DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB FanDuel Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/26/18
Update (6:11 pm) - Should be all set to go tonight. Kike Hernandez is currently the only non-confirmed started but I don't see how he is not getting the start tonight agianst a LHP. Good Luck!
We starting the week of with a bang last night as our Monday night teams had a big night. We finished with 177 points which helped us easily cash in our 50/50’s and come in 112th in the $100K Mon MLB Rally which has about 12,000 people in it! Let’s ride that momentum into tonight’s “Main Slate” which starts at 7:05 PM.
Starting off at the pitching position, as much as I wanted to take some value in Milwaukee’s Freddy Peralta, I’m going to spend up for Luis Severino (P) of the New York Yankees in his solid match-up against the Philadelphia Phillies. Severino has been lights out this season as he has an 11-2 record with a 2.24 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Severino has a 10.6 K/9 ratio and could be in for a double-digit strikeout night as the Phillies come into this matchup ranking dead last in MLB in team strikeout rate (9.70 K/game). Philadelphia ranks just 26th in batting average (.236) vs. RHP on the season and as Severino is holding opponents to just a .199 average on the season, I think he is in for a big night.
On the offensive side of the ball, I’m going to be stacking the Red Sox tonight as the wind will be blowing out at Fenway Park and they have a favorable matchup against the LHP John Lamb of the Los Angeles Angels who comes into this game with a 5.40 ERA and is allowing RHB’s to post a .656 slugging percentage and .980 OPS. I’m going to be stacking Mookie Betts (OF), J.D. Martinez (OF), and Christian Vazquez (C/1B). Betts is starting to pick it up against as he is hitting .316 over the past week and on top of having 19 HR’s and 14 SB’s on the season, is hitting .384 at home this season. Martinez has 23 HR’s and 60 RBI’s on the season and is hitting .423 over the past week. Similar to Betts, Martinez has been outstanding at Fenway hitting .363 with 15 HR’s. Vazquez is a “punt” play however, I don’t hate him tonight against the LHP as he is hitting .292 (14-48) against LHP and does have enough pop in his bat to get us a HR.
Along with the Red Sox, we’re going to be going with another stack with the San Diego Padres as their bats have some great value tonight in a nice matchup in the warm air of Texas against Austin Bibens-Dirkx. Bibens-Dirkx hasn’t been that impressive in his three starts this season as he has a 4.58 ERA and is allowing both LHB’s and RHB’s to hit over .300 against him on the year. For the Padres stack, I’m going with Jose Pirela (2B), Cory Spangenberg (3B), Manuel Margot (OF), and Wil Myers (Utility). Pirela hasn’t showed much power on the season but did get his 2nd HR last night and is hitting .293 on the road this season. Spangenberg is hitting .300 in the month of June and has hits in 6 of his last 7 games. Margot has been on a tear as of late, hitting .385 over the past week with 2 HR’s while hitting .348 in the month of June. Myers has struggled since returning from injury, however, has a .801 OPS vs. LHP over his last three seasons and is too good of a hitter not to snap out of his recent struggles soon.
Rounding out the lineup will be Kike Hernandez (SS) of the Los Angeles Dodgers who is almost a must play when he is going up against an LHP as he has a 7 HR’s in 90 AB’s against lefties this season. Hernandez has been on a tear as of late, hitting .320 with 3 HR’s over the past week and although he is matched up against Jon Lester of the Cubs tonight, Hernandez he has a .313 average, .813 slugging percentage, and a 1.201 OPS in 16 AB’s against Lester in his career.
Remember to check back later as I’ll make any necessary adjustments needed due to “Confirmed Lineups” and/or weather!
