DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/26/18
Update (6:15 pm) - Hi Everyone. The lineup should be good to go as I don't see Kike Hernandez, Nolan Arenado, or Ian Desmond sitting tonight in their solid match-ups! Double check closer to 7:05pm but we should be good! Good Luck!
Similar to our FanDuel lineups, we had a very solid DraftKings lineup last night as we easily cashed in our 50/50’s and had a nice performance in the GPP as we finished in 1154th place out of about 37,000 teams in the “MLB $250K Rally Cap” GPP. Let’s keep it going for tonight.
As much as I want to pay up for Luis Severino tonight, he is the most expensive pitcher on DraftKings tonight and as I want to have a few solid bats as there is a lot of good match-ups out their tonight, I’m going with some solid value plays at the pitching position tonight in Freddy Peralta (P) of the Milwaukee Brewers and Frankie Montas (P) of the Oakland Athletics. Peralta has been solid for the Brewers in his three starts this season as he has a 2.30 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and an incredible 14.36 K/9 ratio. Montas has also been very solid for the A’s in his 5 starts as he is 4-1 on the year with a 2.41 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Montas doesn’t have the same strikeout upside as Peralta but has shown he can pitch deep into the games and has gotten at least 20 DK points in 4 of his 5 starts this season.
On the offensive side of the ball, I’m going to be stacking the Red Sox tonight as the wind will be blowing out at Fenway Park and they have a favorable matchup against the LHP John Lamb of the Los Angeles Angels who comes into this game with a 5.40 ERA and is allowing RHB’s to post a .656 slugging percentage and .980 OPS. I’m going to be stacking Mookie Betts (OF), J.D. Martinez (OF), and Christian Vazquez (C/1B). Betts is starting to pick it up against as he is hitting .316 over the past week and on top of having 19 HR’s and 14 SB’s on the season, is hitting .384 at home this season. Martinez has 23 HR’s and 60 RBI’s on the season and is hitting .423 over the past week. Similar to Betts, Martinez has been outstanding at Fenway hitting .363 with 15 HR’s. Vazquez is a “punt” play however, I don’t hate him tonight against the LHP as he is hitting .292 (14-48) against LHP and does have enough pop in his bat to get us a HR.
As I was able to save some money at the pitching position, I was able to get some additional power bats from the Rockies in Nolan Arenado (3B) and Ian Desmond (1B) in their matchup against the LHP Derek Holland of the Giants. Desmond hasn’t been hitting for a great average this year but still has some of the best power numbers for 1B in the NL as he has a15 HR’s and 42 RBI’s. Desmond has a .936 OPS in the month of June has posted a .313 average and 1.022 OPS vs. LHP on the season. Arenado is expensive however, when he is going against a LHB, he is almost a must-play as he has a .444 average, .911 slugging percentage, and a 1.439 OPS against LHP on the season. Arenado has a 1.601 OPS over the past week and is 3 for 7 with a HR off Holland in his career.
The Padres have some of the best value on the board in their match-up tonight against Austin Bibens-Dirkx who hasn’t been great in his three starts this season as he has a 4.58 ERA and is allowing both RHB’s and LHB’s to hit over .300 against. I’m getting Jose Pirela (2B) and Manuel Margot (OF) in my lineup tonight in hopes that they can repeat their performances last night in which they both had HR’s. Pirela has been batting in the heart of the Padres order and is hitting .293 on the road this season while Margot has been on a tear as of late, hitting .385 over the past week with 2 HR’s and hitting .348 in the month of June.
Rounding out the lineup will be Kike Hernandez (SS) of the Los Angeles Dodgers who is almost a must play when he is going up against an LHP as he has a 7 HR’s in 90 AB’s against lefties this season. Hernandez has been on a tear as of late, hitting .320 with 3 HR’s over the past week and although he is matched up against Jon Lester of the Cubs tonight, Hernandez he has a .313 average, .813 slugging percentage, and a 1.201 OPS in 16 AB’s against Lester in his career.
Remember to check back later as I’ll make any necessary adjustments needed due to “Confirmed Lineups” and/or weather!
