Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/18/2018
Update (5:59 PM) - Hey Everyone!
I've switched some things around and did more of a combination of the two lineups I released this AM.
You'll have to make sure that Bird and Torres are getting the start for the Yankees in the 2nd game, but I can't seem them not going tonight.
2B - Replaced Asdrubal Cabrera with Glayber Torres (NYY)
OF - Replaced Lewis Brinson with Alex Gordon (KC)
Utility - Replaced Didi Gergorius with Greg Bird (NYY)
Let's have a good start to the week!
It’s Monday June 18th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Jacob deGrom (NYM - $9,000) – Jacob deGrom will be pitching in Colorado tonight however, I just can’t pass up on him at this price tonight. deGrom has been the best pitcher in the NL this season and comes into this matchup with a 4-2 record while posting a 1.55 ERA and 1.01 WHIP on the season. In his last six starts, deGrom has gone at least 7.0 IP in each one them giving up a combined 6 ER’s while striking out 57 hitters. deGrom has an outstanding 11.7 K/9 ratio on the season and faces a Colorado team that ranks 20th in team strikeout rate and team batting average (.240) vs. RHP. deGrom is holding the current Rockies roster to just a .206 average and although we don’t loving going with pitchers at Coors Field, I think deGrom will hit value at his price tonight.
C/1B – Salvador Perez (KC - $3,200) – Salvador Perez isn’t having a great year in terms of batting average as the career .269 hitter is posting just a .226 mark so far this season, however, the veteran catcher still has some great power as although he missed the majority of April, he still 11 HR’s and 32 RBI’s on the season. Perez has a great matchup against Bartolo Colon of the Texas Rangers tonight who has really struggled as of late and has seen his ERA jump all the way to 4.94 recently after having a great start to his season. Colon is allowing RHB’s to post a .549 slugging percentage and .824 OPS against him this season and has given up 10 HR’s in his last 23.2 IP. Perez has generally hit RHP’s better in his career and I’m hoping that he can send one over the fences tonight.
2B – Asdrubal Cabrera (NYM - $3,300) – I wanted to go with Gleyber Torres of the Yankees in their solid matchup against Erick Fedde, however, to save some salary, I went with the value that Asdrubal Cabrera brings at his $3,300 price tag while playing in Colorado. Cabrera has struggled as of late but seems to be picking it up against as he has hits in both games over the weekend including a 2 for 4 performance with a HR and walk yesterday. Cabrera is hitting .270 on the season and has shown some good power as he has 12 HR’s and 37 RBI’s on the year. Cabrera has a nice series against Colorado when they’ve visited earlier in the season as he is hitting .385 against them with a 1.154 OPS this season and he also fared well at Coors Field last season, posting a .429 average (6 for 14).
3B – Mike Moustakas (KC - $3,900) – Mike Moustakas hasn’t had a great month of June however, the slugging third-baseman still is hitting .262 on the season with 13 HR’s and 46 RBI’s and has one of the best match-ups on the slate tonight against the RHP Bartolo Colon of the Rangers tonight. Moustakas has a 3-game hitting streak which will hopefully get his bat going and has been great against RHP this season, posting a .279 average, .536 slugging percentage, and a .884 OPS. Moustakas has also been much better at home this season, posting a .284 average & .833 OPS and has also posted a .299 average & .950 OPS during “night” games. The KC/TEX matchup has one of the higher run totals on the slate so it will be a good move to get Moustakas and other Royals in your lineups tonight.
SS – Jurickson Profar (TEX - $3,500) – Jurickson Profar is starting to live up to all that potential as although the Rangers SS is hitting just .243 on the season, he currently has 8 HR’s, 41 RBI’s and has a .318 average over the past week. Profar and the Rangers have a solid matchup against Ian Kennedy of the Royals who even though has pitched well I his last two starts, still comes into this game with a 5.13 ERA and 1.55 WHIP on the season. Profar has a .636 slugging percentage and a .969 OPS vs. Kansas City this season and as he comes into this game with a 5-game hit streak, including a 2-5 performance last night with a double, HR, and 4 RBI’s, I like Profar tonight.
OF – Delino Deshields (TEX - $2,900) – I want to get another Rangers bat in my lineup against Ian Kennedy and will go with the former 1st round draft pick Delino Deshields. Deshields has had a disappointing MLB career to day and is currently hitting just .223 on the season with 2 HR’s and 8 RBI’s however, has been playing well as of late, posting a .333 average over the past week. Deshields can be a dangerous DFS player as he is lighting on the bases and currently has 15 SB’s on the year, including 3 SB’s over his past two games. Deshields has a .400 OBP vs. Kennedy in his career and as I think he’ll have the green light to run when he gets on base tonight, I’ll take my chances with him tonight as a solid value pick.
OF – Lonnie Chisenhall (CLE - $2,700) – Lonnie Chisenhall has been a solid hitter since returning from his injury that pretty much cost him the first two months of the season and comes into this game with a .340 average on the season so far in 53 AB’s. Chisenhall and Indians will be up against the RHP Dylan Covey of the Chicago White Sox tonight who although recently picked up a win against the Indians, he did surrender 10 hits and was lucky to escape with just giving up 2 ER’s. Chisenhall has posted a .340 average and .883 OPS vs. RHP on the season and also has an impressive .977 OPS at home this year. Chisenhall has HR-upside and will be a regular in my lineups against RHP if he stays at this price.
OF – Lewis Brinson (MIA - $2,400) – I don’t have much salary left but I don’t mind making a “punt” play with Lewis Brinson of the Marlins as the top-prospect looks as if he starting to figure things at the plate lately for the Marlins. Brinson is hitting just .176 on the season but does have 9 HR’s and 27 RBI’s and is hitting .304 over the past week with three triples. Brinson was the main piece that the Marlins acquired in the Christian Yelich trade this offseason and has a decent matchup against the Giants LHP Andrew Suarez who has a 4.92 ERA on the season while allowing RHB’s to post a .304 average, .500 slugging percentage, and a .852 OPS against him. Brinson has star potential and I’m hoping he can have a decent game tonight.
Utility – Didi Gregorius (NYY - $4,100) – Didi Gregorius is starting the swing the bat like we saw him do at the beginning of the season and comes into this game with a .259 average with 14 HR’s and 40 RBI’s on the season. Gregorius has posted a .471 average with 3 HR’s over the past week and has been solid in June posting a .333 average. Gregorius and the Yankees will be up against Erick Fedde of the Washington Nationals who lasted just 5 innings while giving up 6 hits, 4 ER’s and 2 HR’s to the Yankees in his start against him last Wednesday. Gregorius hasn’t been nearly as good on the road this season as he has been at home, but this is too good of a matchup to pass on and I don’t mind paying up for Didi tonight.
Have a great Monday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
