MLB - Late Slate (7:05 PM) - DraftKings Lineup for 6/15/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB DraftKings Lineup – 6/15/2018
It’s Friday June 15th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB DraftKings contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Ross Stripling (LAD - $9,800) – I’m going with Ross Stripling tonight as the Dodgers right-hander has been one of the best pitchers in MLB over the past month and comes into this game with a 5-1 record while posting a 1.65 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. Stripling has a solid 10.8 K/9 ratio and has a decent matchup against the Giants tonight who comes into this game ranked 27th in MLB in team strikeout rate. Stripling is holding opponents to just a .229 average and has been especially good vs. RHB’s as he is holding them to just a .215 average and .327 slugging percentage. Since becoming a starter, Stripling has given up just 6 ER’s in a combined 7 starts and now that he can throw deeper into games, I like him at this price.
P – Kevin Gausman (BAL - $8,500) – Kevin Gausman is a risky pick however, I’m going to be taking a chance on the Baltimore right-hander in a good match-up vs. the Miami Marlins on Friday. Gausman currently has a 3-5 record with a 4.58 ERA and 1.40 WHIP on the season but I do like his 8.7 K/9 ratio and the fact that he has had at least 9 K’s in two of his last four starts. Miami ranks just 24th in batting average vs. RHP on the season and has been outstanding in night games this year, posting a 2.91 ERA in 7 starts. The majority of the Marlins lineup, outside of Starling Castro, haven’t faced Gausman in their career which I feel gives Gausman an advantage and if he can pile up some strikeouts tonight, I think he can hit value.
C – Evan Gattis (HOU - $3,900) – Houston must be happy that they trusted that Evan Gattis would get out of his early season slump as the veteran slugger has been outstanding as of late and although he is hitting just .245 on the year, he does have 13 HR’s and 42 RBI’s. Gattis has a .320 average with 3 HR’s and 11 RBI’s over the past week and currently is on a 4-game hitting streak. Gattis is up against Jakob Junis who although has pitched well for the Royals this year, has really struggled as of late and gave up 6 ER’s on 10 hits (3 HR’s) in his last start. Junis has given up 10 HR’s to RHB’s on the year and as Gattis has a .313 average and .844 OPS in his last three seasons against the Royals, I like his chances to stay hot tonight.
1B – Josh Bell (PIT - $3,500) – I’m going to be stacking up bats against the RHP Matt Harvey of the Cincinnati Reds tonight and it starts with Josh Bell. Bell has just a .244 average with 4 HR’s and 36 RBI’s but has been looking much better at the plate recently and is hitting .357 with 3 doubles and 7 walks over the past week. Bell is 5 for 11 with 6 BB’s over his past 4 games and should find some success against Harvey who has allowed 13 ER’s and 5 HR’s over his past three starts. Bell is a switch-hitter who has all 4 of his HR’s this season as an LHB and if he can continue his plate discipline, some of these hits should start going over the fence sooner than later.
2B – Yoan Moncada (CWS - $3,700) – Yoan Moncada has been in a slump as of late however, I think this is price is just too low for Moncada who has all the talent in the world. Moncada is hitting just .227 on the season but does have 9 HR’s, 23 RBI’s, and 7 SB’s on the year. All of Moncada’s HR’s have come as an LHB this season and I think he’ll have a decent shot at going yard tonight against the RHP Mike Fiers of the Detroit Tigers who although has pitched well as of late, still has a 1.79 HR/9 ratio. Moncada has a .253 average and a .794 OPS vs. RHP on the year and as the White Sox should be familiar with Fiers arsenal as they’ve already faced him twice this season, I think Moncada is a great value play at this price.
3B – Justin Turner (LAD - $4,000) – Justin Turner suffered a wrist injury in spring training that cost him much of his April and May and although he is hitting just .253 on the season with 2 HR’s and 11 RBI’s, he is starting to look more like the Justin Turner we’ve seen over the past couple of years. Turner has a .333 average and has a great match-up against the LHP Derek Holland of the San Francisco Giants who is allowing RHB’s to post a .498 slugging percentage and .831 OPS agianst him on the year. Turner is hitting .316 with a .526 slugging percentage and .988 OPS vs lefties this season and these numbers should continue to improve as last season he posted a .380 average, .704 slugging percentage, and a 1.181 OPS vs. LHP.
SS – Didi Gregorius (NYY - $4,600) – Didi Gregorius is hitting just .246 season but the Yankees SS has surprisingly shown some of the best power on the team this season as he currently has 13 HR’s and 38 RBI’s on the season. Gregorius is hitting .294 over the past week and has a solid matchup against former Yankee Nathan Eovaldi who has given up 7 ER’s and 3 HR’s over his last 10 IP. Gregorius is my “Long Ball Lock” of the day as he has hit 11 of his 13 HR’s at home this season while posting a .929 OPS. Gregorius has a .500 average, 1.375 slugging percentage, and a 1.931 OPS in 8 AB’s vs. Tampa Bay this season and I think he’ll be able to find the short porch in right field tonight against Eovaldi.
OF – Juan Soto (WAS - $4,400) – Juan Soto has been everything that Washington hoped for since being called up a few weeks ago as Soto currently has a .344 average, 5 HR’s and 12 RBI’s on the season. Soto has hits in 5 of his last 6 games and has a .333 average with 3 HR’s over the past week. Soto and the LHB’s of the Nationals have a nice matchup agianst the RHP Aaron Sanchez who has allowed LHB’s to post a .308 average, .500 slugging percentage, and a .936 OPS against him on the year. Soto has a .359 average with a 1.099 OPS on the road this season and as the Rodgers Centre is a solid place to hit, I like the rookie in this match-up tonight.
OF – Corey Dickerson (PIT - $3,900) – As I mentioned earlier, I’m going to be stacking some of the Pittsburgh Pirates bats tonight agianst Matt Harvey and it’s hard not to go with Dickerson at this price. Dickerson has struggled as of late which is why his price has dropped to this level, however, Dickerson still comes into this game with a .310 average, 5 HR’s, and 32 RBI’s. Harvey currently has a 5.97 ERA and 1.40 WHIP on the season and Dickerson has been crushing Cincinnati all season as he has a .429 average and 1.270 OPS in 28 AB’s. Dickerson has a .313 average and a .850 OPS at home this season and I see those numbers getting better agianst Harvey tonight.
OF – Gregory Polanco (PIT - $3,700) – With my remaining salary, I’m getting another Pittsburgh LHB in my lineup in Gregory Polanco as Matt Harvey is allowing LHB’s to post a .300 average, .609 slugging percentage, and a .972 OPS against him on the season. Polanco has had a disappointing year as he is hitting just .204 on the season but he has shown off his power as he has 8 HR’s and 32 RBI’s on the season. Polanco has been better vs. RHP on the season and has a solid .863 OPS vs. the Reds this season. Polanco has posted a 1.024 OPS with a triple and HR vs. Harvey in 12 AB’s in this career and I’m hoping those numbers improve tonight.
Have a great Friday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
