DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB FanDuel Lineups, Picks & Advice – 6/30/18 – Main Slate (7:15 PM)
Hi Everyone! We already released our lineup for our afternoon slate that starts at 4:05 PM and now will be looking at the action that will be going on tonight!
Chris Sale is the top-tier option tonight and although he has looked outstanding as of late, he does face a tough matchup against the New York Yankees and I’m just not willing to pay $12,000 tonight. I’m going to roll out Kenta Maeda (P) of the Dodgers as I love his matchup against the Colorado Rockies tonight. Maeda had a few rough starts recently after coming back from a minor injury, however, the Dodgers RHP has shown his potential this season as he has had 4 games with 50+ FanDuel points, including a 58 points performance (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 9 K) agianst the Cubs earlier this week. Maeda has an outstanding K/9 ratio of 10.59 and you have to like his matchup against the Rockies who rank just 19th in team batting average vs. RHP and also rank 21st in team strikeout rate.
On the offensive side of the ball, I’m going to be stacking the Boston Red Sox against the RHP Sonny Gray of the New York Yankees as I expect the Red Sox to bounce back strong after their blowout loss last night. Gray has been nothing special this season as he has posted a 4.93 ERA and 1.44 WHIP and was rocked by Boston in his one start against them this season as he lasted just 3 innings, giving up 6 ER’s on 7 hits. For the Red Sox, I’m going to be rostering Mitch Moreland (C/1B), Eduardo Nunez (2B), J.D. Martinez (OF), and Andrew Benintendi (OF). Moreland has posted a .290 average with 11 HR’s and 40 RBI’s on the season and has had plenty of success against Gray as he has a .296 average (8 for 27) with 4 HR’s agianst him in his career. Nunez is hitting .313 over the past week with a HR and also has had some nice success against Gray in his career as he is 4 for 10 with a HR against the RHP. Martinez has been arguably the best hitter in baseball this season as he comes into this game with a .321 average, 25 HR’s and 64 RBI”s and has 22 for his 25 HR’s vs. RHP on the year. Benintendi is hitting .286 on the season with 13 HR’s and 52 RBI’s and has crushed the Yankees this season to the tune of a .348 average with 3 doubles, 1 triple, and a HR. It will be warm with the wind blowing out at Yankee Stadium tonight, so I like the Red Sox offensive a ton tonight!
I’m getting a few Kansas City Royals in my lineup tonight in their matchup against Felix Hernandez of the Mariners. Hernandez has pitched better as of late, but still isn’t that same guy that we’ve seen in the past as he comes into this game with a 5.10 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. I’m going to be going with Mike Moustakas (3B) and taking a chance with Jorge Bonifacio (Utility) as a “punt” play tonight. Moustakas is hitting just .258 on the season but does have 15 HR’s and 50 RBI’s and has great career numbers agianst Hernandez as he is 6 for 19 (.316 average) with 2 HR’s against the RHP. Bonifacio was just reinstated from his suspension and was right back in the lineup last night against Seattle. Bonifacio has HR-upside as he hit 17 HR’s last season with the Royals and posted a .767 OPS vs. RHP last season.
I’m going out west to round out my lineup tonight as I’m going to be going with the Dodgers Joc Pederson (OF) and the Giants Brandon Crawford (SS). Pederson has really picked it up in the month of June as for the month he is hitting .304 with 10 HR’s and you have to like his matchup against Colorado as he is hitting .385 against the Rockies on the year. Crawford has a nice matchup against the RHP Shelby Miller of the Arizona Diamondbacks who didn’t look great in his first start of the season last week agianst the Marlins. Crawford is hitting .313 on the season with 9 HR’s and has been outstanding as of late as in the past week he is hitting .409 with 2 doubles, a triple, and a HR.
Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary adjustments to the lineup due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.
