DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/27/18
Update (5:22 PM) - Hi Everyone! Had to make some adjustments as Vazquez isn't getting the start tonight. Here are the changes:
C - Replaced Chrisitan Vazquez with John Ryan Murphy (ARZ) - Good power vs. LHP and has a nice matchup against LHP Chen of the Marlins.
2B - Replaced Brian Dozier with Eduardo Nunez (BOS) - Still want a 4-person Red Sox stack tonight with the wind blowing out at home and like that Nunez is batting 6th in the order.
3B - Replaced Chrisitan Villanueva with Luis Valbuena (LAA) - Batting 5th tonight and has great HR-upside at Fenway Park.
SS - Replaced Ehire Adrianza with Nick Ahmed (ARZ) - Batting 2nd with the good matchup agianst the LHP Chen who has struggled agianst RHB's.
Good Luck Everyone!
We couldn’t get it done with our DraftKings lineup last night as although Freddy Peralta and our Red Sox stack came though for us, it couldn’t overcome the lack luster performance of Frankie Montas and some tough games by Nolan Arenado, Jose Pirela, and Manuel Margot.
Let’s get back on track today as we look at the “Main Slate” that starts at 7:05pm tonight.
It’s not the great pitching slate tonight but I think we have two very solid options in Cleveland’s Shane Bieber (P) and the Dodgers Alex Wood (P). Bieber has looked solid in his last two starts for the Indians and comes into this game with a 2.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP on the season. I like Bieber as he throws a ton of strikes and has the ability to force swinging strikes as evident by his 10.8 K/9 ratio. Bieber is a bit risky, but certainly has the upside of a 30+ point night. Wood looked solid against he Mets in his last outing (6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 7 K’s) and I like his matchup tonight against a Cubs team in which the only current roster player that has done damage against him (Kris Bryant) will be on the sidelines watching this one. Wood should have a good chance to pick up a win in this one against the struggling Cubs and could get us 25-30 points if he can go at least 6 innings.
The Red Sox stack last night came through for us in a big way and I’m going right back to Fenway Park tonight as the wind will be bellowing hard out to left-field. The Red Sox face a tougher matchup in the LHP Andrew Henley of the Angels however, it really hasn’t matter who the Angels have put on the mound against the Red Sox this year as Boston has put up 36 runs in just 4 games against the Angels this season. We’re going right back with J.D. Martinez (OF) and Mookie Betts (OF). Martinez crushed his 24th HR last night and is hitting .364 at Fenway Park this season and there is no way I’m going against Mookie Betts as he has posted an incredible 2.100 OPS (that is not a mistake!!!) against the Angels this season. Christian Vazquez (C) came through for us last night with a HR and as he is hitting .286 against LHP, I’ll take my chances with him tonight at just $2,600. Jackie Bradley Jr. (OF) is a streaky hitter and has been hitting the ball hard as of late as he has had back to back 3-hit games and I’m encouraged that he is turning it around as he was taking the ball to the opposite field last night.
I’m going to be targeting a few players from Minnesota tonight in Ehire Adrianza (SS) and Brian Dozier (2B) as they will be going up against the RHP James Shields of the White Sox who comes into this game with a 4.59 ERA and has allowed 8 HR’s over his past 5 starts. Adrianza went 2 for 3 with a HR last night and has all 4 of his HR’s against RHP on the season. Adrianza had a huge game as a punt play last time we used him (3 for 4, HR, 4 RBI’s, 2 R) and I’m hoping that he can produce for our lineups again. Brian Dozier is hitting just .211 on the season however, is hitting .273 over the past week and has decent power as he has 11 HR’s on the season. Dozier has fared well against Shields in his career as in 42 career AB’s, he has a .310 average/.714 slugging percentage/1.114 OPS with 4 HR’s.
Rounding out our lineup will be Paul Goldschmidt (1B) & Christian Villanueva (3B) who have nice matchups tonight as they have both, absolutely crushed LHP on the season. Goldschmidt will be up against Wei-Tin Chen who currently has a 6.70 ERA and is allowing RHB’s to post a .314 average and .951 OPS against him. Goldschmidt is one MLB best against LHP as he has posted a .312 average, .714 slugging percentage, and a 1.32 OPS against them on the season and I think he can improve those numbers tonight against Chen. Villanueva will be up against the LHP Mike Minor on the season who although has pitched better as of late, still comes into this matchup with a 5.06 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. Villanueva is hitting .300 over the past week and comes into this game with a .324 average/.803 slugging percentage/1.175 OPS vs. LHP on the season.
Please remember to check back for any necessary changes due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather!
