DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineup, Picks & Advice – 9/27/18
Update (6:22 PM) - Hi Everyone! I've updated the team and the image below to the confirmed lineup for tonight! Good Luck!
Hi Everyone! We had a great night last night as our 140.6-point performance had us easily cashing in both our 50/50’s and GPP’s. Let’s keep it rolling tonight as we take a look at the 6-game main slate that starts at 7:10 PM.
Remember, being the last week of the season, we need to pay extra attention to when the “confirmed lineups” are released as the majority of the team’s fate for the postseason has already been determined. We will be seeing a lot of different lineups over the next few days in which regulars will be sitting out/taken out early however, there is also a chance for some great value! The team we have currently is just based on what is available in the morning and we’ll reevaluate once the lineups are released.
As for the weather, there is some delay/postponement concerns in the HOU/BAL game. As of right now, I’m avoiding that game however, Cole has the best match-up by far on the mound tonight and certainly will make some room for this game if I feel the weather looks ok later in the day.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to with a couple of the mid-tier options in Atlanta’s Julio Teheran (P) and Seattle’s Marco Gonzales (P). Teheran has had a solid season for the Braves as the veteran RHP comes into his plus match-up agianst the with a 4.03 ERA & 1.19 WHIP. Teheran has been solid as of late as over his last 8 starts, he has held his opponents to 2 or less ER’s in 6 of those starts. Teheran is holding his opponents to just a .199 average on the season and will be up against a New York Mets team that ranks just 25th in MLB in terms of batting average vs. RHP (.240). Teheran has a respectable 8.3 K/9 ratio on the season and has dominated the Mets this season as over 4 starts (26.2 IP) he has posted a 1.69 ERA and is holding them to just a .174 batting average. Gonzales comes into his match-up agianst the Texas Rangers with a decent 4.12 ERA & 1.24 WHIP on the season. Gonzales has been solid in his three starts since returning from injury as he has pitched 16.0 innings while giving up just 4 ER’s. Gonzales is allowing his opponents to post a .272 average agianst him however, will be up agianst a Texas team that ranks just 20th in MLB in terms of batting average vs. LHP (.239). Gonzales has a 7.7 K/9 ratio and doesn’t strikeout a bunch a hitters, however, he decent chance of an average strikeout night as the Rangers rank 27th in MLB in team strikeout rate (9.13 K/game). Gonzales has posted a 3.57 ERA over three starts agianst the Rangers this season, including an outstanding performance agianst Texas this past Saturday as he went 6 innings, giving up no runs on just one hit.
On the offensive side of the ball, we’re basically going to stack the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners in their outstanding match-ups tonight.
For the Kansas City Royals, we’re going with a 4-man stack in Salvador Perez (C/1B), Ryan O’Hearn (1B), Alcides Escobar (3B), and Jorge Bonifacio (OF) in their matchup agianst the RHP Josh Tomlin of the Cleveland Indians. It’s been a season to forget for Tomlin as in his 31 appearances (8 starts) the right-hander has posted just a 6.44 ERA & 1.52 WHIP. Tomlin is allowing his opponents to post a .309 average/.962 OPS agianst him and he currently comes into this game with a 3.3 HR/9 ratio. Perez is currently hitting just .235 on the season however, has showed so decent power as he has 27 HR’s & 78 RBI’s on the season. Perez has collected hits in 5 straight games and has always seen Tomlin well as he has a .500 average (20 for 40) with 8 doubles and a HR. O’Hearn has a .271 average on the season with 12 HR’s & 29 RBI’s in his 40 games with the Royals this season. O’Hearn has crushed Cleveland to the tune of a .421 average (8 for 19) and has an incredible 1.213 OPS vs. RHP on the season. Escobar comes into this game with just a .227 average with 4 HR’s, 33 RBI’s, & 8 SB’s however, has been on a tear as of late, hitting .467 over the past week. Escobar provides some salary relief in a good matchup and currently is riding a 6-game hitting streak. Bonifacio is currently hitting .227 on the season with 4 HR’s & 23 RBI’s. Bonifacio has been hitting out of the 6-hole which is a decent spot for DFS purposes and is 3 for 7 with a double & HR agianst Tomlin in his career.
As for the Seattle Mariners, we’re going with a 4-man stack of Seattle Mariners with Robinson Cano (2B), Jean Segura (SS), Nelson Cruz (OF) and Dee Gordon (OF) in their match-up agianst the RHP Ariel Jurado of the Texas Rangers. Jurado comes into this game with a 6.66 ERA & 1.68 WHIP in his 11 appearances this season (7 starts). Jurado is allowing his opponents to hit .317 against him while LHB’s are posting a .375 average/1.047 OPS. Cano comes into this game with a .300 average with 10 HR’s & 37 RBI’s on the season and has been swinging a hot bat as he is hitting .400 over the past week (10-25) with 2 HR’s. Cano has a .836 OPS vs. RHP and has posted a .440 average vs. the Rangers on the season. Segura is having a great season for the Mariners as he comes into this game with a .303 average, 10 HR’s, 62 RBI’s & 20 SB’s. Segura is hitting .321 agianst the Rangers on the season and currently is riding a 4-game hitting streak. Cruz continues to destroy baseball as although he is hitting just .261 on the season, he has posted 37 HR’s & 96 RBI’s on the season. Gordon comes into this game with a .268 average with 4 HR’s, 35 RBI’s & 30 SB. Gordon has picked up lately as he is hitting .286 over the past week and as Jurado doesn’t strike people out (3.5 K/9), I like Gordon being able to get on base and do some damage with his legs.
Please check back later as I’ll make any necessary updates due to “confirmed lineups” and/or weather.
