DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB FanDuel Lineups, Picks & Advice – 7/2/18
Hi Everyone! We couldn’t end our week with a win yesterday afternoon after we just couldn’t recover from the tough start that Freddy Peralta had for the Brewers. I wished just stacked the MIN/CHC game as we did get some Cubs in our updated lineup but not enough to get us the win. Let’s try to rebound tonight and get off to a good start to the week.
Pitching was a tough call as I really want to go with Kluber tonight, however, after trying to find the punt plays to help on the offensive end, I just couldn’t get a lineup I felt confident with. Instead, I’m going to hope for some value tonight in Tampa Bay's Nathan Eovaldi (P) who is coming off his best game of the season. Eovaldi posted a monster 55-point performance in his last outing against the Nationals (6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 9 K) and has a solid matchup against the Miami Marlins tonight. Eovaldi certainly has the ability to pile up K’s as he has a respectable 7.6 K/9 ratio and the Marlins come into this game ranked 20th in team strikeout rate. Miami has posted just a .243 average/.679 OPS vs. RHP on the season and although Eovaldi has a 4.08 ERA, he is holding opponents to just a .189 average and has an impressive 0.82 WHIP.
On the offensive side of the ball, I’m going to be stacking the Indians in their solid matchup against Jakob Junis who has really struggled as of late as he has given up at least 3 ER’s in each of his last six starts while also allowing 10 HR’s in his last four starts. I’m going to be rolling with Edwin Encarnacion (C/1B), Francisco Lindor (SS), and Lonnie Chisenhall (OF). Encarnacion might be hitting just .233 on the season but has 20 HR’s and 56 RBI’s on the season. Encarnacion has 17 for his 20 HR’s vs. RHP and has posted a .834 OPS vs. right-handed pitching on the season. Lindor has 21 HR’s on the season and is coming off a great series in Oakland in which he went 6 for 12 with 3 doubles, 2 HR’s, and 4 RBI’s. Lindor is 4 for 7 with 2 doubles and HR against Junis in his career. Chisenhall is hitting .350 over the past week with a HR and 5 RBI’s and has a .325 average against RHP on the season.
The New York Yankees have one of the higher run totals today and I wanted to get some exposure in their matchup against the RHP Anibal Sanchez of the Atlanta Braves. Sanchez has pitched well this season for the Braves however, he has looked a bit shaky over his last two starts, giving up 6 ER’s in 9.2 IP. Sanchez has been known in the past to give up HR’s and I’m going to be getting Aaron Judge (OF) and Miguel Andujar (3B) in my lineup today. Judge has some of the best power in the game and has just been an absolute monster at home this season, posting a .357 average, .727 slugging percentage, and a 1.206 OPS. Judge is hitting .350 over the past week and has been much better against RHP on the season. Andujar has been a nice surprise for the Yankees this season and comes into this game with a .282 average, 12 HR’s, and 38 RBI’s. Andujar has a .299 average and .823 OPS vs. RHP on the year.
Pittsburgh’s Josh Harrison (2B) will complete our infield tonight as we love his matchup against the LHP Alex Wood of the Dodgers. Wood has been decent this season but not outstanding and has given up 10 HR’s to RHB’s on the season. Harrison has crushed the Dodgers to the tune of a .455 average (5-11) this season and has always seen Alex Wood well as he has posted a .316 average, .579 slugging percentage, and a .895 OPS against the left-hander in 19 career AB’s.
Rounding out our team with be a couple of outfielders in the Reds Scott Schebler (OF) and the Rays Wilson Ramos (Utility). We had to get some action against the White Sox’s James Shields and had enough salary to get Scott Schebler in our lineup who comes into this game hitting .278 on the season with 10 HR’s and 32 RBI’s. Schebler is hitting .304 at home on the season and is 1 for 2 lifetime with a HR against Shields in his career. Ramos has a great matchup against Wei-Yin Chen who comes into this game with a 6.14 ERA and 1.62 WHIP while allowing RHB’s to post a .318 average and .941 OPS against him. Ramos has 11 HR’s on the season and has been hitting be ball well as of late, posting a .300 average in his last 20 AB’s.
Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary adjustments to the lineup due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.
