DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB DraftKings Lineup, Picks & Advice - 7/26/18

Hi Everyone! We continued our recent streak of cashes with our DraftKings lineup last night as for the 3rd consecutive slate, we cased in both our 50/50’s and GPP’s with a 139.45-point performance. Our Angels stack carried the way for us as Tyler Skaggs (31.1 points), Mike Trout (41 points), Shohei Ohtani (18 points), and Luis Valbuena (18 points) accounted for 77.5% of our overall total. Let’s keep this momentum going as we look at 9-game “featured” slate that starts at 7:05pm.

On the mound tonight, we’re going to be going with a couple of rookies tonight in Pittsburgh’s Nick Kingham (P) and the Giants Dereck Rodriguez (P). The rookie RHP for the Pirates has been pretty solid this season, posting a 4.11 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Kingham has lasted at least 6 innings in each of his last three starts (18.2 IP, 6 ER, 17 K’s) and has a respectable 8.5 K/9 ratio on the season. Kingham has given RHB’s a ton of trouble this season, holding them to just a .195 average/.248 OPS. The Mets rank dead last in MLB in team batting average (.227) and 27th in runs scored and also strikeout as a team more than average as they rank 20th in team strikeout rate (8.66 K/game). Kingham doesn’t have as much upside as some over pitchers tonight, but I think he is pretty safe in this matchup and I think he can get us 25 points tonight. Rodriguez has been great for the Giants this year, posting a 5-1 record with an impressive 2.72 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. Rodriguez has just a 7.1 K/9 ratio however, I think he can pick up some K’s tonight against a Brewers team, who ranks 26th in team strikeout rate. Rodriguez has been solid against both RHB’s and LHB’s on the season and I do like has he has limited damage with the long ball as he has allowed just 3 HR’s on the season. I think Rodriguez is a sneaky solid play tonight and you have to be impressed after holding the Oakland A’s (who are crushing the ball right now) to just 1 ER over 6.1 IP in his last start.

On the offensive end tonight, we’re going to start off with a New York Yankees stack in Gregory Bird (1B), Didi Gregorius (SS), Aaron Judge (OF) and Aaron Hicks (OF) in their matchup against Jakob Junis of the Kansas City Royals. Junis could be in for a long night at Yankee stadium as he comes not this game with a 5.03 ERA and has given up a bunch of HR’s as he has a 2.0 HR/9 ratio. Bird has been a little disappointing this season as he is hitting just .231 on the season, however, Bird has great power and does have 8 HR’s on the season. Bird has posted a .500 slugging percentage/.814 OPS vs. RHP and has been much better at home this season (.805 OPS). Gregorius has some great value on FanDuel tonight and although he is hitting just .262 on the season, he has shown that he has plenty of power as he comes into this game with 17 HR’s and 56 RBI’s. Gregorius has been a monster at home this season, posting a .286 average and .915 OPS. Judge continues to be one of the better power hitters in MLB as he comes into this game with a .283 average with 26 HR’s and 61 RBI’s. Judge has a .291 average vs. RHP on the season and also has been incredible at home as he comes into this game with a .371 average/.754 Slugging Percentage/1.240 OPS. Hicks has been DTD with a shoulder injury, however, it looked like he was available off the bench yesterday so I’m banking that he is back in the lineup today although we’ll have to make sure of this before the lineups lock. If Hicks is a go, I like him tonight as he has hit 16 HR’s on the season and is in the great matchup against Junis at home. Hicks has crushed Kansas City this season as he is 7 for 12 against them on the season and is a perfect 3 for 3 lifetime against Junis in his career.

Behind the plate tonight, we’re going with Minnesota’s Mitch Garver (C/1B). Garver will be up against the LHP Brian Johnson of the Red Sox who is at best, an average pitcher, who is allowing RHB’s to post a .293 average against him. Garver has been on fire in his last two games, going 7 for 10 with a HR and 5 RBI’s and between the fact that he has HR-upside and that he will be at the very hitter friendly Fenway Park tonight, I think he makes a solid value play.

Rounding out the rest of the infield will be Pittsburgh’s Sean Rodriguez (2B) and the Giants Chase d’Arnaud (3B). Rodriguez will be up against the LHP Steven Matz of the Mets who has been a little shaky as of late and can get hit hard against RHB’s. Rodriguez is hitting just .174 on the season, however, is hitting .400 over the past week with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s. Rodriguez has posted a .270 average and .914 OPS vs. LHP on the season and has been hitting for a better average at PNC Park. d’Arnaud will be up against the LHP Wade Miley of the Brewers who although has been solid in limited action for the Brewers, has been a little wild (11 walks on 17.1 IP) and I expect has numbers will regress a bit as this is the same LHP who a 5.37 ERA in 2016 and 5.61 ERA in 2017. d’Arnaud only has 31 AB’s on the season but had posted a .290 average with 2 HR’s and 3 RBI’s and has been great against LHP, posting a .444 average (8 for 18) with a .833 slugging percentage and 1.277 WHIP.

Rounding out the team in the OF, we’re going to be going with the slugging Joc Pederson (OF) of the Dodgers. Pederson will be up against Anibal Sanchez of the Braves who is coming off a rough start against the Nationals in which he allowed 2 HR’s. Sanchez has been a nice surprise for the Braves, however, I expect his numbers to regress a bit as this the same pitcher that pretty much had pretty much a 5+ ERA over his last three seasons. Pederson is hitting .556 with a HR since the All-Star break and has posted an impressive .292 average/.980 OPS vs. LHP on the season.

Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary updates to the lineup due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.

Good Luck Tonight!
