Update (5:56 PM) - Changing some things around. Putting a PHI stack in there to go with our MIL bats. Image is updated below. Good Luck!
Hi Everyone! It was a tough night for us yesterday as our 108.80-point performance wasn’t enough for us to cash in either our GPP’s or 50/50’s. We got some solid performances from our offense in our early games as Rhys Hoskins (31.4 points), Gary Sanchez (18.2 points), and Giancarlo Stanton (16.2 points), however, our 4-man Colorado stack really disappointed as Arenado, Story, Blackmon, and Desmond combined for just 9 points. Let’s get back on track tonight as we look at the tonight’s 8-game “Main” slate that starts at 7:05pm tonight.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to be going with the White Sox’s Reynaldo Lopez (P). Lopez comes into this game with a 4.22 ERA and 1.31 WHIP on the season and we like him at this price tonight as he is pitching some of his best baseball of the season as of late and has an outstanding match-up against the Baltimore Orioles. In his last three starts, Lopez has gone 20 IP, giving up just 2 ER’s while striking out 22 hitters. Lopez is holding his opponents to just a .240 average and will be facing a Baltimore team that ranks just 27th in team batting average vs. RHP (.240 average) and 22nd in team strikeout rate (8.69 K/game). Lopez has just a 7.0 K/9 ratio this season, however has at least 6 K’s in 5 of his last 7 starts and I think that trend continues against Baltimore tonight.
On the offensive end, we’re going to start off with a 3-man stack of Milwaukee Brewers in Travis Shaw (2B), Mike Moustakas (3B), and Christian Yelich (OF) in their great matchup agianst the RHP Ivan Nova of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Nova comes into this game with a 4.17 ERA and 1.27 WHIP however, I like the LHB’s of the Brewers tonight agianst the veteran RHP as on the season he is allowing LHB’s to post a .284 average & .818 OPS. Nova avoided much damage when it came to scoreboard in his only outing of the season against the Brewers, however, he did allow 7 hits over just 4.2 IP and the Brewers are hitting .350 against him on the season. Shaw is hitting just .240 on the season, however, has shown some nice power as he has 29 HR’s and 79 RBI’s on the season. Shaw has a .546 slugging percentage/.900 OPS vs. RHP on the season and is an incredible 12 for 16 with 3 HR’s agianst Nova in his career. Moustakas is hitting .256 on the season with 26 HR’s & 88 RBI’s and has been on fire as of late, hitting .389 over the past week. Moustakas is hitting .467 (7 for 15) with 3 HR’s against Pittsburgh on the season. Yelich is having a huge season for the Brewers as he comes into this game with a .314 average with 29 HR’s, 88 RBI’s, and 19 SB’s. Yelich is hitting .300 over the past week and has posted a .993 OPS at home on the season.
We’re also going with a Minnesota stack of Jorge Polanco (SS), Eddie Rosario (OF), and Logan Forsythe (Utility) in their match-up agianst the RHP Ian Kennedy of the Kansas City Royals. Kennedy comes into this game with a 4.92 ERA and 1.42 WHIP on the season. Kennedy is allowing his opponents to post a .802 OPS on the season and certainly can give up HR’s as he has a 1.6 HR/9 ratio on the season. Polanco comes into this game with a .275 average with 4 HR’s and 30 RBI’s. Polanco is a switch-hitter that fares much better against RHP as on the season he has posted a .313 average/.820 OPS. Rosario comes into this game with a .287 average with 23 HR’s and 76 RBI’s on the season. Rosario has struggled a bit in the month of September however, has great career numbers agianst Kennedy as he is 8 for 22 (.364 average) with 3 doubles and a HR. Forsythe is more of a “punt” play tonight as he is hitting just .235 on the season with 2 HR’s and 24 RBI’s. Forsythe is hitting RHP much better this season (.257 average) and we do like the fact that he has been recently hitting out of the 3-hole in the Twins lineup.
Rounding out the team tonight, will be Angels stack of Jose Fernandez (C/1B) and Shohei Ohtani (OF) in their solid match-up agianst the RHP Erasmo Ramirez of the Seattle Mariners. Ramirez comes into this game with a 5.31 ERA and 1.36 WHIP on the season and has really struggled on the road, posting a 7.23 ERA. Ramirez is allowing his opponents to post a .545 slugging percentage/.867 OPS against him on the season and currently has a 2.3 HR/9 ratio. Fernandez comes into this game with a .276 average with 2 HR’s and 9 RBI’s on the season. Fernandez has finally found his power at the MLB level as he has 2 HR’s over the past week and he is hitting .281 at home on the season. Ohtani comes into this game with a .290 average with 19 HR’s, 54 RBI’s, & 9 SB’s. Ohtani has posted .323 average/1.072 OPS vs. RHP and has posted a .378 average/1.317 OPS so far in the month of September.
Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary updates to the lineup due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.
