DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/30/18 – Main Slate (7:15 PM)
Update (6:11 PM) - Need will replace Vazquez tonight as he is not getting the start. I'm going to go with Omar Narvaez with the White Sox in his good match-up Colon. We'll also have to make sure that Crawford is going but I can't see him no playing today. Good Luck!
Hi Everyone! We already released our lineup for our afternoon slate that starts at 4:05 PM and now will be looking at the action that will be going on tonight!
Chris Sale is the top-tier option tonight and although he has looked outstanding as of late, he does face a tough matchup against the New York Yankees and I’m just not willing to pay $12,000 tonight. I’m going to roll out Kenta Maeda (P) of the Dodgers and Joey Lucchesi (P) of the Padres. Maeda had a few rough starts recently after coming back from a minor injury, however, the Dodgers RHP has shown his potential this season as he has had 4 games with 50+ FanDuel points, including a 58 points performance (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 9 K) agianst the Cubs earlier this week. Maeda has an outstanding K/9 ratio of 10.59 and you have to like his matchup against the Rockies who rank just 19th in team batting average vs. RHP and also rank 21st in team strikeout rate. Lucchesi has had a great first season with the Padres as the left-hander with a strange throwing motion comes into this game with a 3.57 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Lucchesi has a solid 9.3 K/9 ratio and will be facing the Rangers who rank 28th in MLB in team strikeout rate. Lucchesi has some risk, but he has as much upside as anyone on this slate, and I’ll take my chances in hopes that he can get us 20-30 points.
On the offensive side of the ball, I’m going to be stacking the Boston Red Sox against the RHP Sonny Gray of the New York Yankees as I expect the Red Sox to bounce back strong after their blowout loss last night. Gray has been nothing special this season as he has posted a 4.93 ERA and 1.44 WHIP and was rocked by Boston in his one start against them this season as he lasted just 3 innings, giving up 6 ER’s on 7 hits. For the Red Sox, I’m going to be rostering Mitch Moreland (C/1B), Eduardo Nunez (2B), Andrew Benintendi (OF), and Christian Vazquez (C). Moreland has posted a .290 average with 11 HR’s and 40 RBI’s on the season and has had plenty of success against Gray as he has a .296 average (8 for 27) with 4 HR’s agianst him in his career. Nunez is hitting .313 over the past week with a HR and also has had some nice success against Gray in his career as he is 4 for 10 with a HR against the RHP. Benintendi is hitting .286 on the season with 13 HR’s and 52 RBI’s and has crushed the Yankees this season to the tune of a .348 average with 3 doubles, 1 triple, and a HR. I’m punting the catcher position tonight and figured that I might as well go with Vazquez as he is hitting .286 over the past week and .298 in the month of June. Vazquez has some pop in his bat and as it will be warm with the wind blowing out at Yankee Stadium tonight, I figured there are worse options at $2,800.
For the rest of my infield, I’ll be going with Mike Moustakas (3B) of the Royals and Brandon Crawford (SS) of the Giants. Moustakas will be up agianst Felix Hernandez of the Mariners who although has pitched better as of late, isn’t the same “King Felix” we’ve seen in the past as he comes into this game with a 5.10 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. Moustakas is hitting just .258 on the season but does have 15 HR’s and 50 RBI’s and has great career numbers agianst Hernandez as he is 6 for 19 (.316 average) with 2 HR’s against the RHP. Crawford has a nice matchup against the RHP Shelby Miller of the Arizona Diamondbacks who didn’t look great in his first start of the season last week agianst the Marlins. Crawford is hitting .313 on the season with 9 HR’s and has been outstanding as of late as in the past week he is hitting .409 with 2 doubles, a triple, and a HR.
Rounding our team in the outfield will be the Dodgers Joc Pederson (OF) and the White Sox’s Adam Engel (OF). Pederson has really picked it up in the month of June as for the month he is hitting .304 with 10 HR’s and you have to like his matchup against German Marquez and the Rockies as he is hitting .385 against the Rockies on the year. Engel will be my 2nd punt play of the night but you have to like his chances to do some damage against Bartolo Colon of the Rangers who has a 4.72 ERA and has given up a bunch of HR’s on the season. Engel is hitting .286 over the past week and is 1 for 3 lifetime with a double agianst Colon. Engel has some speed as he has 10 SB’s and if he can get on base against Colon, I think he can get us a SB tonight.
Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary adjustments to the lineup due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.
