MLB - Late Slate (8:15 PM) - FanDuel Lineup for 6/16/18
Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/16/2018
It’s Saturday June 16th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (8:15 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Steven Wright (BOS - $6,900) – Steven Wright has been great in both his starts this seasons and I’m rostering him for the third straight time as the knuckleballer currently has a 1.21 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and hasn’t given up a run in 22.2 innings. Wright has a tough matchup against the Seattle Mariners, but he has yet to give up a run on the road this season and has a respectable 7.58 K/9 ratio on the year. Wright is holding his opponents to just a .152 average on the year and the current Seattle roster hasn’t fared well in the limited exposure they’ve had agianst Wright in their career. Seattle is a good team however, Wright has been unstoppable so far this season and with his price still in this range, I think he could easily by the best value of any pitcher on tonight’s slate.
1B – Paul Goldschmidt (ARZ - $4,600) – Paul Goldschmidt continued his recent tear as of late, going 3 for 5 with a HR last night and know is hitting .265 with 14 HR’s and 34 RBI’s on the season. Goldschmidt has a .448 average with a double, triple, 4 HR’s and 9 RBI’s over the past week and has a .456 average with 7 HR’s so far in the month of June. Goldschmidt has an 11-game hitting streak and will be up agianst the LHP Steven Matz who we’ve already mentioned, can give up HR’s to RHB’s. Goldschmidt has always been great against LHP’s and it’s no different this season as he comes into his game tonight with a .348 average, .797 slugging percentage, and a 1.255 OPS vs. lefties. Goldschmidt is my “Long Ball Lock” of the day as he is 2 for 5 agianst Matz in his career with 2 HR’s.
2B – Logan Forsythe (LAD - $2,400) – Logan Forsythe is going to be my “punt” play tonight as although the Dodgers second-baseman is hitting just .223 on the season with 2 HR’s and 11 RBI’s, he has been much better as of late as he has a .333 average with 2 doubles, HR, and RBI’s over the past week. Forsythe has hits in 3 of his last 4 games and has hit better in June, posting a .272 average. Forsythe will be up agianst the LHP Madison Bumgarner who although has pitched well agianst the Dodgers in his career, hasn’t looked great since returning from injury and is allowing RHB’s to post a .333 average, .590 slugging percentage, and .915 OPS agianst him in 39 AB’s. Forsythe looked solid when I watched his AB’s last night and although he hasn’t had much success of Bumgarner before, I think he has a better chance tonight against the him as Bumgarner just hasn’t looked like the same pitcher he once was.
3B – Rafael Devers (BOS - $3,500) – Rafael Devers had a rough month of May however, he seems to be turning a corner as of late and comes into this game with a .238 average with 10 HR’s and 32 RBI’s. Devers has a 10-game hitting streak and has posted a .310 average and .816 OPS over the past week. Devers will be up against Wade LeBlanc of the Seattle Mariners tonight who although has pitched well for the Mariners this season, has allowed 4 HR’s over his last 14 IP. The LHP Leblanc has actually struggled more against LHB’s this season allowing them to post a .286 average and .786 OPS on the season and I like Devers tonight as he has posted a better average on the road and has two hits in each of the first two games of the current series.
SS – Ketel Marte (ARZ - $3,300) – Ketel Marte is hitting just .249 on the season with 4 HR’s and 26 RBI’s however, similar to Goldschmidt, has been outstanding as of late as Marte is hitting .429 with a double, triple, HR, and 7 RBI’s over the past week. Marte has that decent matchup agianst the LHP Steven Matz of the New York Mets who is allowing RHB’s to post a .455 slugging percentage and .782 OPS vs RHB’s on the season. 10 of the 11 HR’s Matz has given up this season has been against RHB. Marte is a switch-hitter who has fared much better as a RHB as he has a .312 average, .538 slugging percentage, and .904 OPS from the right side of the plate and is also 1 for 2 lifetime against Matz in his career.
OF – J.D. Martinez (BOS - $5,000) – J.D. Martinez has been one of the best players in MLB this season and comes into this matchup with a .320 average, 22 HR’s, and 55 RBI’s on the season. Martinez has posted a .375 average with 2 HR’s and 3 RBI’s over the past week and has hits in 6 of his last 7 games. Martinez will be up agianst the LHP Wade LeBlanc of the Seattle Mariners who had given up some HR’s as of late and is also 2 for 3 with a HR against him in his career. Martinez has a .316 average and .817 OPS vs. LHP on the season and as he is hitting .322 with a .973 OPS in night games, I’m expecting a big game from the Red Sox slugger tonight.
OF – Marcell Ozuna (STL - $4,000) – We continue to see Marcell Ozuna swing the bat well for the Cardinals and he is now currently hitting .291 with 9 HR’s and 38 RBI’s on the year. Ozuna has posted a .455 average with 4 HR”s and 8 RBI’s over the past week and currently has an 8-game hitting streak. Ozuna has a .313 average and .820 OPS at home and I like his matchup agianst the RHP Kyle Hendricks of the Chicago Cubs who had given up at least 1 HR in each of his last 4 starts. Hendricks has reverse splits on the season as he has struggled more agianst RHB’s on the year and I like Ozuna’s chances tonight as he is 3 for 10 lifetime against Hendricks with 3 RBI’s and 3 BB’s.
OF – Kike Hernandez (LAD - $2,700) – Kike Hernandez came through for our FanDuel lineups last night and I’m making sure that I have him in both my DraftKings and FanDuel lineups tonight in his matchup against the LHP Madison Bumgarner of the Giants. Hernandez is hitting just .217 on the season but does have 9 HR’s and 20 RBI’s on the season. Hernandez has great power against LHP as coming into this season he has a .540 slugging percentage and .909 OPS vs. LHP over his past three seasons. Hernandez is hitting .357 with 2 HR’s over the past week and I like him tonight as in 30 AB’s agianst Bumgarner in his career, Hernandez has posted a .467 average, .933 slugging percentage, and a 1.417 OPS against him.
Utility – John Ryan Murphy (ARZ - $2,600) – John Ryan Murphy took over the starting catching duties for the Diamondbacks after the struggles of Alex Avila and hasn’t disappointed as he currently has a .250 average on the season with 8 HR’s and 18 RBI’s. Murphy has been great at Chase Field this season as he has posted a .288 average, .542 slugging percentage, and .875 OPS. Murphy and the Diamondbacks will be up agianst the LHP Steven Matz of the New York Mets tonight who although has pitched well as of late, he does have a 1.69 HR/9 ratio and gave up 2 HR’s to RHB’s in his recent start against the Yankees. Murphy has a .286 average, .633 slugging percentage, and a .960 OPS vs. LHP on the year and is 2 for 5 with a HR against Matz in his career.
