DFS – Fantasy Baseball – DraftKings Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/16/18

As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!

If you want to sneak peak of my lineup before this article is released, remember to check out my video posted on YouTube or our Sports Chat Place Facebook page!

Here is my current lineup for today:

P –Patrick Corbin (ARZ - $12,200) – I’m paying up for Patrick Corbin tonight as although he has struggled a bit in his last two home starts, he still comes into this game with a 6-2 record while posing a 3.21 ERA & 1.00 WHIP and also has a very favorable matchup agianst the New York Mets. Corbin has been solid as a DFS player this season as he has an incredible 11.38 K/9 ratio on the season including 67 K’s in just 51.1 IP at Chase Field. The Mets rank dead last in MLB with a .199 average vs. LHP’s on the season and their offensive overall has been non-existent as of late as over their last 10 games, they’ve averaged just 1.5 runs per game. Corbin is holding opponents to a just a .197 average on the season and as I just don’t see the Mets figuring out their issues tonight against Corbin, I’m expecting a big game from the left-hander.

P – Steven Wright (BOS - $7,500) – Steven Wright has been great in both his starts this seasons and I’m rostering him for the third straight time as the knuckleballer currently has a 1.21 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and hasn’t given up a run in 22.2 innings. Wright has a tough matchup against the Seattle Mariners, but he has yet to give up a run on the road this season and has a respectable 7.58 K/9 ratio on the year. Wright is holding his opponents to just a .152 average on the year and the current Seattle roster hasn’t fared well in the limited exposure they’ve had agianst Wright in their career. Seattle is a good team however, Wright has been unstoppable so far this season and with his price still in this range, I think he could easily by the best value of any pitcher on tonight’s slate.

C – John Ryan Murphy (ARZ - $3,500) – John Ryan Murphy took over the starting catching duties for the Diamondbacks after the struggles of Alex Avila and hasn’t disappointed as he currently has a .250 average on the season with 8 HR’s and 18 RBI’s. Murphy has been great at Chase Field this season as he has posted a .288 average, .542 slugging percentage, and .875 OPS. Murphy and the Diamondbacks will be up agianst the LHP Steven Matz of the New York Mets tonight who although has pitched well as of late, he does have a 1.69 HR/9 ratio and gave up 2 HR’s to RHB’s in his recent start against the Yankees. Murphy has a .286 average, .633 slugging percentage, and a .960 OPS vs. LHP on the year and is 2 for 5 with a HR against Matz in his career.

1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $5,600) – Paul Goldschmidt continued his recent tear as of late, going 3 for 5 with a HR last night and know is hitting .265 with 14 HR’s and 34 RBI’s on the season. Goldschmidt has a .448 average with a double, triple, 4 HR’s and 9 RBI’s over the past week and has a .456 average with 7 HR’s so far in the month of June. Goldschmidt has an 11-game hitting streak and will be up agianst the LHP Steven Matz who we’ve already mentioned, can give up HR’s to RHB’s. Goldschmidt has always been great against LHP’s and it’s no different this season as he comes into his game tonight with a .348 average, .797 slugging percentage, and a 1.255 OPS vs. lefties. Goldschmidt is my “Long Ball Lock” of the day as he is 2 for 5 agianst Matz in his career with 2 HR’s.

2B – Logan Forsythe (LAD - $3,000) – Logan Forsythe is going to be my “punt” play tonight as although the Dodgers second-baseman is hitting just .223 on the season with 2 HR’s and 11 RBI’s, he has been much better as of late as he has a .333 average with 2 doubles, HR, and RBI’s over the past week. Forsythe has hits in 3 of his last 4 games and has hit better in June, posting a .272 average. Forsythe will be up agianst the LHP Madison Bumgarner who although has pitched well agianst the Dodgers in his career, hasn’t looked great since returning from injury and is allowing RHB’s to post a .333 average, .590 slugging percentage, and .915 OPS agianst him in 39 AB’s. Forsythe looked solid when I watched his AB’s last night and although he hasn’t had much success of Bumgarner before, I think he has a better chance tonight against the him as Bumgarner just hasn’t looked like the same pitcher he once was.

3B – Rafael Devers (BOS - $3,500) – Rafael Devers had a rough month of May however, he seems to be turning a corner as of late and comes into this game with a .238 average with 10 HR’s and 32 RBI’s. Devers has a 10-game hitting streak and has posted a .310 average and .816 OPS over the past week. Devers will be up against Wade LeBlanc of the Seattle Mariners tonight who although has pitched well for the Mariners this season, has allowed 4 HR’s over his last 14 IP. The LHP Leblanc has actually struggled more against LHB’s this season allowing them to post a .286 average and .786 OPS on the season and I like Devers tonight as he has posted a better average on the road and has two hits in each of the first two games of the current series.

SS – Nick Ahmed (ARZ - $3,400) – Nick Ahmed is hitting just .218 on the season but has shown some surprising power this season as he comes into his matchup against the Mets tonight with 9 HR’s and 31 RBI’s on the season. Ahmed has a .273 average with 2 doubles and a HR over the past week and has hit .279 so far in the month of June. Ahmed will be up against the LHP Steven Matz of the Met’s who has struggled much more agianst RHB’s this season allowing them to post a .455 slugging percentage and .782 OPS. 10 of the 11 HR’s that Matz has surrendered this season have been agianst RHB’s. Ahmed has posted a .278 average, .542 slugging percentage, and a .875 OPS vs. LHP on the season and I’m hoping for a solid night form the RHB’s of the Diamondbacks.

OF – Kike Hernandez (LAD - $3,300) – Kike Hernandez came through for our FanDuel lineups last night and I’m making sure that I have him in both my DraftKings and FanDuel lineups tonight in his matchup against the LHP Madison Bumgarner of the Giants. Hernandez is hitting just .217 on the season but does have 9 HR’s and 20 RBI’s on the season. Hernandez has great power against LHP as coming into this season he has a .540 slugging percentage and .909 OPS vs. LHP over his past three seasons. Hernandez is hitting .357 with 2 HR’s over the past week and I like him tonight as in 30 AB’s agianst Bumgarner in his career, Hernandez has posted a .467 average, .933 slugging percentage, and a 1.417 OPS against him.

OF – Marcell Ozuna (STL - $4,200) – We continue to see Marcell Ozuna swing the bat well for the Cardinals and he is now currently hitting .291 with 9 HR’s and 38 RBI’s on the year. Ozuna has posted a .455 average with 4 HR”s and 8 RBI’s over the past week and currently has an 8-game hitting streak. Ozuna has a .313 average and .820 OPS at home and I like his matchup agianst the RHP Kyle Hendricks of the Chicago Cubs who had given up at least 1 HR in each of his last 4 starts. Hendricks has reverse splits on the season as he has struggled more agianst RHB’s on the year and I like Ozuna’s chances tonight as he is 3 for 10 lifetime against Hendricks with 3 RBI’s and 3 BB’s.

OF – Kyle Schwarber (CHC - $3,800) – With my last $3,800, I’m going to take a chance with the Cubs Kyle Schwarber who although has struggled as of late, had a nice DFS day yesterday has he had a HR and 3 RBI’s. Schwarber has just a .242 average on the season but does have 12 HR’s and 31 RBI’s. Schwarber will be up agianst the RHP Carlos Martinez of the St. Louis Cardinals who although has a solid ERA on the season, has looked lost since returning from his injury as he has allowed 12 BB’s in his last two starts. Schwarber has a .513 slugging percentage and .866 OPS vs. RHP on the season and as I think Martinez is going to be a little wild against in this one, I’ll take my chances with Schwarber.

Have a great Saturday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
