DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB FanDuel Lineup, Picks & Advice – 9/22/18
Hi Everyone! It was a solid night for our last night as our 176.80-point performance had us cashing in both our GPP’s and 50/50’s. We got a solid 58-point performance from the Rockies German Marquez who had very low ownership levels and we certainly picked the right Yankees to roll with as Aaron Hicks (40.8 point) & Didi Gregorius (25.4 points) had big days. Let’s keep the winning going as we take a look at the 9-game slate that starts at 7:05pm tonight.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to be taking a risk with the RHP Anthony DeSclafani (P) of the Cincinnati Reds in his solid match-up against the Miami Marlins. DeSclafani hasn’t been great this season as he comes into this game with a 4.92 ERA and 1.31 WHIP however, I don’t mind his value tonight against the Marlins who have scored just 5 runs over their last three games. DeSclafani has been really hurt the HR ball this season, especially to LHB’s (15 HR’s), however, I’m not too concern about it in this match-up as the Marlins don’t have many LHB’s we have to worry about. DeSclafani is holding RHB’s to just a .250 average/.666 OPS and faces a Miami team that rans just 24th in team batting average vs. RHP (.241). DeSclafani has a respectable 7.9 K/9 ratio and I think he could get us at least 30-40 points as he is also pitching in the friendly Marlins Park tonight.
We’re going to start our offense tonight with a 3-main stack of Oakland Athletics in Matt Olson (C/1B), Matt Chapman (3B), and Khris Davis (OF) their match-up against the RHP Chase De Jong of the Minnesota Twins. De Jon will be making his 2nd start of the season and although he comes in with a solid 3.68 ERA, he is also posting a 1.77 WHIP. De Jong is allowing his opponents to have a .300 batting average/.816 OPS against him on the season and struggled in his last start as he lasted just 3.1 innings, giving up 3 ER’s on 8 hits. Olson is hitting just .245 on the season however, has shown some solid power this season as he has posted 27 HR’s & 77 RBI’s. Olson has posted a .333 average over the past week and has a .818 OPS vs. RHP on the season. Chapman has had a monster season and comes into this game with a .282 average with 23 HR’s & 66 RBI’s. Chapman is hitting .308 over the past week and has been one of the best hitters in baseball since the All-Star break, posting a .322 average/1.003 OPS. Davis is hitting just .252 on the season, but he has shown his incredible power this season as after his 2 HR performance last night, Davis currently has 45 HR’s & 119 RBI’s on the season. Davis is hitting .280 over the past week and has fared much better against RHP on the season, posting a .580 slugging percentage/.909 OPS.
We’re going to stay in the OAK/MIN match-up as we’re going to go with the Twins Jorge Polanco (SS) in his match-up against the RHP Mike Fiers of the Athletics. Fiers has had a solid season as he has posted a 3.38 ERA & 1.17 WHIP, however, has struggled a bit more as of late as he hasn’t made it past the 3th inning in two of his last four starts and has given up 8 HR’s over his last five starts. Polanco is hitting .287 with 6 HR’s & 36 RBI’s in his 68 games this season and has been on a tear as of late, hitting .429 over the past week. Polanco is a switch-hitter who has fared much better against RHP on the season, posting a .328 average/.866 OPS.
We have a mini-stack of Los Angeles Dodgers in Joc Pederson (OF) and Max Muncy (Utility) in their match-up against the RHP Jacob Nix of the San Diego Padres. Nix comes into this game with a 5.75 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over his 7 starts this season. Nix is allowing his opponents to post a .289 average/.830 OPS and has struggled more against LHB’s, allowing them to post a .304 average/.893 OPS. Pederson is hitting just .251 on the season but has shown some solid power, as he has 23 HR’s & 53 RBI’s on the season. Pederson is hitting .444 (8-18) over the past week and has posted a .553 slugging percentage/.895 OPS vs. RHP on the season. Muncy is comes into this game with a .253 average but does have 33 HR’s & 68 RBI’s on the season. Muncy has posted a .972 OPS vs. RHP on the season and has been great against San Diego this season, posting a .364 average/.818 slugging percentage/1.330 OPS.
Completing the infield tonight will be Daniel Murphy (2B) of the Chicago Cubs in his matchup against the RHP Lucas Giolito of the Chicago White Sox. Giolito comes into this game with a 5.77 ERA & 1.43 WHIP. Giolito is posting a 6.91 ERA over his three starts in the month of September and comes into this game allowing LHB’s to post a .828 OPS against him. Murphy comes into this game with a .293 average with 12 HR’s and 39 RBI’s on the season. Murphy is hitting .500 (6 for 12) over the past week with 2 HR’s and has crushed RHP’s this season to the tune of a .316 average/.878 OPS.
Rounding out the team tonight, we’re going to be going with Arizona’s David Peralta in his match-up against the RHP Antonio Senzatela of the Colorado Rockies. Senzatela hasn’t been overly impressive this season as he comes into this game with a 4.81 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. Senzatela has posted a 6.43 ERA over 14.0 IP against the Diamondbacks this season and is allowing LHB’s to post a .286 average. Peralta has had a monster season with Arizona as he comes into this game with a .297 average with 29 HR’s & 84 RBI’s. Peralta has crushed Colorado this season as he is hitting .407 against them and also has been much better at Chase Field, posting a .343 average.
