Daily Fantasy Baseball (DFS) - MLB FanDuel Lineup – 6/20/18
Update (6:44 PM) - Hi Everyone....i'm not going to take any chances as the weather looks like it going to get bad around 9:00pm in the Washington game. Here is my final lineup!
It’s Wednesday June 20th, 2018 and let’s take a look at the lineup I have going for tonight’s “Main” slate (7:05 EST) for the MLB FanDuel contests.
As always, remember to check the weather and the starting lineups when they are released as you don’t want to find out before it’s too late that you have someone in your lineups that isn’t going to be playing tonight!
If you want to sneak peak of my lineup before this article is released, remember to check out my video posted on YouTube or our Sports Chat Place Facebook page!
Here is my current lineup for today:
P – Jonathan Loaisiga (NYY - $6,200) – Jonathan Loaisiga has some huge upside tonight but don’t get me wrong, he also comes with a bunch of risk. Loaisiga had a new MLB-Debut against the Rays last week has he went 5 innings, giving up no runs while striking 6, however, the rookie right-hander also had some control issues as he walked 4. Loaisiga has shown his upside down at Triple-A this season as in 4 starts, he posted a 1.35 ERA while striking out 26 batters in 20 innings pitched and as he did a great job of generating swinging strikes against the Rays, he has the upside tonight of putting together a solid performance if he can keep control of his pitches.
1B – Greg Brid (NYY - $3,100) – The Yankees will be back at Yankee Stadium tonight and with their solid matchup against the RHP Felix Hernandez, you’ll have to be looking at the LHB’s of the Yankees tonight which includes Greg Bird. Bird has played in only 20 games this season although he is hitting just .211 with 3 HR’s and 5 RBI’s, there is no denying the power the young Yankee slugger has. Bird has hit much better at home this season, posting a .486 slugging percentage and .803 OPS and will be up against Felix Hernandez who comes into this game with a 5.44 ERA and 1.38 WHIP and hasn’t looked at all like the pitcher he once was. Bird has a .785 OPS vs. RHP on the year and as Hernandez has a 7.71 ERA on the road this season, I think that Bird and the Yankees could have a big night at the plate.
2B – Daniel Murphy (WAS - $3,600) – It’s been a slow start for Murphy since returning from an injury that cost him the first two months of the season as the veteran second-baseman is hitting just .120 with 2 RBI’s in 25 AB’s this season. I’m taking my first shot with Murphy this season as I love his matchup against Andrew Cashner of the Orioles who enters this game with a 4.98 ERA and 1.69 WHIP. Casher is allowing opponents to hit .302 against him on the season and Murphy has had great success against him in his career as he is 6 for 12 lifetime with a HR. Murphy is a career .298 hitter so it’s only going to be a matter of time until he starts swinging a hot bat and as he has posted a .325 average, .554 slugging percentage, and a .931 OPS vs. RHP over his past three seasons, I think tonight is when he gets it going.
3B – Rafael Devers (BOS - $3,600) – Rafael Devers is hitting just .243 on the season but does have 12 HR’s and 36 RBI’s on the season and has really heated up as of late as he has posted a .360 average over the past week. Devers has hits in 12 of his last 13 games and has a nice match-up against Lance Lynn who enters this game with a 4.98 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. Lynn has pitched better as of late, but he is allowing LHB’s to post a .280 average, .439 slugging percentage, and a .825 OPS on the season. Devers is hitting much better on the road this season and has a .460 slugging percentage and a .768 OPS vs. RHP on the season. Lynn likes to pump fastball after fastball in on hitters and I think Devers will be able to barrel up a few tonight.
SS – Didi Gregorius (NYY - $4,000) – Didi Gregorius is back at home and when is swinging a bat against a RHP at Yankee Stadium, it’s always a good idea to get him in your lineups. Gregorius is hitting just .257 on the season but does have 14 HR’s and 40 RBI’s on the season and is hitting .364 over the past week. Gregorius has a .316 average in the month of June and has that nice matchup against the RHP Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners who is allowing LHB’s to post a .497 slugging percentage and .824 OPS against him on the year. Gregorius has a .593 slugging percentage and .969 OPS at home this season and as he has 12 of his 14 HR’s against RHP on the year, I like Gregorius tonight.
OF – Juan Soto (WAS - $3,800) – I’m going to be stacking Washington Nationals tonight and you better believe that I’m going to be getting Juan Soto in my lineups. Soto has been unbelievable this season as he has posted a .326 average, .420 OBP, 6 HR’s, and 14 RBI’s in just 86 AB’s this season. Soto is hitting .304 with 2 HR’s over the past week and .313 so far in the month of June. Soto has that great match-up against Andrew Cashner who can give up HR’s and has crushed Baltimore this season, as he is hitting .500 (7 for 14) against them on the season. Soto has a .353 average, .647 slugging percentage, and a 1.135 OPS at home this season and I’m pretty sure he is going to give the home crowd something to cheer for tonight.
OF –Bryce Harper (WAS- $4,100) – As great Juan Soto has been, it’s been hard to not overlook the struggles Bryce Harper is having as after getting off to an incredible start, it’s been a rough May/June for the superstar. Harper is currently hitting just .213 on the season but still has some nice power numbers as he has 19 HR’s and 44 RBI’s on the season. Harper is too good of a hitter to be in this type of a slump for much longer and I think tonight’s matchup against Andrew Cashner could be a great opportunity for Harper to get back on track as he is 5 for 11 (.455 average) against Cashner in his career. Harper has a .500 slugging percentage and .853 OPS vs. RHP on the season and as he generally hits better at home (.298 average, .561 slugging percentage, .986 OPS over past three season), I’ll take my chances with him tonight while his price is this low.
OF – Josh Reddick (HOU - $2,700) – To save a little salary, I decided to take my chances on Josh Reddick of the Houston Astros who comes into this game with a .241 average with 6 HR’s and 20 RBI’s. Reddick should be in the lineup tonight against the RHP Nathan Eovaldi of the Tampa Bay Rays who enters this game with a 4.63 ERA and has given up 4 HR’s in his last three starts. Eovaldi has struggled much more against LHB’s this season allowing them to post a .487 slugging percentage and .762 OPS. Reddick comes into this game with a .333 average over the past week and a .294 average in the month of June. Reddick has a .288 average and .823 OPS at home this season and has good value as he has a .455 average (5 for 11) against Eovaldi in his career.
Utility – Trea Turner (WAS - $3,900) - I’m completing my Nationals stack tonight against Andrew Cashner with their speedy shortstop, Trea Turner. Turner is starting to heat up as of late as although he is hitting just .267 on the season, he is hitting .375 over the past week. Turner is a great DFS option as he has enough power to hit HR’s as he has eight on the season and has some of the best speed in the game as has 20 SB’s. Turner has a .273 average and .773 OPS vs. RHP on the season and has been great against Baltimore this season, posting a .412 average and 1.091 OPS in 17 AB’s. Turner is 2 for 5 lifetime with a triple and 2 BB’s against Cashner and as I think he’ll be able to easily steal some bases against the right-hander if he gets on base tonight, I like Turner in all formats tonight.
Have a great Wednesday everyone and Good Luck tonight!
