DFS – Fantasy Baseball – MLB DraftKings Lineups, Picks & Advice – 9/29/18
Update (6:36 PM) - Keeping with the original lineup. Image confirmed below! Good Luck!
Hi Everyone! It was another solid day yesterday as we cashed in both our GPP’s & 50/50’s with a solid 135.4-point performance last night. Let’s get the weekend off the right note as we take a look at the 9-game “Featured” slate that starts at 7:05pm tonight.
As we’ve mentioned throughout the week, we need to pay extra attention to the “confirmed lineups” as the majority of the MLB playoff races have been determined. In this slate, the only two teams that are still playing for something will be the Brewers & Rockies, so I can imagine we see some unique lineups from the other teams.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to be going with Arizona’s Zack Godley (P) and the Brewers Wade Miley (P). Godley comes his game against the San Diego Padres with a 4.75 ERA & 1.46 WHIP. Godley is holding his opponents to a .261 average/.392 slugging percentage on the season and faces a San Diego team that ranks 29th in MLB vs. RHP in terms of batting average (.235). Godley can be a bit wild, however, if he brings his best stuff he certainly can make hitter’s swing and miss as he has a 9.4 K/9 ratio. Godley could be in for a solid strikeout night as the Padres also rank 29th in team strikeout rate at 9.41 K/game. Godley has posted just a 5.24 ERA against the Padres this season in 3 starts, however, I like his upside at his price as over those three starts, he has compiled 31 strikeouts over 22.1 IP. Miley has been unbelievable for the Brewers this season as over his 15 starts as the veteran left-hander comes into his match-up against the Detroit Tigers with a 2.32 ERA & 1.18 WHIP. Miley is holding his opponents to a .230 batting average/.619 OPS on the season and faces a Detroit team that ranks just 24th in MLB in team batting average on the road (.235). We can’t count on Miley getting a ton of strikeouts as he has just a 5.6 K/9 ratio on the season, however, Miley has allowed just 3 HR’s on the season and if he can get through 6 innings without much damage, I think he can hit value with a 35-40 point night.
With the money we’re saving on Miley, we’re able to put in a solid 4-man stack of Milwaukee Brewers in Jesus Aguilar (C/1B), Jonathan Schoop (2B), and Ryan Braun (OF) in their match-up against the LHP Daniel Norris of the Detroit Tigers. Norris has made seven starts on the season and it hasn’t gone that well as he comes into this game with just a 5.22 ERA & 1.44 WHIP. Norris is allowing his opponents to post a .777 OPS on the season and has a 1.6 HR/9 ratio on the season. Aguilar comes into this game hitting .274 on the season and has shown some great power this season as he has 34 HR’s & 105 RBI’s. Agular has posted a .944 OPS vs. LHP on the season and is hitting .316 in interleague play. Schoop is hitting just .232 on the season, however, we all know that he does have some decent power as he has 21 HR’s & 60 RBI’s n the year. Schoop is hitting just .198 since joining the Brewers, however, is 3 for 4 agianst Norris in his career. Braun is hitting just .254 on the season, however, has shown some decent power as he has 20 HR’s & 61 RBI’s on the season. Braun has been on fire down the stretch for the Brewers as over the past week, he is hitting .368 with 5 HR’s.
We have a 2-man stack of Arizona Diamondbacks in Eduardo Escobar (3B) and David Peralta (OF) in their match-up agianst the San Diego Padres RHP Jacob Nix. Nix has had a couple of decent starts, but the overall body of work hasn’t been very impressive as he comes into this game with a 6.81 ERA & 1.49 WHIP on the season. Nix is allowing his opponents to post a .303 average/.899 OPS agianst him on the season and struggled in his previous start agianst the Diamondbacks (0.2 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB). Escobar comes into this game with a .271 average with 23 HR’s & 84 RBI’s. The switch-hitting Escobar has posted a .842 OPS vs. RHP and has crushed San Diego to the tune of a .406 average (13-32). Peralta is having a career season as he comes into this game with a .295 average with 30 HR’s & 87 RBI’s. Peralta is hitting .321 with a .955 OPS vs. RHP on the season and hit a HR against Nix is only AB against him.
For our catcher tonight, we’re hoping that Matt Wieters (C) can continue his recent stellar play in his match-up agianst the RHP Jon Gray of the Colorado Rockies. Gray comes into this game with a 4.91 ERA & 1.32 WHIP and although he is coming off a solid start agianst the Phillies, it’s been a struggle for Gray in the month of September as he is currently posted a 5.87 ERA over 5 starts. Gray is allowing his opponents to post a .761 OPS against him on the season wand has allowed at least 1 HR’s in each of his last 11 starts. Wieters comes into this game with just a .238 average with 8 HR’s & 30 RBI’s on the season, however, is hitting .556 (5-9) with 2 HR’s & 3 BB’s over the past week. Wieters has been better as an LHB this season and is 4 for 9 with a HR agianst Gray in his career.
Completing the infield tonight will be Cleveland’s Francisco Lindor (SS) in his match-up agianst the RHP Jakob Junis of the Kansas City Royals. Junis comes into this game with a 4.42 ERA & 1.27 WHIP and has struggled a bit as of late as he has allowed 10 ER’s & 5 HR’s over his last three starts. Junis is allowing LHB’s to post a .782 OPS against him on the season and has struggled with the HR ball this season as he currently has a 1.7 HR/9 ratio. Lindor is having another great season as he is hitting .279 with 37 HR’s, 91 RBI’s, and 23 SB. Lindor has 29 HR’s as a LHB on the season and has owned Junis in his career as he is 7 for 13 agianst the RHP with 3 HR’s & 9 RBI’s.
Rounding out the team tonight, we’re paying up for the Angels Mike Trout (Utility) in his match-up agianst the RHP Trevor Cahill of the Oakland Athletics. Cahill comes into this game with a respectable 3.91 ERA & 1.22 WHIP however, has really struggled as of late as over his last two starts, he has allowed 6 ER’s over just 6.0 IP. Cahill has been terrible on the road this season, posting a 7.02 ERA and struggled against the Angels earlier this season, as he allowed 4 ER’s over just 4.2 IP. Mike Trout is having another MVP type season as he comes into the final weekend of the season with a .315 average with 39 HR’s, 79 RBI’s, & 24 SB. Trout is hitting .358 with 5 HR’s agianst Oakland on the season and has posted a .322 average/1.13 OPS vs. RHP on the season.
