DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineup, Picks & Advice – 7/9/18
We didn’t have the great weekend with our DraftKings picks as although we were all over Nathan Eovaldi (37.15 points) and Chris Davis (14 points), we couldn’t cash in our 50/50’s as our Cleveland stack of Lindor, Ramirez, and Guyer got us a combined 10 points. Let’s get back on track to start the week as we take a look at the 7:05 Main Slate!
I’m going to the Red Sox game tonight so I’m loading up on the Red Sox, which includes Eduardo Rodriguez (P), in their matchup agianst the Texas Rangers. Rodriguez comes into this game with a 10-3 overall record while sporting a solid 3.84 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. Rodriguez pitched outstanding in his recent outing vs. Washington, going 6.0 innings, giving up no runs on three hits, while striking out six. Rodriguez has an impressive 9.61 K/9 ratio and if he does a good job attacking the Rangers hitters tonight, he could have a big night as the Rangers rank 27th in team strikeout rate. For our second pitcher, we’re going to hope that the Cubs Kyle Hendricks (P) can get back on the winning track after a few rough starts over the past month. Hendricks still has a respectable 4.27 ERA and faces a Giants team that can be really hit or miss on the offensive end. Over the last three seasons, Hendricks is holding the Giants to just a .213 average and I’m thinking we are going to see a bounce back performance by Hendricks tonight.
As I already mentioned, I’m going to the Red Sox game tonight and as the wind is blowing out hard over the green monster tonight, I’m stacking the Red Sox. We didn’t hold back any salary for the Red Sox tonight as we’re going with Eduardo Nunez (2B), Xander Bogaerts (SS), Mookie Betts (OF), J.D. Martinez (OF), and Steve Pearce (Utility) in their great matchup agianst the Rangers LHP Mike Minor. Minor comes into this game with a 4.63 ERA and didn’t look that sharp in his recent start against Houston (6.0 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 HR) last Wednesday. Nunez is starting to pick it up as of late as he is hitting .389 over the past week and has hits in 12 of his last 13 games. Bogaerts is hitting .281 on the season with 14 HR’s and has been outstanding as of late, hitting .400 with 2 HR’s over the past week. Mookie is hitting .370 with 2 HR’s over the past week and has been outstanding vs. LHP on the year, posting a .358 average, .746 slugging percentage, and a 1.184 OPS. Martinez has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season is hitting .329 with 27 HR’s and has been unstoppable at home this season, posting a .361 average, .803 slugging percentage, and a 1.214 OPS. Pearce has been great since being picked up by the Red Sox and has been great against LHP, posting a .321 average and .921 OPS.
With all the money we spent on the Red Sox tonight, we needed to get some value elsewhere and will be heading out to Pittsburgh as we’re going to take both Francisco Cervelli (C) and Colin Moran (3B) in their nice matchup agianst the RHP Jefry Rodriguez. Rodriguez was not impressive in his last two starts in late June as he gave up a combined 9 hits and 9 ER’s over those two starts agianst Philadelphia and Baltimore. Cervelli returned from an injury yesterday and looked solid at the plate, going 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Cervelli is hitting .258 on the season with 9 HR’s and has posted a .285 average and .939 OPS vs. RHP. Moran has some decent power with 8 HR’s on the year and has been great at home this season, posting a .303 average with 4 HR’s and 23 RBI’s.
Rounding out the lineup with be Tyler Naquin (OF) in his nice matchup agianst the RHP Anthony DeSclafani. DeSclafani comes into this game with a 5.08 ERA and has been giving up HR’s in bunches as he currently has a 2.4 HR/9 ratio. Naquin is getting regular time in the outfield since Lonnie Chisenhall went on the DL and in his 49 games played this season, he is hitting .260 with 2 HR’s and 16 RBI’s. Naquin is hitting .284 at home on the season and .289 in “night” games.
