opportunities if he hits out of the 6-hole again, I think Winker has some great value tonight.
Have a great Tuesday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
