DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB FanDuel Lineup, Picks & Advice – 7/14/18
Hi Everyone! We had a decent performance last night putting up 144.6 points and although we didn’t hit our GPP’s, we were able to have a profitable night cashing in our 50/50’s. We got a couple of strong performance from our Rockies players, Carlos Gonzalez (27.6 points) and Charlie Blackmon (24.7 points), and got nice start from Madison Bumgarner (40 points). Let’s keep cashing and take a look at tonight’s “main slate” that starts at 7:15 PM.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to be going with the Cubs Kyle Henricks (P) who has a solid match-up agianst the San Diego Padres. Hendricks really struggled in the month of June, posting a 7.03 ERA over five starts, however, has looked better over his last two starts and is coming off a gem agianst the Giants in which he went 8.1 innings, giving up no runs while striking out 8. Henricks match-up against the Padres is what really stands out today as the Padres come into this game rank 26th in MLB average (.232 average) and 28th in team strikeout rate. Hendricks is holding opponents to just a .244 average and has had some success against the current Padres roster as he is holding them to just a .226 average.
We’re going to start our offense with a Baltimore stack agianst the LHP Martin Perez of the Texas Rangers who will be making his first start since April due to an elbow injury. Perez really struggled in five starts this year as he comes into this game with a 9.67 ERA and 2.37 WHIP. Perez has given up 7 HR’s in just 22.1 IP on the season and has really struggled against the Orioles roster as he is allowing them to post .316 average and a .904 OPS. For the Orioles, we’re going to be stacking Jonathan Schoop (2B), Manny Machado (SS), Mark Trumbo (OF), and Danny Valencia (OF). Schoop has really picked it up as of late as he is hitting .382 over the past week with 5 doubles. Schoop has hits in 11 of his past 12 games and has a .400 (4 for 10) career average with a HR vs. Perez. Machado has been a monster this season, hitting 23 HR’s and is hitting .345 over the past week. Machado is hitting .357 with 16 HR’s at home this season and has a .313 average/.984 OPS vs. Perez in 16 career AB’s. Trumbo is starting to pick up it bit as he now has 12 HR’s and like most of the Orioles, he has some good success agianst Perez as he is 5 for 15 lifetime against the LHP with 2 HR’s. It’s been a struggle for Valencia as of late, however, he has posted a .289 average/.895 OPS vs. LHP on the season and has a .308 average (8 for 26) with a HR against Perez in his career.
We’re going back out to Coors Field tonight as we were able to afford both Ian Desmond (C/1B) and Nolan Arenado (3B) in their matchup agianst Seattle’s LHP Wade LeBlanc. Desmond is hitting just .228 on the season but has shown some great power numbers this season as he has 18 HR’s and 55 RBI’s on the year. Desmond is hitting .333 over the past week, has a .915 OPS vs. LHP, and is 3 for 9 with three doubles against LeBlanc in his career. Arenado has crushed LHP this season to the tune of a .407 average, .805 slugging percentage, and a 1.305 OPS and you have to love him in this matchup at home where he has posted a .361 average and a 1.132 OPS. Arenado is 2 for 4 in his career against LeBlanc and you have to like his chances for a HR as Leblanc gave up 3 HR’s in his outing last week at home against the Rockies.
Rounding out the team tonight will be Shin-soo Choo (OF) of the Texas Rangers and Buster Posey (Utility) of the Giants. The Rangers have a solid matchup against Yefry Ramirez who struggled in his last start against the Yankees (4.0 IP, 9 H, 4 ER) and is allowing LHB’s to post a .300 average and .850 OPS. Choo has had a nice season as he has posted a .289 average with 17 HR’s and 42 RBI’s and has reached base in an incredible 49 straight games. Choo has posted a .299 average and .958 OPS vs. LHP on the season and has a .300 average during night games. Posey will be up agianst the LHP Brett Anderson of the Oakland Athletics tonight who although looked good in his last start after missing about two months due to injury, is still posting a 5.75 ERA and 1.77 WHIP on the year. Posey has five hits over his past two games and has been great at home this season, posting a .326 average. Posey has a .302 average and .888 OPS vs. LHP on the season and should have some success tonight as Anderson is allowing RHB’s to post a .338 average, .569 slugging percentage, and a .955 OPS.
