MLB - Late Slate (7:05 PM) - DraftKings Lineup for 6/14/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB DraftKings Lineup – 6/14/2018
It’s Thursday June 14th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB DraftKings contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Blake Snell (TB - $10,900) – Blake Snell is showing MLB that he can be an “ace” in this league as the Rays left-hander has been incredible this season as he comes into his matchup against the Yankees with an 8-3 record while posting a 2.30 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. Snell has held his opponents to 2 ER’s or less in 13 of his 14 starts this season and has the strikeout potential we like to see from our DFS pitchers as he currently has a 9.73 K/9 ratio. Snell has fared well against the Yankees in his career, holding the current roster to just a .219 average while striking them out 31% of the time. Snell is holding opponents to a .189 average on the season and a .177 average on the road and I’m not afraid of paying up for him tonight.
P – Domingo German (NYY - $6,700) – I’m going to be hoping for a low-scoring TB/NYY game as along with Snell, I’m going to go with the Yankees Domingo German. German comes into this game with a 5.52 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP however has shown flashes of his potential this season, especially in his first start of the season against the Indians, going 6 innings, giving up no runs while striking out 9. German has a solid 10.08 K/9 ratio and although the Rays have a good average against RHP, Tampa Bay ranks just 23rd in MLB in runs scored and I’m just not really that intimidated by that lineup. German looked good after the 1st inning in his recent game against the Mets and as he has the upside to pitch a quality game with a good amount of K’s, I’ll take my chances with him tonight.
C – John Ryan Murphy (ARZ - $3,500) – I like the Arizona bats today against the LHP Jason Vargas of the Mets and love the value that John Ryan Murphy brings to the table today. Murphy is hitting just .257 on the season however, has shown some great power as he has 8 HR’s and 18 RBI’s on the year. Murphy has hits in 3 of the last 4 games he has started and has become the everyday catcher for the Diamondbacks due to the struggles of Alex Avila. Vargas has pitched better as of late, however, still comes into this matchup with a 7.71 ERA and 1.75 WHIP. Murphy has been great against LHP, posting a .292 average, .646 slugging percentage, and a .966 OPS and has some extra value as he has been batting in the heart of the Diamondbacks order.
1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $5,600) – I’m staying in Arizona and going to be paying up for Paul Goldschmidt who has finally put his early season struggles behind him. Goldschmidt is only hitting .258 on the season with 12 HR’s and 31 RBI’s however, has been outstanding as of late as over the past week he has posted a .480 average with 4 HR’s and 9 RBI’s. Goldschmidt has a 9-game hitting streak and during that steak has had four games of at least three hits. Even with his struggles early this season, Goldschmidt has been crushing LHP again this season, posting a .343 average, .761 slugging percentage, and a 1.218 OPS. Goldschmidt is my “Long Ball Lock” of the day as I think he’ll be able to find some success against the LHP Jason Vargas of the Mets who is allowing RHB’s to post a .330 average, .526 slugging percentage, and a .891 OPS against him on the year.
2B – Asdrubal Cabrera (NYM - $3,700) – It’s been a struggle for Asdrubal Cabrera as of late however, I think the Mets second-baseman comes in with some great value today as he is still hitting .277 with 11 HR’s and 36 RBI’s on the season. Cabrera has the ability to put up big games and I don’t hate his matchup against the RHP Matt Koch of the Diamondbacks at Chase Field tonight. Koch gave up 3 HR’s in his last outing at Coors Field and LHB’s have had a nice hard contact rate against him on the year. The switch-hitting Cabrera has a .509 slugging percentage and a .826 OPS as an LHB this season and I’m hoping that he can break out of his recent slump tonight.
3B – Rafael Devers (BOS - $3,400) – The Red Sox will be a popular play tonight with their matchup against Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners and although I’m not willing to pay the high prices for their big bats, I think Devers has some great value at just $3,400 tonight. Devers is hitting just .231 on the season but has shown his power as he has 10 HR’s and 32 RBI’s on the year. Devers is currently on an 8-game hitting streak and has 7 of his 10 HR’s vs. RHP. Devers is hitting better on the road this season and could have some success against King Felix who is allowing LHB’s to post a .500 slugging percentage and .827 OPS against him on the year.
SS – Ketel Marte (ARZ - $3,800) – Similar to Paul Goldschmidt, Ketel Marte has been outstanding as of late as although the scrappy shortstop is hitting just .249 on the season with 4 HR’s and 25 RBI’s, Marte has hit .429 with 2 double, 1 triple, and a HR over the past week. Marte is currently on a 4-game hitting streak and is 8 for his last 15. As we’ve already mentioned, the Diamondbacks have a nice matchup against Jason Vargas of the Mets tonight who has really struggled at times this season and you have to like that the switch-hitting Marte has a .302 average, .717 slugging percentage, and a 1.132 OPS vs. LHP on the season.
OF – Nelson Cruz (SEA - $4,400) – I’m paying up for Nelson Cruz tonight as although he is hitting just .255 on the season, he has still shown he has the power as he comes into tonight’s matchup against the LHP David Price with 16 HR’s and 38 RBI’s. Cruz is hitting just .217 over the past week but does have 5 HR’s and is hitting LHP to the tune of a .302 average, .717 slugging percentage, and a 1.132 OPS. Cruz has 11 HR’s at home this season and has had a good history against Price as he has a .321 average and 2 HR’s in 28 AB’s.
OF – Nick Markakis (ATL - $4,300) – Nick Markakis is having one of his best seasons in the big leagues with the Braves as the veteran outfielder has posted a .328 average on the season with 8 HR’s and 44 RBI’s. Markakis is hitting .333 over the past week and has a good matchup against the RHP Tyson Ross of the San Diego Padres who is currently allowing RHP to post a .301 average, .456 slugging percentage, and a .835 OPS against him. Markakis has a .325 average with a .870 OPS vs. RHP on the season and has a career .625 average against Ross in 8 AB’s.
OF – Ender Inciarte (ATL - $3,600) – I’m going to get another LHB in my lineup against the Padres Tyson Ross and with the salary I have left, I’m going go with Ender Inciarte. Inciarte is hitting .245 on the season with 4 HR’s and 24 RBI’s but is always a threat for a big game with his speed as he already has 20 SB’s on the season. Inciarte has fared better against RHP on the year, posting a .260 average with 13 SB’s and is a much better hitter under the lights as he has posted a .285 average during night games. Inciarte has a .375 average in 16 AB’s against Ross in his career and if he can get on base tonight, I think he’ll get us at least one stolen base.
Have a great Thursday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
