DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/26/18
Update (6:27 PM) - Cleveland hasn't released their starting lineups yet but I'm pretty confident that we're good to go! Good Luck Tonight!
Hi Everyone! We couldn’t cash with our lineups for the afternoon yesterday, but we came back strong at night with a 93.8 point performance that allowed us to cash in our 50/50’s last night. We have a big slate of games tonight so let’s keep that momentum and have a big night tonight.
At the pitching positions tonight we’re going to pay up for Arizona’s Patrick Corbin (P) and hope to find some value with Toronto’s Marcus Stroman (P). Corbin looked like the pitcher we saw earlier this season in his last outing against the Pirates as he threw a gem (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 12 K’s). Corbin is holding opponents to just a .201 average on the season and had a solid 26.7 point performance against the Giants in early June. Corbin has struggled a bit at home lately, however, if he has that curveball working, I can see a 10+ K night for the left-hander. Stroman has some of the best value on the board with his matchup against the Detroit Tigers. Stroman had a tough start to his season, but looked great after a 6-week stint on the DL last week against the Angels as he went 5 innings, giving up no runs while striking out 5. Stroman is a much better pitcher than his 6.80 ERA and 1.68 WHIP indicates and still can strikeout opponents as he has a respectable 7.9 K/9 ratio this season. Stroman is holding the current Tigers roster to just a .200 average and Detroit currently ranks just 21st in MLB in team batting average vs. RHP.
On the offensive side of the ball, I’m loading up on the Cleveland Indians tonight as they have one of the better matchups on the slate against Oakland’s RHP Paul Blackburn. Blackburn has been hit hard in 2 of his last 3 starts and comes into this game with a 8.83 ERA and 1.56 WHIP on the season. Blackburn is allowing opponents to post a .324 average, .507 slugging percentage, and a .871 OPS against him on the season. I’m rolling with Jason Kipnis (2B), Jose Ramirez (3B), and Francisco Lindor (SS). Kipnis has been playing much better as of late, hitting .368 over the past week and currently has a 4-game hitting streak. Ramirez has 20 of his 23 HR’s vs RHP on the season and is posting a 1.055 OPS vs righties on the year. Lindor has posted a .292 average with 3 HR’s over the past week and has 14 of his 19 HR’s vs. RHP on the season.
I’m going to hope that some of the Toronto bats can give Stroman some support tonight as I’m going to roster Teoscar Hernandez (OF) and Randal Grichuk (OF) in their solid matchup against the LHP Francisco Liriano who didn’t look that sharp last week after missing about a month due to injury. Hernandez has been a nice source of power for the Blue Jays this year, hitting 13 HR’s, and has posted a .876 OPS vs. LHP. Hernandez is also 1 for 2 against Liriano in his career with a HR. Grichuk has started to find his swing from the Blue Jays as over his past 10 games, he has 4 HR’s for the Blue Jays. Grichuk has a .357 career (5 for 14) average against Liriano and a .889 OPS vs. Detroit this season.
In my other outfield slot, I’m going with a value pick in the White Sox’s Avisail Garcia (OF). Garcia and the White Sox have one of the better matchups on the slate against the RHP Yovani Gallardo of the Rangers who comes into this game with a 12.08 ERA. Garcia is hitting just .238 with 3 HR’s and 7 RBI’s in 25 games this season, but he does have decent HR power and is 3 for 10 with 2 HR’s against Gallardo in his career.
I’m going with a few value plays to round out my lineup today in Boston’s Christian Vazquez (C) and Baltimore’s Chris Davis (1B). Vazquez has really picked it up on the offensive end as of late as over the past week he is hitting .375 with a HR. Vazquez has posted a .286 average and .702 OPS vs. LHP on the year and has hit .315 in the month of June. Chris Davis looks as if he is finally turning things around for the Orioles as over his past two games he is 3 for 8 with 2 HR’s and 4 RBI’s. Davis has a ton of HR-upside and I’m willing to take a chance with him tonight as he has a nice matchup against the RHP Felix Pena of the Angels who has a 5.40 ERA and 1.63 WHIP.
Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary adjustments to the lineup due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.
Good Luck tonight!
